This study aims to investigate how multiple risks jointly affect innovation performance in CoPS projects. Based on the configurational theory and WSR framework, we use fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) with data from 97 CoPS projects and examine the combined effects of risks on innovation performance. We identify two types leading to high innovation performance and four patterns causing low innovation performance. The results verify the asymmetrical causality of the influence of risks on innovation performance in CoPS projects. The findings contribute to broadening the relationship studies of risk and innovation performance by adopting an empirical method in the context of CoPS. Moreover, our study can help managers implement flexible risk management activities within CoPS projects, by addressing several equivalent and distinctive paths.","PeriodicalId":45882,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering Business Management","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.3,"publicationDate":"2024-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"142254643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These disruptions have particularly affected and increased lead times and caused frequent shipment delays. The causes of these disruptions, especially in the context of distribution of goods and FMCG towards inventory control, have been widely speculated upon in recent years. Given the recent interruptions, the study presented in this paper used a methodology called statistical model analysis (SMA) to study the impact of human factors (HFs) on the system performance in a warehouse distribution system. A case study was taken on a particular company called ABC and XYZ to model the impact of some specific HF such as job fatigue, and job rotation to name a few and to uncover the underlying reasons behind the ongoing disruptions within the distribution system. Specifically, the result of this study aims to provide a data-driven understanding of these issues and one of the contributions of this study is to enhance our understanding of the significance of these HFs, rather than focusing on the equipment and materials as seen in prior research. Through this data-based approach study, stakeholders in operations management, e-commerce, and the supply chain system would be well-informed in many ways to resolve the challenges faced by humans in the system towards enhancing their overall system performance.","PeriodicalId":45882,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering Business Management","volume":"79 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.3,"publicationDate":"2024-08-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141942464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study investigates the factors influencing the adoption intention of the metaverse and its impact on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) performance, employing the technology-organization-environment (TOE) framework. A cross-sectional analysis involving 173 owners/senior managers of SMEs in Canada was conducted to develop a conceptual model. Exploratory factor analysis and Cronbach’s alpha were employed to assess the questionnaire’s validity and reliability. Correlation, regression analysis, and Baron and Kenny’s method were used to evaluate relationships and mediation effects. The findings revealed seven significant factors influencing SMEs’ metaverse adoption intention. Notably, anxiety, security, and privacy did not impact adoption intention. Conversely, a positive correlation emerged between metaverse adoption intention and SME performance. The study demonstrated that metaverse adoption intention fully mediated the relationship between predictors and performance, with the indirect effect moderated by relationship qualities (RQs) like service experience and customer engagement. These insights provide decision-makers with valuable guidance for prioritizing essential factors crucial for successful metaverse technology implementation in SMEs.","PeriodicalId":45882,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering Business Management","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.3,"publicationDate":"2024-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141194668","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the lack of knowledge and guidance in this area, the adoption of smart technology throughout the supply chain is limited, leading to poor operational performance. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate how smart technology and digital supply chain transformation can improve operational performance. To test hypotheses and accomplish study goals, the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory was combined with a quantitative research strategy. The study population of companies was obtained from a manufacturing directory, and a minimum sample size of 107 companies was determined using G*Power. Additionally, 600 online surveys were sent to the manufacturing companies, resulting in a response rate of 17.83%. Data analysis was conducted using Smart-PLS 4.0 software, and eight of the 10 hypotheses were supported. The findings showed that smart technologies completely mediate the link between digital transformation and relationship performance, emphasizing the need for manufacturing organizations to focus on incorporating smart technology into their supply chain to enhance operational performance. The study concludes by presenting theoretical and practical implications, limitations, and recommendations.","PeriodicalId":45882,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering Business Management","volume":"86 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.3,"publicationDate":"2024-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140197536","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, these goals are difficult to be achieved when finances are not mobilized to mitigate harmful resources. In return, numerous green bond manifestations appeared in the market, which are viewed as a bridge to have successful implementation of sustainable development goals. Therefore, the study is aimed to explore the relevance of green bonds, financialization, and sustainable environmental change mitigation technologies for environmental change in ASEAN economies. The initial outcomes confirm the long-run cointegration association between study variables and also explore the slope heterogeneity and cross-sectional dependencies. To explore the causal connections between the study variables, the current study employs CS-ARDL technique. The study finds significant contributions of sustainable environmental change mitigation technologies and green bonds in the reduction of pollution, hence improving climate quality. The short-run infers similar