Two camps have emerged in modern analytic philosophy. The “metaphysician” camp defends the metaphysics of science by arguing that the fundamental concepts of classical metaphysics can be enriched, illustrated, or justified by examples from scientific theories. The “philosophers of science” camp views this as yet another invasion of metaphysics into their scientific territory. They advocate a scientific or naturalized metaphysics that strictly corresponds to modern scientific theories. Since the concept of possible worlds is a key element of mainstream analytic metaphysics, proponents of the metaphysics of science find it natural to appeal to the many-worlds interpretation of quantum theory. In turn, proponents of naturalized metaphysics often use popular metaphysical systems to justify the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics. I will argue that the interpretation originally proposed by H. Everett remains only one of the ontologies of quantum theory, and attempts by philosophers of science to build a metaphysical construct on its basis encounter serious difficulties.","PeriodicalId":46795,"journal":{"name":"VOPROSY FILOSOFII","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141839673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lossky’s analysis of dialectical materialism from the point of view of the possibility of its development in the spirit of religious ideal realism, similar to Lossky’s own philosophy. Lossky contrasts Marxist epistemology as a theory of reflection with the ontological epistemology of intuitionism. At the same time, he contrasts the modern natural science concept with the philosophical understanding of matter as an objective reality. A desperately bold, even adventurous step is Lossky’s identification of the natural science concept of an “elementary particle” with the metaphysical concept of a substantial figure. The result of such operations is the substitution of the classical pair of matter and consciousness for another – bodily and mental. Lossky further shows that the world as an organic whole organized by the Creator is alien to dialectics. Thus, thanks to identifying “matter” and “corporeality” and depriving existence of internal contradiction as a source of self-movement, Lossky was able to define dialectical materialism as a kind of naturalism. But he sees that the naturalism of Soviet philosophers preserves the possibilities of its movement towards ideal realism; they see the world as an integrity of diverse connections, consider consciousness an integral property of matter and highly appreciate the active role of the conscious factor in changing being.","PeriodicalId":46795,"journal":{"name":"VOPROSY FILOSOFII","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141841132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Iskra Stepanovna Andreeva used to call her “Russian Diotima”, and Erikh Yurievich Solovyev called her an “incomparable interlocutor”. She had an amazing ability to speak simply, clearly, and historically substantively about complex subjects. Her works wonderfully combined subject’s depth, rationality of argumentation, relevance of the studied problems and existential insight into them. Her epistemological style turns out to be strikingly consonant with the Russian tradition of “positive philosophy”, which is based on the idea of concreteness, the aspiration to achieve a “single, internally connected, holistic, and concrete knowledge of reality”, as formulated by Gustav Gustavovich Shpet. This tradition also includes the philosophical concepts of Pamfil Danilovich Yurkevich, Princes Sergey Nikolaevich and Evgeny Nikolaevich Trubetskoy, Lev Mikhailovich Lopatin, and many others. The continuity of Piama Pavlovna’s epistemological style with the Russian intellectual tradition is also evidenced in the letter of Russian philosopher and bibliographer Pavel Khristoforovich Kananov (1883–1967), addresed to her (a drift dated 1966 was recently discovered in his archive). We assume that “improvised lucubrations in the midnight hour” written by an “existentialist before existentialism” will make us think once again about the specifics of existential philosophy in Russia. The concept of speciesism – the fundamental one in this thesis – is decomposed into two components: anthropocentrism and human chauvinism. The changeable and ambiguous nature of the interrelation of these components in European history is traced. It is argued that during this history two basic forms of anthropocentrism have changed: “naïve” and “refined”. At the same time, the second, characteristic of the creators of the scientific revolution of the XVI–XVII centuries, generally did not favor a chauvinistic attitude towards animals. A paradox is revealed that undermines the thesis of the liberationists. Its essence is that the oppression of animals in the West has increased dramatically in the modern era when for it, as Singer also admits, there were least of all religious or other ideological grounds that could go back to Christianity. Postulating the unavoidability of anthropocentrism from any system of ethics the author proves this by the example of the constructions of the liberationists. It also turns out that they themselves use a speciesist approach when it suits their interests. Finally, it is concluded that the way in which liberationists hope to alleviate the fate of animals cannot be effective, since it is based largely on incorrect assumptions.","PeriodicalId":46795,"journal":{"name":"VOPROSY FILOSOFII","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141844643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the same time, the obvious inadequacy of such a situation at the professional level often simply not only does not receive proper critical assessment from society and the state, but is even accepted as acceptable. In this regard, in a certain sense, classical examples of critical speech and truly creative work can again become salutary: the moral and philosophical asceticism of Socrates, L.N. Tolstoy, A. Schweitzer, A.A. Zinoviev. The sociocultural task of ensuring a truly fundamental level of professional ethics is substantiated. We are talking about complex types of activities, in relation to which “new ethics” often only decorate the façade of all sorts of dubious technologies used momentarily, without proper examination of the possible consequences and the cultivation of morality (goodness). For most people, forced to play by new rules on the socio-economic field, digital disruption in a certain sense means a trap. The phenomenon of imitation of professionalism is analyzed when one is limited to external effects, forgetting (or not wanting to know) about the socially assigned mission. The latter is called upon to be countered by moral philosophy as the basis of ethical expertise. The article positions not only the methodological tools, but also the motivation of the experts themselves, including lawyers, who must have the