This study employs a qualitative research approach using a Research and Development (R&D) method combined with a case study approach. The case study methodology is derived from ethnography, focusing on in-depth examination and contextual analysis of the SRF implementation in various ASEAN member states. This study evaluates the implementation of the SRF across ASEAN member states, identifies key challenges and opportunities, and proposes strategies for improvement. Significant progress has been made in aligning national qualification frameworks with the ASEAN Qualifications Reference Framework (AQRF), but challenges such as variability in recognition systems, limited awareness, and complex processes still hinder the framework's full potential. The proposed strategy for developing skills recognition services includes promoting ASEAN principles and protocols, developing TVET product standards, aligning the NQF with AQRF, and promoting the recognition of prior learning (RPL). The alignment strategy integrates the TVET Curriculum with Competency-Based Assessment (CBA), RPL certification, and the regional job market, ensuring seamless processes aligned with labor market needs. Recommendations include enhancing standardization, capacity building, improving transparency, promoting awareness, engaging governments, fostering cooperation, and conducting continuous evaluations. Further research is needed to explore the long-term impacts of SRF and the role of technology in enhancing skills recognition.","PeriodicalId":505426,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Engineering, Social and Health","volume":" 75","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141670715","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aims to predict land cover change in the Batangan sub-district from 2013 to 2033. The method used is quantitative, based on satellite image data, followed by cellular automata modeling using the MOLUSCE plugin on QGIS software. The land cover themes used are open areas, built-up areas, forests, water bodies, agriculture and livestock, and transportation. Spatial variables that are considered to influence the prediction results are road networks, built-up areas, agricultural land, and water bodies. The predicted land area that can be used for settlements in 2033 is 272.81 hectares, while the land required for settlements based on population projections with additional labor due to the existence of industrial allotment areas is 840.74 hectares. This results in a shortage of land for the development of residential areas of 567.93 hectares, which should be a concern for the local government in making policies for residential areas in the Batangan sub-district. The implications of this land cover change also need to be considered in the environmental and social contexts.","PeriodicalId":505426,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Engineering, Social and Health","volume":" 70","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141670651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite its potential therapeutic benefits, marijuana use is often stigmatized due to concerns about addiction. In Indonesia, marijuana is classified as a Class I narcotic, prohibiting its use for medicinal purposes under Law Number 35 of 2009, which restricts access to medical marijuana and raises human rights issues for individuals seeking necessary treatments. This study aims to analyze the potential benefits of legalizing medical marijuana in Indonesia and propose regulatory changes that align with the evolving needs of society and human rights principles. The research method used is a normative legal research method, involving the analysis of legal documents, literature reviews, and interviews with experts in law and health to evaluate the impact of regulatory changes on medical marijuana use. The findings suggest that appropriate legal reforms can reduce stigma, ensure access to treatment, and uphold the right to health without the threat of criminal penalties. Therefore, revising narcotic laws to allow the use of marijuana for medical purposes with proper regulations is crucial to provide those in need of treatment the opportunity to access marijuana legally without fear of criminal punishment, and to help reduce the stigma associated with its use.","PeriodicalId":505426,"journal":{"name":"Asian Journal of Engineering, Social and Health","volume":"32 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141709211","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