results with relatively lower magnitudes of coefficients as compared to the long-run. Negative error correction terms are used to confirm the stability of the model, which implies sustained convergence towards “steady-state equilibrium” in case of expected deviations. The results offer practical implications and recommendations.","PeriodicalId":45882,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering Business Management","volume":"14 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.3,"publicationDate":"2024-03-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140070309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study showed that organisational culture has a role in moderating the relationship between team cohesion and project success, and its significance in this regard was also examined. Workers on several construction projects in Pakistan were contacted and provided information for this study. The data was analysed utilising the regression analysis in SPSS and partial least squares in SMART PLS, and it has been found that emotional intelligence significantly influences project success. Relationships between emotional intelligence and project success are both favourable and statistically significant. Emotionally astute colleagues can help teams to build stronger bonds with one another. Furthermore, the organisational culture positively and significantly impacts the relationship between a successful project and a cohesive team.","PeriodicalId":45882,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering Business Management","volume":"160 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.3,"publicationDate":"2024-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140070214","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Studies have shown that organizations are not necessarily even aware of the current primary function of technical management (TM) because their internal procedures are not currently modeled. This results in a lack of efficiency in terms of how businesses operate in organizations. This study aims to create internal procedure manuals for the technical support function of a case company and considers how to pinpoint areas for process improvement. Since TM is a part of the case company internally, it has not been able to update its internal procedure charts to reflect this, so cannot show its current roles in the surrounding organization. The methodology of this study is separated into two stages: modeling swim lane diagrams describing the existing state (as-is) of TM processes and then conducting semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders to ascertain their expectations and suggestions for change. Thematic analysis of the interview data and performing a comparison with the current procedure charts are used to determine whether or not TM’s procedures can be strengthened to better assist the surrounding organization. The study concludes that further actions are needed to clarify the role of TM in ways other than in the sub-process task level in the procedure charts of the case company. In addition, TM could conduct further analysis to optimize the case company’s business processes to achieve maximum benefit in the future.","PeriodicalId":45882,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering Business Management","volume":"45 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.3,"publicationDate":"2024-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139955589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, they are open to collaboration throw inter-organizational workflows to achieve common objectives. Thus, organizations could thereby adapt to highly dynamic environments and abrupt sudden changes like during epidemics. One of the particular interests for security researchers is to ensure workflow resiliency, which means ensuring the completion of the workflow execution given a defined set of security constraints without violating the security policy. However, the rigid application of security constraints restricts some task-organization assignments, which leads to the workflow satisfiability problem. Moreover, a wise selection of collaborating organizations is very important for secure resilient inter-organizational workflow execution. Therefore, we aim in this paper to propose a resilient inter-organizational workflow assignment plan selection approach to select a valid task-organization plan that allows a resilient inter-organizational workflow complete execution. Our proposed approach, uses the task priority concept, Bayesian inference, and a hybrid multi-criteria decision-making approach based on the methods Analytical Hierarchical Process and Grey Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution. As a result, the proposed approach selects the best assignment plan for a resilient execution of the Inter-Organizational Workflow, in addition to delegates for each task-organization assignment if available.","PeriodicalId":45882,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering Business Management","volume":"46 19","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.3,"publicationDate":"2024-01-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139384820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on pertinent lack of critical literature narrative about the practice of cost management in the oil and gas sector generally and in Nigeria specifically, this study evaluated the issues inhibiting cost management of oil refinery. Using a purposive sample size of 36 construction professionals in the oil and gas sector obtained through snowballing in Rivers state, Nigeria, structured questionnaire was employed to collect data that were analysed using mean item score and Chi-Square. The result revealed that issues dealing with low education, skills, estimating efficiency, non-involvement of core cost management professionals and change in scope as critical issues for affecting the efficiency of cost management in oil refinery construction projects. All the 25 factors evaluated were significant mean item scores (3.01 - 3.94) and the null hypothesis was rejected (p-values < 0.000) to show the consistency of the mean ranking. The study buttresses that inadequate cost management practice in the Nigerian oil and gas sector is due to this range of factors. Recommendations towards improving the state of cost management practice in the sector are directed towards the need to improve the validated barriers as precursors of inefficiencies in the sector.","PeriodicalId":45882,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Engineering Business Management","volume":"35 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.3,"publicationDate":"2023-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87264947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