appropriate ethical and philosophical education, to consistently carry out analytical and evaluative work from the standpoint of moving towards the ideal.","PeriodicalId":46795,"journal":{"name":"VOPROSY FILOSOFII","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141845127","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The “classic” conception of qualia, on which qualia are intrinsic, ineffable, and subjective, will not serve this purpose, but it is widely assumed that a watered-down “diet” conception will. The author argues that this is wrong and that the diet notion of qualia has no distinctive content. There is no phenomenal residue left when qualia are stripped of their intrinsicality, ineffability, and subjectivity. Thus, if we reject classic qualia realism, we should accept that all that needs explaining are “zero” qualia – our dispositions to judge that our experiences have classic qualia. Diet qualia should, in Dennett’s phrase, be quined.","PeriodicalId":46795,"journal":{"name":"VOPROSY FILOSOFII","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141849665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, it is also known that he was an exceptional polymath and a person close to the ruling house of empire, and such social status along with his competence manifested themself in different areas of Ouyang Xun’s work; this article examines two of its aspects: taxonomy and writing of official documents glorifying the emperor. In the first area, Ouyang Xun acted as the main compiler and author of the great encyclopedia Yiwen leiju. Here he contributed to the expansion of the set of topics covered in such reference books. In particular, it was in this collection that the headings devoted to the topics of Buddhism and Taoism appeared for the first time. In the second area, Ouyang Xun became the creator of the earliest known official document, which explicitly stated the relationship of the ruling house of Tang and Lao-zi. In addition, this document continued the tradition of considering Lao-zi as the founder of Taoism and formed the image of Taoism as a doctrine close to Confucianism based on the classical literary heritage.","PeriodicalId":46795,"journal":{"name":"VOPROSY FILOSOFII","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141849894","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many-worlds are understood as modern physical hypotheses that allow the existence of other universes (many-world interpretation, chaotic inflation, string landscape, and others). It is shown that these models are likely to challenge the traditional intellectual intuition on which classical science is built: they require new methodological approaches, and perhaps a new epistemology in general. Some requirements of classical logic, based on principles such as the laws of non-contradiction or the excluded middle, may turn out to be incorrect and even counterintuitive under many-world hypotheses. It is suggested that some logical systems (paraconsistent logic, quantum logic) may in the future become an ontological and epistemological foundation for the concepts of many-world physical reality. It is concluded that the considered multi-world models in conjunction with the indicated logics are more intuitively acceptable, since they allow getting rid of not only a number of cosmological problems (for example, fine tuning), but also problems of a logical and mathematical nature arising from the considered traditional requirements for formal systems.","PeriodicalId":46795,"journal":{"name":"VOPROSY FILOSOFII","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141850887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The author investigates new sense that economists imply into traditional methodological grounds of Microeconomics. Based on classical marginalist microeconomic theory, contemporary Russian and World economists introduce new meanings and new interpretations into such important aspects of Microeconomics as microeconomic agents, choice and limitations for producers and consumers, market interactions and competition, time and space of microeconomic phenomena. New methodological grounds of Microeconomics in the sphere of decision-making are analysed on the ground of content-analysis. The process of economic choice in new conditions of the 21st century is based on deliberate consumption of economic goods and thoughtful limitations for time, place and number of alternatives when decision is made. Maximization of utility as the goal of behavior of a rational individual is replaced by the criterion of satisfaction and happiness which now form important elements of microeconomic analysis. New approaches to microeconomic models are formed on the ground of mathematical theories of dynamic chaos and nonlinear processes that allow to forecast more precisely microeconomic events in the era of turbulence. Stochastic concepts and differentiated games take the place of traditional statistical strict determinism of microeconomic theories and uncertainty acquires new depth as a fundamental pattern of functioning of microeconomic processes. The article specifies the motives and goals of individual and collective agents acting at micro level. Thus microeconomics of the 21st century has reconsidered its key philosophical grounds, which would contribute to a new paradigm of Microeconomic Analysis.","PeriodicalId":46795,"journal":{"name":"VOPROSY FILOSOFII","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141851062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article traces the ideological history of Eurasianism, highlights the main directions of thought on which it relies. The direct source of the current Eurasianism is classical Eurasianism, which was formed among the Russian emigration in the 1920s–1930s. We should not forget about two intermediate links in this chain of succession: on the one hand, the teachings of Lev N. Gumilyov, on the other hand, the concepts of the Slavophiles. If we look at it from the point of view of the history of Western thought, we will find that the origins of Eurasianism go back to the German romanticism of the late eighteenth century. Between the then German romanticism and modern Russian Eurasian thought, there is a clear ideological connection, a common spiritual orientation, which lies in the consciousness of uniqueness. Possessing the Russian national spirit, which is controlled by the consciousness of uniqueness, Russia, in the understanding of the representatives of this tradition of thought, is an independent and integral civilizational space, different from Europe and Asia, therefore Russia must follow a unique historical path.","PeriodicalId":46795,"journal":{"name":"VOPROSY FILOSOFII","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.2,"publicationDate":"2023-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48409215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"哲学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
