As the country need to import diverse products so foreign trade is extremely important to country. India exports vast number of products and also imports an equal amount of other products. Although India has steadily opened up its economy, its tariffs continue to be high when compared with other countries, and its investment norms are still restrictive. This leads some to see India as a ‘rapid globalizer’ while others still see it as a ‘highly protectionist’ economy. Nonetheless, in recent years, the government’s stand on trade and investment policy has displayed a marked shift from protecting ‘producers’ to benefiting ‘consumers’. India is now aggressively pushing for a more liberal global trade regime, especially in services. This paper is an attempt to analyse the major changes in volume, composition and direction of Indian Foreign Trade.","PeriodicalId":443021,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Educator: Courses","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127101267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The work undertaken is for the compressor base frame (skid). The weight of existing base frame is much higher than the required, which means it is over designed. It was essential to reduce the weight ultimately reducing the cost of it. Hence, the work is focused on design and analysis of compressor base frame to reduce the weight. The weight of existing skid is 4100 Kg and weight of the assembly mounted on it is 9420 kg. The frame has been modified in four different way like I-beams have been replaced by C-channels, removed the C-channels at some places if not required, reduced the thickness of the plates used to mount the motor etc. The free vibration analysis has been carried out to check the occurrence of the resonance and also determined the natural frequencies experimentally using FFT analyzer to validate the results. Similarly, the stress analysis has been carried out and observed that all the modified frames are safe under the various loads acting on it. The weight upto 19 % would have been reduced.","PeriodicalId":443021,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Educator: Courses","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116029252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, it explicitly shows the relation among the three rates involved in the model, namely, the project investment rate (PIR), the project financing rate (PFR), the cost of capital (COC). Their role as drivers of value creation is analyzed in detail. The paper also shows how to remove the original stringent assumptions which makes this important model not adequate for use in real-life contexts. Specifically, we remove the assumption according to which PIR and PFR are constant and are mathematically derived assuming one of them is equal to the COC; we show that they are easily derived from the actual estimates of the project’s prospective revenues and costs, as weighted means of the period returns on capital. An average return on capital (ROC) will be shown to be the unique project rate of return.","PeriodicalId":443021,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Educator: Courses","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114197201","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Computational thinking is a fundamental skill for everybody, not just for computer scientists. It has been promoted as skills that are as fundamental for all as numeracy and literacy. According to authorities in the field, the best way to characterize computational thinking is the way in which computer scientists think and the manner in which they reason how computer scientists think for the rest of us. Core concepts in computational thinking include such notions as algorithmic thinking, abstraction, decomposition, and generalization. This raises several issues and challenges that still need to be addressed, including the fundamental characteristics of computational thinking and its relationship with modeling patterns (e.g., object-oriented) that lead to programming/coding. Thinking pattern refers to recurring templates used by designers in thinking. In this paper, we propose a representation of thinking activity by adopting a thinking pattern called thinging that utilizes a diagrammatic technique called thinging machine (TM). We claim that thinging is a valuable process as a fundamental skill for everybody in computational thinking. The viability of such a proclamation is illustrated through examples and a case study.","PeriodicalId":443021,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Educator: Courses","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131135531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Communication represents sharing of information which can be local or remote. Though local communications may occur face to face between individuals remote communications take place among people over long distances. Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are becoming an interesting part of research due to the increasing growth of wireless devices (laptops, tablets, mobiles etc.) and as well as wireless internet facilities like 4G/Wi-Fi. A MANET is any infrastructure-less network formed by independent and self-configuring nodes. Each node acts as router. In order to send data, the source node initiates a routing process by using a routing protocol. The nature of the wireless medium is always insecure. So, during routing many attacks can take place. The main objective of an eavesdropper is to grab the confidential information in the network. This secret information is used by a malicious node to perform further attacks. Here, the entire problem lies in identifying the eavesdropper because the eavesdropper acts a normal node in the network. In this paper, we analyzed the impact of eavesdropper while executing an Ad hoc On Demand routing (AODV) protocol in MANETs. All the simulations are done using QualNet 5.1 network simulator. From the results, it is found that the network performance degrades in presence of an eavesdropper.","PeriodicalId":443021,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Educator: Courses","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126868507","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the moving position of a vehicle on the bridge, the reaction on each column may be changed. This reaction is time variant for each column. The time-variant reaction is the major accountable factor in the generation of vibrations in a column. In spite of all the caution taken by the designers, bridges collapse without antecedence intimation. There are several reasons for the failure of such bridges. The probable reasons for bridge failure could be imperfect design, natural calamities or inappropriate use of material etc. Therefore, companies are seeking the perfect design considering the unanticipated load (due to natural calamities) as well as the vehicle load. In the design of such bridges, a designer examines many design parameters; one of them is induced vibrations in a column, which can also become a source of failure of a bridge. Hence, through this paper, an attempt is being made towards finding out a vibration response of columns of a bridge.","PeriodicalId":443021,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Educator: Courses","volume":"04 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129064306","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specimens were cryogenically-rolled to 70% thickness-reduction at −196 °C and artificially-aged at 200 °C, 250 °C, and 300 °C for times between 30 mins and 8 h. Analyses show that T1 (Al2CuLi) and δ′ (Al3Li) precipitates are dominant in AA 2099-T8 while AA 2624-T351 contains no precipitate. Upon cryo-rolling, hardness of AA 2099 decreased by ∼24%, while that of AA 2624 increased by ∼11%. The optimum ageing conditions for obtaining UFG structures in cryo-rolled AA 2099 and AA 2624 are 250 °C for 4 h and 250 °C for 1 h, respectively. It was found that dispersoids from the starting coarse-grained microstructure were inherited at every stage of TMP. New phase (S′) evolved in the interior of ultra-fine grains in AA 2624, while only T1 re-evolved in the UFG structure of AA 2099.","PeriodicalId":443021,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Educator: Courses","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115533656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The architecture comprises of a console along with a CPU that also acts as a buffer and stores information based on the processing of transactions, when a batch enters into the system. This console is connected to a switch (p-ports) which is again connected to the c-number of clusters through their respective hubs. The architecture can be used for personal databases and for online databases like cloud through router. This architecture uses the concept of load balancing by moving the transaction among various nodes within the clusters so that the overhead of a particular node can be minimised. In this paper we have simulated the working of BRKSS architecture using JDK 1.7 with Net beans 8.0.2. We compared the result of performance parameters sch as turnaround time, throughput and waiting time with existing hierarchical clustering model.","PeriodicalId":443021,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Educator: Courses","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115400670","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because the demand of electricity in urban areas or in industrial zones is large in amount & also more important than the rural areas, there exists a shortage of electric power supply facilities for rural households or remote location from the cities. In this case, Solar Energy is a promising solution to meet the demand for electricity services of rural areas in developing countries like Bangladesh. The effectiveness & stability of small PV systems for rural development is needed to be monitored for successful installment of Solar Panel. In order to analyze the system & modify it for cost reduction a data capturing unit should be constructed that can store the voltages & currents at three different terminals. A microcontroller operated Smart Data Logger can perform this work with high accuracy & precision maintaining the system cost much less than the conventional system. This paper deals with the design and implementation of a low cost data logger for solar home system. An experimental set up is designed and implemented and the paper illustrates the working principle, data observation and analysis, limitations, and future aspects of a low cost data logger for solar home system.","PeriodicalId":443021,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Educator: Courses","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116592929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
