The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is formed by territories that possess a variety of unique characteristics, languages, values, and symbols that originate from the culture of the Indonesian people. The results showed that good social relations in the Sentani Indigenous community are inseparable from customary law, which has been respected and upheld by indigenous peoples. The values of peace in local wisdom must be maintained and developed in a dynamic concept. As a concept, local wisdom is always open to the possibility of challenges and opportunities.","PeriodicalId":45345,"journal":{"name":"Migration Letters","volume":"144 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.7,"publicationDate":"2023-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139279322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective was to analyze the influence of commercial informality on the quality of life of traders in Jazan, Amazonas - 2022, with the purpose of identifying and charting paths towards formalization that contribute to improving their well-being and economic development. The research design was characterized by a mixed approach, combining non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive, and correlational methods, using Spearman's Rho. In-depth interviews and a comparative analysis of secondary data were conducted. The population consisted of 160 traders, with a sample of 88, selected through intentional non-probabilistic technique. A 20-question questionnaire and SPSS v26 software were used for analysis. The research provides a comprehensive view of formalization and its influence on regional well-being and development, validated through Cronbach's Alpha test: 0.885, identified from a pilot test of 15 items. Commercial informality acts as a guiding light that has revealed the complex reality of traders. By charting paths towards formalization, we have explored the transformative potential of this process on the quality of life of those involved. In conclusion, it is demonstrated that formalization not only translates into a positive impact on traders' income and job security but also profoundly influences their emotional well-being and personal development.","PeriodicalId":45345,"journal":{"name":"Migration Letters","volume":"41 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.7,"publicationDate":"2023-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139279626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By using the PLS-SEM method with 330 observations, the study demonstrated that the positive impacts of the State Bank of Vietnam's monetary policies will aid in promoting Vietnam's transition to the circular economy, either when the State Bank offers a contractionary or expansionary or sustainable monetary policy. Moreover, when a country receives foreign direct investment, it tends to encourage companies' ability to create green, environmentally friendly products. Foreign direct investment inflows also stimulate a country to the transition to circular economy. Our research highlights the regulatory factor of Foreign Direct Investment capital that will increase 0.204 and 0.07 levels of impact between stable and expansionary monetary policy on the shift to circular economy. The results of this study contribute new factors in the theory of circular economy as well as policy implications for the State Bank of Vietnam, thereby aiding in the State Bank's development of an appropriate monetary policy to encourage foreign direct investment and the transition to the circular economy.","PeriodicalId":45345,"journal":{"name":"Migration Letters","volume":"17 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.7,"publicationDate":"2023-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139279652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent decades, the trend in these cities has been population growth in urban areas with signs of corruption. Context where governance is in charge of municipal or municipal authorities. The main purpose of the research was to determine the relationship between governance and citizen satisfaction, taking into account citizen participation, development in the educational field and citizens' expectations of governance with a view to the future. For this purpose, a correlational descriptive research was carried out with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 320 male and female villagers aged between 18 and 70 years. For data collection, the survey technique was used and the questionnaire was used as an instrument, which included 20 questions. The main findings are that the relationship between governance and citizen satisfaction is low. Similarly, citizen participation in public works is low, as well as attention to educational services is low. For this reason, the population has no greater expectations for the development of their peoples. Consequently, governance in the intermediate cities of Ancash needs to be modernized, reinvented and enable citizen participation in the planning and execution of public works in order to respond with relevance according to each specific reality.","PeriodicalId":45345,"journal":{"name":"Migration Letters","volume":"30 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.7,"publicationDate":"2023-11-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139279207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Abortion induced by mifepristone is often accompanied by distressing side effects, prompting the exploration of safer alternatives. Nigella sativa seeds were processed into coarse powder through grinding and subjected to ethanolic and aqueous extractions. Pregnant mice were administered extracts at 400 milligrams per kilogram of body weight, with a comparison group receiving 2.85 mg/kg p.o. of mifepristone. The study showed a significant decrease in fetal survival rates with nigella sativa extract treatment with the untreated control group exhibiting a 100% survival rate and the 400 mg/kg p.o. Dose groups showed rates of 26.66% for aqueous extract and 33.33% for ethanolic extract. Importantly, none of the fetuses in the mifeprin-treated group survived. The results indicate a promising 70% abortion rate with well-tolerated doses of Nigella sativa extracts, highlighting the potential for natural alternatives to mitigate the side effects associated with mifepristone administration. This research underscores the importance of exploring botanical sources for safer and more tolerable options in induced abortion.","PeriodicalId":45345,"journal":{"name":"Migration Letters","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.7,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139288501","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this, we employed instrumental variable technique and utilized longitudinal data of India Human Development Survey. After correcting for endogeneity bias results obtained from our econometric analysis reinforce the urgent need to focus on poverty transition in rural households and highlight the positive and significant role of the amount and frequency of remittances in alleviating poverty. Additionally, access to credit, government subsidies, and educational attainment substantially improves rural households’ economic condition and helps them to escape poverty. Education can be a magical tool to deal with poverty, so there is need to restore the quality of education in rural areas. Thus, in order to achieve poverty elimination goal, there is a need to integrate migration and poverty while considering policy measures. Given the importance of amount and frequency of remittances in poor households, it is imperative from policy perspective to focus upon the channels of smoothing the flow of external finance and make it more sustainable.","PeriodicalId":45345,"journal":{"name":"Migration Letters","volume":"57 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.7,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139288510","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hiring in the public sector is often determined by networks and clientelism. The exchange of favours and loyalty to a patron are the “normal” ways to access economic opportunities. As a result, a considerable portion of the population considers emigration as the only path to succeed. The main objective of this study is to analyse the impact of corruption on Western Balkan migrant stocks over the years from 2012 to 2020. The selected time period depends mainly on data availability and frequency. A gravity-based equation is developed to explain changes in the number of immigrants living in 31 European destinations. The proposed econometric model confirms the statistical significance of corruption variables in migrant stocks of receiving countries. Individuals tend to move from countries with high levels of corruption and poor governance toward richer and less corrupt destinations.","PeriodicalId":45345,"journal":{"name":"Migration Letters","volume":"17 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.7,"publicationDate":"2023-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139288225","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
