Behaviour of the power system faults changes in the presence of FACTS devices. Accurate detection of these faults is essentially required for providing effective power system protection and relaying system. This paper presents an approach for the transmission line faults in the presence of Thyristor switched capacitor (TSC). Investigated faults include line to ground (LG), double line (LL), double line to ground (LLG) and three phase fault involving ground (LLLG). The median based fault index is calculated from the S-matrix of the voltage and current for the investigated faults. The study has been carried out using a test system and results have been validated in MATLAB/Simulink environment.","PeriodicalId":446667,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science (SCEECS)","volume":"195 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123561770","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has become confronts to fulfil the remarkable growth in demand of electrical power. The renewable energy resources (RES) include solar, wind, hydro, biomass, etc are eco-friendly and provide clean output. This paper deals with the Battery energy storage system (BESS) based Distributed Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) to control the voltage and frequency of constant speed prime mover driven self excited induction generator (SEIG) for feeding 3-phase 4-wire loads. Further, this paper also presents the comparison of Proportional Integral (PI) controller and Fuzzy Logic (FL) controller for voltage and frequency regulation. The FL controller works faster than PI and improves the performance of SEIG. The drawback of SEIG is poor voltage regulation and it requires an adjustable reactive power source with varying loads to maintain constant terminal voltage. A three phase insulated gate bipolar transistor based current controlled voltage source converter working as a DSTATCOM is used for harmonic mitigation, load leveller, load balancing and neutral current compensator. The proposed system is modelled and simulated in MATLAB/ simpower system.","PeriodicalId":446667,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science (SCEECS)","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116262125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The high-performance applications of PMSM use vector control principle. The vector control operation of PMSM renders its operation equivalent to that of a separately excited machine by decoupling the torque and flux producing components of stator currents. Field oriented control algorithm is derived from dynamic model of PMSM. This paper presents performance analysis of field-oriented control of permanent magnet synchronous motor drives by using hysteresis controller and PWM current controller. The important role play in digital retinal image is Vessel segmentation in diagnosis of various diseases. In this paper we have been working on most important portion which is segmentation of blood vessel. Blood vessels are segmented via top-hat and h-maxima methods and for classification Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) technique can be used to get better accuracy. The network is trained in such a manner that it automatically segments the blood vessels and classify weather it is normal or abnormal. High-end graphics processor unit i.e. GPU system is used for training on largely available images and display the outputs, and this also works for high-level classification task. We have implemented this on two publicly available databases (DRIVE and STARE). The performance parameter involves during classification are accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity [4].","PeriodicalId":446667,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science (SCEECS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122425144","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also the data prices too are very much affordable to most of the people. This has resulted into the digitization of most of the institutes as it is easy and convenient for the people and also for the authority to maintain the records. So, it resulted in most of the banks and other institutes receiving and transferring money through credit cards. But with the hackers and other cyber criminals around there is always chances of the frauds in the transactions. The possibility of the fraud transaction is very less but it is not negligible and even having one fraud transaction is unacceptable because it is crime and we can’t neglect it even if it is very less as it harms both the customer and credibility of the institute. So this paper aims at analyzing various classification techniques using various metrics for judging various classifiers. This model aims at improving fraud detection rather than misclassifying a genuine transaction as fraud.","PeriodicalId":446667,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science (SCEECS)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116879730","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ELM suffers from the problem of instability due to random initialization of weights between the input and the hidden layer. Voting Based Extreme Learning Machine, VELM uses majority voting based ensembling technique to reduce this instability problem and improve the performance of ELM. VELM gives better performance at the cost of increased computational and memory requirement. This paper orders the component classifiers of the ensemble as per their importance using three different metrics: G-mean, Entropy and Margin based ordering. The pruned ensemble is constructed by selecting a threshold number of component classifiers as per their order of importance. The main aim of this work is to find which of these metric is more efficient for pruning VELM. This work presents an exhaustive analysis of these ordering metrics for varying sizes of pruned ensemble.","PeriodicalId":446667,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Students' Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science (SCEECS)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114564153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
