Following a quasi-experimental, simple crossover design with repeated measures (pretest-post1-post2), 96 high school students (Mage = 12.2) and one teacher participated part in two consecutive Sport Education-based teaching units of basketball and floorball, respectively. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. Permanent roles were associated with improvements on social responsibility and intercultural variables (sensibility and behavior), especially in males. There are slightly negative consequences on female’ responsibility levels. Findings reveal and emphasize the importance of using permanent roles when dealing with socially vulnerable contexts, as well as first experiences with Sport Education.","PeriodicalId":49609,"journal":{"name":"Revista Internacional De Medicina Y Ciencias De La Actividad Fisica Y Del Deporte","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2020-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72631351","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thirty three subjects voluntarily participated in the proposed training. Anthropometric measurements and estimates of maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) were taken to characterize the subjects in the initial physical state. Subsequently, the maximal aerobic speed was estimated to individually program the training distances. The protocol was organized in six sessions divided in three weeks, consisting of two rounds of twelve repetitions with work intervals of ten seconds of straight running and ten seconds of passive pause. After six sessions VO2max were evaluated again. In the statistical treatment, non-parametric tests were used. The experimental group achieved a significant increase in VO2max of 12% (p <0.01), while the control group increased its yield by 6.8% (p <0.05).","PeriodicalId":49609,"journal":{"name":"Revista Internacional De Medicina Y Ciencias De La Actividad Fisica Y Del Deporte","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2020-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90018085","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A national-level athlete (age: 25.3 years; height: 172 cm; weight: 67 kg; VO2MAX: 70.2 ml/kg/min) participated in an official race (Distance: 27.6 km; Accumulated slope: 973 m), analysed in 6 segments related to the slope (without, positive and negative slope). Data was registered through an inertial device WIMU PROTM (RealTrack Systems, Almeria, Spain). The results show an increase of PL/min and PM/min in negative slope and an increase of HRAVG in positive slope. KVERT and ApEn were lower in positive slope, while velocity was faster without slope. It is found a great variability in the trail runner demands related to terrain orography, being important its analysis to design specific training sessions and race planning.","PeriodicalId":49609,"journal":{"name":"Revista Internacional De Medicina Y Ciencias De La Actividad Fisica Y Del Deporte","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2020-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79119477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lower levels of flexibility are associated to a loss of functional capacity, and participation in supervised physical exercise programs could maintain or improve levels of that physical ability. In our study, we analysed flexibility in 53 adults over 65 years old (M=73,74±4,54) who participated in an exercise program for at least 6 months; using Back Scratch Test (TBS), and Chair Sit and Reach Test (TCSAR). At the end of the program, the results of flexibility were found to be within the normative values ??of reference; being, on many occasions exceeded them. In conclusion, staying physically active minimises the loss of flexibility inherent to the aging process, which could has an important impact on the functional capacity and quality of life of older adults.","PeriodicalId":49609,"journal":{"name":"Revista Internacional De Medicina Y Ciencias De La Actividad Fisica Y Del Deporte","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2020-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85495992","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through a descriptive and correlational study, with a sample of 116 practitioners from Spain, a psycho social profile was developed and includes the evaluation of the reasons for the practice, muscle appearance satisfaction, the cohesion and the psychological well-being; in addition, includes a comparison based on whether they compete. The results suggest that it is a male-dominated sport, all under 23 years old, whose main motivation is to find a balance between the concern about the health and their physical appearance. The levels of cohesion and psychological well-being are high, and low in four of the five dimensions of muscle satisfaction. Therefore, the data from this first approach support a positive view of the psychological characteristics of Street Workout practitioners and its practice.","PeriodicalId":49609,"journal":{"name":"Revista Internacional De Medicina Y Ciencias De La Actividad Fisica Y Del Deporte","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2020-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86026580","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
