{"title":"Creangă and Literary Criticism in Bessarabia","authors":"Iraida Costin","doi":"10.54481/intertext.2023.1.09","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.54481/intertext.2023.1.09","url":null,"abstract":"The retrospective of criticism, i.e. a criticism of criticism, is necessary in order to record, identify, become aware of both its intellectual and methodological level and the state of our prose at different stages of evolution. The \"misery and splendour\" of literary criticism is tested, first of all, in and through the hermeneutical approach/examination/interpretation of Eminescu's or Creanga's work. In keeping with the custom of these types of work, we propose an attempt to synthesize the history of an investigative problem with a defective past sometimes, other times extraordinarily difficult and complex. For the purpose of minimum specification of our metacritical dissociations, we could distinguish, in the reception of Creanga's work in Bessarabia, three stages, difficult to mark, in temporary terms, exactly (years, decades). Critics have tried to show that it is precisely orality, paramiological erudition, the instinctive brilliant sense of language and popular ethos, the pleasure of storytelling, that constitute the sure landmarks of an incontestable narrative model - Creanga. Of particular interest is the musician's choice of the first Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass. It is noted that this decision was due to practical considerations, in particular, the shape of the instrument had a symmetrical body. The scale and the distance between the strings were close to those of an electric guitar, which made it possible to play with a mediator (plector) technique. In addition, the use of the Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass bass guitar allowed P. McCartney to get a special sustain and characteristic sound attack, in comparison with bass instruments from other companies. The author analyzes the bass parts of P. McCartney in the works I Saw Her Standing There and Please Please Me. Particular attention is paid to the musician's commitment to a clear and accentuated performance of the bass canvas, based on the bass riff or the main sound of the chord. An important aspect of the instrumental lines is the absence of pauses, emphasizing the density of the musical fabric. The practical application of mediator technique allows P. McCartney to perform works in a more rigid and aggressive manner. The key element is the ornamentation of the bass part with the help of rare grace notes and glissando, which contributes to the activation of the metro-rhythmic basis, demonstrating the nature of the performed works. Thanks to the original manner of performance, the musician manages to transform the bass guitar from an auxiliary instrument into an independent one, revealing its performing and expressive potential. At the same time, most of the bass parts created by P. The synthesis of the theoretical postulates and the description of the traditional classifications (A. Bidu-Vrănceanu, J.-M Berthelot, A.-M., Loffler-Laurian, D. Rovența-Frumușani, Kocourek, Rostislav) allow the identification of relevant features in order to establish the typologies according to the sender, the recipient, and the target domain. During the public health crisis, official international and national websites are an important source of information. Thus, informational and descriptive texts such as weekly epidemiological bulletins, communication documents, summary reports, posters, video and audio information, epidemiological studies with key statistical data on confirmed cases, the incidence of detection and hospitalization, variants of the virus, and vaccination contribute to the internationalization of the terminology used in the pandemic discourse. These texts target a heterogeneous audience from the perspectives of knowledge, information, and application. The specialized text related to the pandemic context is the linguistic unit that transmits certain knowledge specific to a field, having an informative, descriptive, and argumentative value and a stance-taking impact. The pact with Satan in the works of E. T. A. Hoffman, N. V. Gogol, M. A. Bulgakov received a new reading. These writers, combining theological ideas about magic and witchcraft, ancient superstitions, elements of hagiographic and ascetic literature, folklore tradition create original works in which the conclusion of an agreement with the forces of evil occupies a key place, because with its help the connection between ontological planes „unreal” and “real” is established. The splitting of the monolithic picture of the world and the creation of an ontological binary system is due to the artistic concept of the writers, which has its origins in their worldview. Despite the differences in the historical and national context within which the poetics of the authors under study were formed, they are united by the duality of the picture of the world, in which, reinforced by the tragicomic register, the rejection of socio-political structures, as well as