In X-ray domain, this coefficient\u0000\u0000highly depends on the materials. To perform a dimensional measurement from the volumetric data, a surface (i.e. point cloud) is\u0000\u0000required, on which a shape can be fitted, and measurements of volumes or surfaces, and even rugosity can be evaluated. To extract\u0000\u0000this point cloud from the volume, different configurable algorithms exist, using different criteria. This can have an impact on the\u0000\u0000extracted surface and thus on the dimensional measurement and its uncertainty. A parametric study of the influencing parameters\u0000\u0000of the XCT measuring chain has been performed, using CIVA RT/CT software to model the tomographic acquisition and Python\u0000\u0000programs to extract the surface. However, industry is trending towards the use of high tensile steels where the acoustic properties are anisotropic. When an ultrasonic system, calibrated on an isotropic steel reference block, is used on anisotropic steels, the beam can be bent, skewed and attenuated so that the reference setup is rendered useless. CIVA simulation software can be used to aid in understanding the effects on the data displays. The data is collected from\u0000\u0000the research papers contained in the Web of Science Core Collection, covering studies on AI applications in\u0000\u0000various NDT methods employed across different industry sectors. The collected 654 research articles-dataset\u0000\u0000published between April 1989 and January 2023 was processed using CiteSpace software, which classified the\u0000\u0000dataset into twelve clusters. Moreover, a subset of the data pertaining to the relevant research in the nuclear\u0000\u0000industry was considered for analysis. Various metrics were used to analyse the consistency of the clusters and\u0000\u0000publications' influence and quality.
