The PZG was characterized using chirp and wideband random excitations. The experimental results showed that by proper shaping of an attached cantilever beam it is possible to increase the number of vibration modes of the PZG and, hence, to improve the effectiveness of the energy harvesting as compared with a conventional cantilever PZG configuration. The proposed structure was designed to produce 3 vibration modes, which extend the operation around the frequencies 35Hz, 57Hz and 76Hz. As a result, the bandwidth was widened by a factor of 2.81 as compared with a conventional harvester.","PeriodicalId":443634,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE XXXIII International Scientific Conference Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO)","volume":"28 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133659983","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To visualize the images formed by the pulsed X-ray radiation, an adjustable duration of accumulation on the CCD camera was used. The relative sensitivity of the control is determined by the intersection of dependences of the luminance and threshold contrast on the size of the defect. The comparison of calculated and experimental values of the relative sensitivity of control is made in this paper.","PeriodicalId":443634,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE XXXIII International Scientific Conference Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115034784","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The microstrip stub controlling is realized by detaching a part of the stub from the substrate. The air gap between the substrate and the signal electrode is the heterogeneity which controls the stub effective permittivity, in this way providing a resonance frequency shift. By moving the stub 50 microns the resonance frequency is shifted about 1 GHz. An equivalent circuit model of the resonator is developed. Calculation results are in good agreement with finite-difference time-domain method (FDTD) and finite elements method (FEM) simulations.","PeriodicalId":443634,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE XXXIII International Scientific Conference Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123559701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sensors are in the form of metal patterns printed on planar substrates, and the type of both the metal and the substrate used alters the sensitivity of the sensor. In particular, changes in the response of these sensors in the microwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum when in contact with deionised water of 10-350 μl volumes and polyvinyl cellulose in 0.15-0.60 mm thicknesses are used as an indicator of volume/thickness respectively. Resonant peaks change their frequency and amplitude depending on the type and amount of material brought in contact with the sensor. This method offers increased sensitivity, real-time response and non-destructive evaluation of material type and profile, which can be used for structural health monitoring, for concealed target detection and security, and in a range of biomedical applications.","PeriodicalId":443634,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE XXXIII International Scientific Conference Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125977461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The VCO circuit is based on a junction field effect transistor (JFET) in combination with a current mirror (CM). Mathematical model of the proposed VCO is described and the start-up conditions are determined. The designed VCO covers the frequency band between 139.8 and 256.2 MHz. It has a phase noise of -111.1 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset from carrier, consumes only 6.2mW, suppresses harmonics to better than -31dBc, and achieves a very good figure of merit (FOM) performance of -190 dBc/Hz. The implemented VHF VCO generates low-noise low-distortion signal confirming simulation results.","PeriodicalId":443634,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE XXXIII International Scientific Conference Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO)","volume":"3 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116765125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