the cultural and aesthetic values of their time was expressed. This current study reflects the biography and the activity of Harry Winson – one of the most important american diamond collectors and specialists of 20th century. Winston House, during several decades, presents one of the most impressive natural stones, rarely found in sizes, unique properties, such as President Vargas’ diamond, Hope, the sapphire of Queen Maria of Romania and so on, creations of clothing jewelry and watches produced in history for royal houses (Duchess Windsor, Queen Elizabeth's II, Queen Maria of Romania...) and also for cinema stars (Katharine Hepburn, thus, Winston is a remarkable personality. Refurbishing jewelry by reshaping into contemporary clothing ornamental items. His authority and professionalism were so imposing, that it was impossible for him not to be a source of influence and inspiration in contemporary art, such as jewelry making, painting, sculpture from the territory of Bessarabia and the whole world. In the Motivational Phraseological Dictionary, Chisinau, 2023, whose author is the undersigned, it is proposed to conceive the genesis of stable polylexical units by indicating the type of motivation - the extralinguistic one, as well as by the aspect of their origin, they being indigenous and general. Indigenous polylexical units refer to the realities of the surrounding world: what describe daily life; what concerns professions and trades; with reference to man's exterior world; related to fauna; having military lexis; related to natural phenomena; taboo expressions. In the given communication, we will focus on some components of the given polylexical units that express some indigenous Romanian symbols and motifs, they being part of the language culture of our people. The motivation behind the origin of some stable polylexical units (SPU) is explained by the fact that they appeared on their own land, being indigenous, having their origin in the Romanian language, even if they have counterparts in other languages. When they appeared, SPU were initially denominative language units, motivated, when they named certain concrete facts from the surrounding world, or connotative units, motivated, in the case that the speaker expresses his/her attitude towards a certain fact in life. With the time, along with the evolution of language and society, some motivated SPU have remained motivated, their components or one of them keeping the meaning. The process of persuasion is applied daily, in everyday institutional and social contexts, etc., with the aim of convincing the other to believe, think and/or act in a certain way, to accept the “form”. The content disseminated in the public space often includes a persuasive valence, that is why is important to know the conceptual and functional aspects of persuasion, in order to be able to elaborate broad and complex analyses of media or advertising discourse. Persuasion is a complex process, through which an individual tries to influence/convince another individual or a group to adopt a certain opinion, behavior or action. The purpose of persuasion is to convince a person or a group of people, in order to change certain perceptions, attitudes, preferences, behaviors regarding a certain product, service, current, person, etc., according to their interests or desires or/and the goals of the sender, that is, the one trying to persuade. Propelled by a bouncing lyricism and by the sap of mythical folk headsprings, Grigore Vieru's poem brings back the literature of the 1960's to its aboriginal origins. The universe of the Vierean childhood rejects the artificial game, the partisan template, the glorious themes of the USSR, reconfiguring a new aesthetic picture of the child and childhood. Seen like a little demiurge, the Vierean child, an antipode of the child -hero, explores the mysteries of the rural adventure. Suggested from a series of correlated worlds, such as: the sunny world, the dendritic one, the celestial world, the plant world and others -, the ludic space depicts angelically the almighty mother's figure. Vieru's literature for (and about) children promotes, from the debut (1957) the general human values, guiding the infantile reader to the reveal of the great human aims. Accessible and close to the reader's needs, Vieru's literature for children became easily folkloric. Through the intermediate of the child, G.Vieru managed to reverse the models of the character from the whole space of Bessarabian literature, identifying it with an axiological landmark for all ages.The speechless games, the vocal games and rhymes, the ritual games with the sun rays and with the wheat influenced the importance of fraternal communion between the man and nature. Hidden after the mirrors of the games, Vieru’s child looks for a therapeutic remedy in order to heal the inner states caused by the war, the human loss and starvation. Vieru offers to his character the freedom to think and feel autonomous, without imposing his theses. The little reader is fascinated by the hero he discovers, appropriates and by the ludic adventure.
