Public policy is influenced by several environments, namely, the manufacturing environment, the implementation environment, and evaluation environment. This study aims to investigate the implementation of public information service within the environment of the Secretariat General of the House of People’s Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI), as well as to determine whether the public information service within the environment of the Secretariat General of the House of People’s Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) has been optimal as expected by the society. The approach in this study uses the normative approach; an approach taken to analyze the extent to which a regulation is in force and implemented effectively. In this case, the approach used is to analyze a wide range of operations of the public information services in accordance with the policies issued by the House of People’s Representatives (DPR) which then applied on the Secretariat General of the House of People’s Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) in accordance with the policy. The study result reveals that transparency in public information services provides a significant impact to the society as service users. Based on the study result, it is indicated that the Bureau of Public Relations of the Secretariat General of the House of People’s Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) has been able to apply the principles of transparency on public information. It is based on the implementation model of Van Metter and Van Horn’s public policy. This study uses qualitative approach. The data were collected using literature study, document study, and field observation. The data analysis uses descriptive analysis method. The conclusions of this research are: The implementation of flood prevention policy in Jokowi-Ahok administration is a continuation from the implementation of flood prevention policy in the previous administration. The continuation of policy implementation in Jokowi-Ahok administration seems to be more prominent because Jokowi-Ahok set their first-year development policy focused on the efforts to overcome some prolonged development problems which are very urgent to be handled, such as flood, puddle, tidal flood, slum areas, and municipal infrastructure. The policy standard and purpose of flood prevention in Jokowi-Ahok administration can be considered quite optimal and comprehensive. Policy resources which include apparatus, facilities and infrastructure, and regulations are sufficiently optimal although there is a shortage in financing resources. Inter-organizational Communication, including horizontal communication, has been performed by Jokowi to variety of groups who have interests in flood prevention and flood victims. In addition, the characteristics of policy implementation agencies for flood prevention are the characteristics of Regional Working Unit (SKPD) formed from the distribution of government authority and the commentary of duties and functions of SKPD. Economic, social, and political conditions related to flood prevention influence the implementation of flood prevention policy in Jakarta because almost all of economic actors and economic activities, as well as almost social activities, politicians, and political activities had interests in flood prevention and in handling the impacts of flood in the capital. The disposition of implementers in flood prevention policy implementation, which influence the performance of flood prevention policy, can actually be arranged, directed, and controlled by Jakarta Provincial Government. The anticipation is performed by implementing the function of inherent supervisory, functional supervision, and community supervision. The study plays an important role in e-commerce-related industrial spatial layout, industrial structure optimization and balanced development of a regional economy. First of all, the paper studies the basic spatial pattern of e-commerce in Zhejiang province at city scale, and then further analyzes spatial development characteristics of e-commerce and its influencing factors in the province at the county level. All the investigation is conducted using a spatial analysis tool in ArcGIS and regression analysis in SPSS. Conditions that can cause floods include heavy or/and long-steady rain for several hours or days where excess water saturates the ground. Long term precipitation forecast may not be totally dependable, therefore a new estimation method capable of predicting upcoming flood events with high degree of accuracy is required. The information from rain gauges and radar data can be critical inputs for the new flood warning system. A flood estimation method was developed incorporating an algorithm that processes inputs namely the rainfall rate information, horizontal and vertical profile of radar reflectivity values. The rainfall rate data, cloud thickness values, and the sizes of the clouds during the 2014 flood disaster were acquired and analyzed. The periods of measurement involve rain events before, during and after the flood tragedy. The study was carried out using 14 days of precipitation phenomena observed in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia from 13 December 2014 until 26 December 2014. The derived flood estimator algorithm acquired in this research can be very useful to predict flood tragedy in the future. This research employs quantitative approach with a survey to 120 respondents as a sample of all population of active employees in the multinational company, PetroChina International Indonesia, as its’ primary data source. The result of correlation analysis shows that there is a strong relation between ethnocentrism and intercultural communication effectiveness with the influence of relation tends to be negative. This gives the impression that the higher the ethnocentrism, the lower the intercultural communication effectiveness. The focus of this subject is to improve students’ oral communication. However, it is not easy in obtaining good speaking ability. This research aims to descriptively identify the constraints faced by students in obtaining good speaking ability as well as to look for the solutions. The formulation of the problems to be addressed are: (1) What are the constraints faced by students in speaking? (2) What kinds of learning materials do the students want in order to they are able to improve their speaking ability? and (3) What kinds of teaching models should be used by the lecturers so that the students feel motivated to learn? This research was conducted during odd semester of academic year 2014-2015. In total 48 students from 16 available departments at Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Riau University were randomly chosen as the sample. The instrument used was a semi-structured interview, observation and documents observation. All the interviews were tape-recorded and transcribed word by word. The sampling was done by using accidental sampling method. The research data were collected from those paying taxes and registered as taxpayers in Kademangan Village, South Tangerang, Indonesia. The samples consist of 100 respondents, where the sampling technique applied is multiple linear in SPSS ver. 22. The results of this study confirm that partially measured variables of taxation knowledge—i.e. knowledge on tax function, tax amnesty policy, tax amnesty application procedures, and tax amnesty rates—on the public perception in the implementation of tax amnesty policy show positive and significant impacts. The variables of usability as measured by the effectiveness, usability, and satisfaction degree of public perception in the application of tax amnesty policy have positive and significant impacts. Variable of tax amnesty penalty is measured by the administrative sanctions imposed severely as a means to educate the taxpayers. Tax penalties, imposed without tolerance and negotiation, have positive and significant impact on the public perception in the implementation of tax amnesty policy. This paper aims at reviewing and summarizing some of the developments in Urban mobility, smart waste management and smart retail solutions that are being implemented in various cities. Use of mobile apps, congestion pricing, interconnected mass transit systems are fostering growth of urban mobility adoption rapidly. In similar lines Smart Waste Management solutions are also moving beyond simple sensor based waste collection binds to integrated waste recovery and disposal systems driven by ICT applications, through management of data on all levels by all stakeholders.
