For this reason, the study explored the views of participants of the study on the transformative role of counselling for SDV. The instrumental case study was adopted. A theoretical sample was used to purposively select 23 participants which were made up of three officials of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU), two counsellors and 18 SDVs. An interview guide was used to collect the data. The data was analysed using Open and selective coding and thematic content analysis. The findings indicated that counselling plays a transformative role for SDV through the use of counselling skills and techniques to heal psychological and emotional pain. Based on the findings, it is recommended that a counselling unit should be set up at all regional offices of DOVVSU, to provide counselling services to SDV for psychological and emotional recovery.","PeriodicalId":504831,"journal":{"name":"Sprin Journal of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences","volume":" 45","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140390879","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study focused on investigating the factors influencing COVID-19 inoculation adherence among pregnant women in a government hospital in Paranaque City, Philippines. Research Method: Conducted through a descriptive-correlational research design involving 245 randomly selected pregnant women, the study employed three researcher-made questionnaires to gather data on contextual factors, vaccination determinants, and adherence to COVID-19 inoculation. Results: The findings revealed that most of the respondents were between 20 and 30 years old, Roman Catholic, Tagalog-speaking, unemployed, with a secondary education, expecting their first child, and without any existing medical illnesses. The study reported a very high level of adherence to COVID-19 vaccination among the pregnant women. There was a significant difference in the respondent’s adherence to COVID-19 inoculation and medical illness. The study identified a significant relationship between social factors and adherence to COVID-19 inoculation as to self-efficacy, confidence, convenience, and complacency in pregnant women. Furthermore, the study determined that only medical illnesses and social factors predicted adherence to vaccination. Conclusion: The study highlighted the crucial role of community and healthcare support in promoting vaccination acceptance among pregnant women, emphasizing effective communication about vaccine safety and efficacy. Additionally, it underscored the need for targeted interventions addressing health concerns and hesitancy to bolster vaccination rates. Future research is recommended to corroborate strategies to encourage widespread vaccine uptake and ensure maternal and neonatal well-being providing valuable insights for healthcare workers and policymakers.","PeriodicalId":504831,"journal":{"name":"Sprin Journal of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences","volume":"25 17","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140082059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition to facilitating learning, teachers are critical agents of socialization, helping learners reach their highest potential and developing responsible citizens. However, over the past years, teaching has become increasingly stressful. In this vein, this study was conducted to determine the lived experiences of public-school teachers during the in-person classes. It explored the coping mechanisms of public-school teachers and proposed a stress-coping plan. Informant teachers who participated in the Focus Group Discussion had served for at least three (3) years in service. Qualitative research designs the transcendental phenomenological approach was used. The study concluded that public school teachers faced various challenges during in-person classes, including work overload problems, work struggles, students' behavioral problems, and low literacy skill development. To cope with the stress caused by these challenges, teachers used differentiated instruction, and collaborative learning, and focused on their holistic wellness. Additionally, a stress-coping plan has been proposed that involves developing effective teaching strategies, increasing parental engagement, and building personal and professional resilience. These findings suggest that addressing the workload and behavior issues, promoting differentiated instruction and collaborative learning, and supporting teachers' personal and professional well-being are essential steps toward improving the educational experience of both teachers and students.","PeriodicalId":504831,"journal":{"name":"Sprin Journal of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences","volume":"33 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140082721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, this study was conducted by two lecturers from the English Department of the Education Faculty at Balkh University. Its intention is to determine how providing feedback helps Afghan EFL learners improve their vocabulary in speaking. To gather reliable data, we conducted an online survey by distributing an online questionnaire to our seventh-semester female students. These students were enrolled in the English Department of the Education Faculty at Balkh University. We sent the questionnaire to 20 students, which was designed using a four-point Likert Scale with options ranging from strongly agree to strongly disagree, consisting of 13 items. The questionnaire was crafted to gauge students' perceptions of the feedback they receive and how it contributes to their vocabulary improvement in speaking. After collecting the data, we analyzed it using basic descriptive statistics. The results indicate that students prefer receiving feedback from their teachers and are keen to identify their mistakes and enhance their vocabulary. While some students expressed interest in receiving feedback during speaking activities, others were opposed to it, as they believed that receiving feedback during speaking could be detrimental and lead to hesitation.","PeriodicalId":504831,"journal":{"name":"Sprin Journal of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences","volume":"42 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140429797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
