This meta-analysis comprehensively examines the predictors of turnover intention among social workers, synthesising findings from 29 studies involving 34,071 participants. The results of the study show that social workers’ turnover intention is more related to job content and work environment factors. We also propose a framework for predicting the strength of the relationship between predictors and turnover intention, aiming to help social work researchers and practitioners better understand turnover intention and retain social workers.","PeriodicalId":47606,"journal":{"name":"International Social Work","volume":"47 21 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.2,"publicationDate":"2025-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"144712307","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study examines the knowledge of social workers and social work students about HIV, attitudes towards people living with HIV, and willingness to provide social services. The study used an HIV knowledge survey (n = 314). The percentage of correct answers to knowledge questions was 70.3% among social workers and 64.5% among students. Only 50.1% of students and 40% of social workers are willing to provide services. Twenty-one empirical studies were analyzed. The findings reveal four main dimensions of risk: (1) risk factors in interpersonal relationships; (2) risk factors associated with physical, mental, and emotional health; (3) risk factors related to access to housing, employment, and resources; and (4) risk factors linked to discrimination and intersectionality. The review highlights the interplay of individual, relational, and structural factors, underscoring the need for social work interventions and policies ensuring gender equality, housing access, and social protection.","PeriodicalId":47606,"journal":{"name":"International Social Work","volume":"26 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.2,"publicationDate":"2025-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"144260673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"社会学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
