Examining the complexities of this conflict, the paper explores why nations such as France, Sweden, and Denmark supported the Protestants, contrasting with Spain and the Holy Roman Empire's alignment with Catholics. This provides a political agenda to promote rural planning lacking local extensive participation. While most research concerning the rural community involvement in governance and building is focused on the improvement of professional planning methods and techniques spatially, little attention is on the motivations and abilities to participate in the community. The empowerment theory, rooted in the American environment in the 1970s, provides a new perspective for inspiring the enthusiasm of vulnerable groups to participate in the community and improving their ability to participate. In response, Western European nations, particularly Portugal and Spain, emerged as leaders in exploration, seeking alternative routes to bypass the challenges of the Middle East. Liberated from Muslim influence, these nations focused their efforts on discovering new sea routes to India and beyond. The narrative centers on Portuguese sailor Henry's role in planning expeditions to the Canary Islands, aiming to identify novel commercial routes for Portugal's development in Africa. Subsequently, the Spanish, influenced by Portugal's efforts, discovered new lands by employing Christopher Columbus. Columbus initially proposed his plan, \"The Way to India,\" to the King of Portugal, but it was rejected. Turning to Spain in 1484, he secured the Queen's consent with the help of his shipbuilder brother, ultimately discovering America. Employing a descriptive-analytical research method, this article utilizes library research to delve into the historical background and explore the intricacies of European exploration during this transformative period.","PeriodicalId":504831,"journal":{"name":"Sprin Journal of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences","volume":"160 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140485114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consequently, the cultivation of science and knowledge assumed a central role in all aspects of Muslim affairs. In stark contrast to the ignorance and darkness prevailing in Europe during the Middle Ages, where matters were viewed through the ecclesiastical lens, the flourishing Islamic civilization emerged. The relentless endeavours of Muslim scholars propelled a range of sciences, including natural sciences, mathematics, astronomy, philosophy, history, literature, and geology, to unprecedented heights. Witnessing the advancements of Muslims in diverse scientific domains, Europeans, mired in their own scientific stagnation, regarded Muslims as apostates, accusing them of prioritizing materialistic and worldly pursuits, hindering salvation. The scientific accomplishments of Muslims profoundly influenced the Renaissance and the awakening of Europe. At a time when reason and knowledge were confined by the Church, it was Muslim scientists who not only translated the science and philosophy of the Greeks into Arabic but also preserved, developed, and expanded these intellectual pursuits. Following the Crusades, Muslim knowledge and technology permeated the Western world through interactions in Spain, Sicily, and Italy involving merchants, soldiers, and translators, laying the groundwork for the European Renaissance and intellectual awakening.","PeriodicalId":504831,"journal":{"name":"Sprin Journal of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences","volume":"58 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140489939","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
