We contemplate the necessity to, at least partially, overcome the fragmentation of psychological knowledge to foster the emergence of more integrative approaches. We underscore the resistance that emerges from the broad association of Clinical Psychology with the medical model or the dichotomy of health versus disease. To address this misconception, we stress the importance of integratively linking knowledge constructed across various fields of Psychology. Examples are provided to illustrate the imperative use of innovative strategies in integrating transversal and heterodox approaches, incorporating contributions from Clinical Psychology. The application of adaptable clinical techniques for unconventional contexts, such as utilizing Psychodrama in socio-emotional education, underscores the relevance of this adaptation in addressing issues like violence and the deconstruction of prejudices. In conclusion, the promotion of a more integrative Psychology proves essential for delving deeper into knowledge and devising solutions for complex problems. By challenging prejudices and expanding the application scope of practical-scientific knowledge derived from Clinical Psychology, we highlight its potential contribution to constructing a more comprehensive understanding of the human experience.","PeriodicalId":486661,"journal":{"name":"Psicologia e Saúde em Debate","volume":"31 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140259739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CPPs are carried out by multidisciplinary teams and the psychologist is one of the professionals who can be part of them. However, the role of the psychologist in this context remains unsystematized in empirical studies and literature reviews. Thus, the objective of this article was to describe, through an integrative literature review, the state of the art of the psychologist's role in palliative care for children and teenagers. It was used the Prisma P protocol, in which 12 databases were accessed and 968 studies were extracted. Six articles were included at the end of screening the abstracts and reading the studies. The publications were analyzed by deductive-inductive thematic analysis, creating three categories: (1) concept of CPPs and end of life, (2) role of the psychologist in CPPs, and (3) understandings about the role of the psychologist in CPPs. The results indicate that the role of the psychologist in CPPs covers all moments of care: focusing on management of emotions, interpersonal relationships, communication, supporting family members after death, beyond the possibility of assisting other health professionals and doing training or supervision. It was observed that there is little integration of psychologists in PPC teams, and a small distinction in the scientific literature regarding the support provided by psychologists and other professionals.","PeriodicalId":486661,"journal":{"name":"Psicologia e Saúde em Debate","volume":"62 9‐10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140261562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, it aimed to identify social demographic profile and, using psychological evaluation, investigated the correlation among the constructs of scales EMRI and PCL: YV as well as the association between empathy and traces of psychopathy. The research checked if scale PCL: YV was sensitive to antisocial characteristics in a communitarian sample of adolescents in which the participants didn’t show mental disorders associated to psychopathy. The sample was compound by 40 students of the male gender from three schools of the state net of a municipality in Rio Grande do Sul, their ages between twelve and seventeen years old. The research consisted of a transversal study, descriptive and correlational that aimed to explore relationships that might exist among the variables of the used scales. The sample measured low score on the inventory PCL: YV for characteristics of traces of psychopathy not stating diagnosis in adulthood, as well as high score for empathy levels. The results of the study revealed that the smaller the traces of psychopathy in adolescence, the biggest the levels of empathy.","PeriodicalId":486661,"journal":{"name":"Psicologia e Saúde em Debate","volume":"96 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140261331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is a narrative review that was proposed to analyze from the national literature, available in the databases: SciELO, ARCA and VHL, research that addressed the central theme of the present study and in each database the health descriptors were used: \"intersectional theory\", \"obstetric violence\" and \"gender and ethnic racism\" organized by the Boolean operator “AND”. From the extensive literature we can infer that obstetric violence against women occurs mainly against black, brown, indigenous and poor women, that is, women who most accumulate intersections/social determinants of health. Finally, obstetric violence does not choose a profile, all people who are pregnant are subject to being violated just because of their ability to conceive and undergo obstetric procedures. However, it can worsen depending on your environment, class, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity and other intersections.","PeriodicalId":486661,"journal":{"name":"Psicologia e Saúde em Debate","volume":"24 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140263466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This notably concerning health scenario demands more specialized attention from professionals in the field. The present study aims to meticulously analyze the relationship between sickle cell disease and depression, delving into the state of the art on this subject, incorporating sources such as articles, books, dissertations, and theses. Individuals with sickle cell disease show a propensity for elevated levels of depression compared to the general population. Additionally, it has been observed that patients with sickle cell disease and depression experience an intensification of pain compared to their counterparts without depression, suggesting an intrinsic correlation between pain and both conditions. The in-depth analysis of the pathophysiology of both sickle cell disease and depression played a fundamental role in understanding this interconnection. It is concluded that the quality of life for these individuals is compromised, not only in terms of pathophysiological aspects but also in the realms of mental health, highlighting a significant increase in morbidity associated with the presence of depression. In this context, seeking medical assistance proves crucial to mitigate the impacts on the mental health of individuals with sickle cell disease, emphasizing the need for a holistic and integrated approach to substantially improve their quality of life.","PeriodicalId":486661,"journal":{"name":"Psicologia e Saúde em Debate","volume":"49 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140264458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using a qualitative narrative review of the literature, it explores the experiences and concerns of older people in the oncological context. The results reveal that the psychosocial impact of the diagnosis involves fear, anxiety and stress, contributing to issues such as depression and isolation. Ethical dilemmas in communication and the stigma associated with cancer influence the perception of the elderly. Family support, coping strategies, balance between pain and quality of life, spirituality and religion are crucial in this process. These are essential aspects for successful aging, promoting well-being, positive adaptation and thus contributing to an improved quality of life.","PeriodicalId":486661,"journal":{"name":"Psicologia e Saúde em Debate","volume":"192 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140265586","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is a qualitative research study. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and subjected to the content analysis technique. In total, six professionals from different categories participated in the research. The results demonstrated that matrix support is presented by some reference teams as a favorable strategy for improving mental health care and by others as a proposal with low resolution, which ended up being converted into an inspection apparatus and expansion of the power of experts. The need to promote the regularity of productive matrix support meetings is highlighted, encouraging this strategy towards health promotion and deinstitutionalization, due to its ability to cover Primary Care in discussions and actions around Psychiatric Reform.","PeriodicalId":486661,"journal":{"name":"Psicologia e Saúde em Debate","volume":"50 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140264448","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this, a bibliographical research was carried out in the Google Scholar database with keywords such as \"early stage of Alzheimer's disease\", \"semantic memory\" and \"episodic memory\". We explored the complexity of the disease, characterized by neurodegeneration and brain atrophy, with memory loss as a prominent symptom. We analyzed the phases of the disease, focusing on the initial phase subdivided into three stages. We detail each stage, highlighting its characteristics. We address biological changes, including the formation of senile plaques and neurofibrillary tangles, which disrupt synapses and affect communication between neurons. In the section on memory, we identify the affected types, mainly episodic and semantic memory, highlighting their importance in the early stages. We explore the relationship between biological changes and memory deficits. We conclude by emphasizing the complexity of the disease, the need for continuous research and the importance of early diagnosis. We discuss challenges in formulating universal treatments due to individual variation and societal changes. We highlight the urgency of future research to face the challenges of this devastating disease.","PeriodicalId":486661,"journal":{"name":"Psicologia e Saúde em Debate","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135665631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
