While the basics of the procedure have been extensively documented, applying the methodology to complicated functions of model variables remains uncharted territory, often resulting in cumbersome and error-prone calculations. This paper offers a procedure – the log-linear product approach – that automates and simplifies this task, as I show with a full working example. Further, we test which of the learning methods (traditional, online, and hybrid) is preferred by Romanian students in economics in this unusual context. Using a sample of 1415 students from five major Romanian faculties of economics and applying ordinal and bivariate logit regressions models, we found that psychological distress and increased concerns about COVID-19 pandemic have a negative effect on learning effectiveness. Also, our results revealed that the students who face problems related to unsatisfactory internet access, insufficient time due to other familial issues, who have inadequate working space at home and also the male ones are more likely to be less effective in their online learning process. Finally, the university infrastructure for online activities decreases the likelihood that students will perceive online studies as less effective.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":45496,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Economics Education","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2021-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1016/j.iree.2021.100218","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71855813","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"经济学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sokolova","doi":"10.30525/2500-946x/2021-1-6","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30525/2500-946x/2021-1-6","url":null,"abstract":"This article is devoted to the peculiarities of human resources evaluation in enterprises. The human resources evaluation has a special place in human resource management, because it allows you to identify the actual situation in an enterprise, find disadvantages and weaknesses in management, so that you can provide recommendations basing on its results. The main purpose of the study was to develop the theoretical principles for assessing human resources, which should establish the level of quantitative and qualitative characteristics in the terms of determining the state of motivation and efficiency for human resources. In the study, the authors stressed on the cyclical nature of human resource management in an enterprise. At the same time, in their opinion, the human resources evaluation takes a special place because it makes all actions passing through the human resources management system. The authors also stressed on the impact of motivation upon an enterprise efficient operation, and including but not limiting to the human resources. They found that motivation has a special relevance for human resource management, and thus is gained by solving such problems as coordination, matching up of the needs and means, motives and goals of human resources and an enterprise as a whole, identification and resolution of emerging contradictions between these goals and needs of human resources and an enterprise. Solving these problems is possible after a comprehensive evaluation of an enterprise’s human resources. The authors propose to conduct a comprehensive evaluation in clearly defined areas: quantitative and qualitative evaluation, evaluation of the motivational state of human resources, and the final stage is to evaluate the efficiency of using Enterprise Human Resources. In the result of such evaluation, the administrative goal of human resource management will be achieved due to adoption of sound administrative decisions; thus, the information goal will be achieved as well, which is that both employees and managers have the opportunity to obtain reliable information about the activities; of course, the motivational goal of evaluation itself is among the most important means of motivating people's behaviour. In the authors’ opinion, their proposed theoretical approach to the evaluation of human resources, which is implemented due to identifying the level of quantitative and qualitative characteristics of human resources’ motivation and efficiency, will lead to conscious human resource management.","PeriodicalId":45496,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Economics Education","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2021-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80342634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"经济学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The shipbuilding 4.0 methodology is being introduced in the industry, which is based on the advanced technologies of the fourth industrial revolution. The aim of the article is to study the models and mechanisms for portfolio management of shipbuilding and ship repair enterprises on the basis of modern information technology for the effective implementation of strategic goals and sustainable development. The basis of the organizational and methodological support of portfolio management of shipbuilding enterprises is a system of planning and accounting units. This is a three-level model for the shipbuilding work breakdown. The first level of work breakdown consists of shop stages (list of works performed by a certain production department). The second level of work breakdown is technological sets that are being formed in the process of production planning on the principles of structural and technological unity of work and are the basic elements in the intershop operational management. Technological operations are carried out at the third level of work breakdown (brigade sets). At the upper levels of shipbuilding work breakdown, all the key features of project management take place. Technological sets are recommended to be used as an information and analytical basis when developing the network models at the upper levels of structural work breakdown. The methodology for portfolio management of projects of a shipbuilding enterprise described in the article is aimed at aligning the goals and objectives of individual projects and the portfolio as a whole with the strategic plans of the enterprise.","PeriodicalId":45496,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Economics Education","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2021-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86720192","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"经济学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology. The survey is based on a study of the main trends in the field of logistics infrastructure development, analysis of the latest forms and methods of using artificial intelligence technologies in various fields. The study considers the forecasts of IDC “IDC Future Scape: Worldwide Digital Transformation 2021” and contains an assessment of the volume and effectiveness of investment in this area. The results of the survey showed that in addition to the radical transformation of the logistics network itself, the use of artificial intelligence technologies will lead to qualitative changes in the labor market. There is still the tendency to reduce the need for logisticians performing operational functions – automation of warehousing operations, unmanned stackers, and transporters instead of loaders and pickers will accelerate. Practical implications. The use of artificial intelligence technologies allows companies today to generate significant competitive advantages on this basis. However, soon this will not be an advantage, an indisputable condition for the company’s operation in the market of logistics services in general. Value/originality. The authors have highlighted the minimum quality and competencies required in the future, the presence of which in the company’s resource base will allow to use all the advantages of implementing innovative forms of piece intelligence - multi-competent knowledge in the areas of IT technologies, procurement and warehouse, transport, production and distribution logistics, mathematical analysis, and production management processes based on artificial intelligence.","PeriodicalId":45496,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Economics Education","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2021-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73075332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"经济学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Regulatory and institutional mechanisms of both national and global civil society organisations directly affect the funding potential of the state and its people. In addition, the state also plays an important role both in financing transnational activities and in facilitating or hindering the inflow of funds through the establishment of various tax regimes. In view of this, the study of CSOs funding by donor funds of international financial institutions (IFIs) is appropriate because civil society organisations are a necessary precondition for the establishment of a democratic world order. The article is devoted to the study of the main trends and aspects of interaction between international financial institutions and civil society organisations in terms of financial support of the latter. The author analyses the mechanisms of financing civil society organisations by the World Bank Group based on statistical information and research of international institutions. The article also examines the sectoral structure of projects and the regional structure of partners in the framework of the Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA) as a fundamental financial mechanism of the World Bank. The author outlines the relationship between civil society organisations and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The purpose of the article is to study and analyse the financial mechanisms of the World Bank as the main donor for the financial support of civil society organisations. Methodology. This study is based on the use of the methodological principle of unity of theory and practice. The methodological basis of the article includes the methods of quantitative and qualitative comparisons, analysis and synthesis, and systems-structural analysis.","PeriodicalId":45496,"journal":{"name":"International Review of Economics Education","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2021-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77787647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"经济学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
