The main purpose of this study was to determine differences in the numerical competence of students in terms of gender and various difficulties. The case study research was carried out on 91 students of Al Munawwariyyah Vocational School, Kab. Malang. The t test results showed that there were no differences in the numerical ability of boy and girl students. Some difficulties experienced by students in solving numerical problems include comparing two data from diagrams 54.9%, analyzing table data 61.6%, evaluating values on questions based on the table reference 63.8%, and comparing two graphs with the same function 39.6%. This research wants to determine and analyze the level of difficulty of junior high school students in solving non-routine problems, especially in social arithmetic material In terms of gender. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. This study aims to describe the analysis of student difficulties in arithmetic material on Social Arithmetic without any prior treatment. This research was conducted at one of the junior high schools in Soreang. The subjects of this study the sample in this study was taken randomly, were 8 junior high school students, 4 female students, and 4 male students. Based on the research result, the average score for male students and female students have almost the same ability ie 56 and 53. The research type used in this research and development is the ADDIE model. The stages in the ADDIE model are: analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews and questionnaires. The data collection instruments used were interview sheets, and validation questionnaires (media experts and material experts), practicality questionnaires (student responses). Data analysis used is to calculate the valid and practical scale of the resulting development product. Qualitative data analysis was obtained from the comments or suggestions given by media experts and material experts. Based on the validation results by 2 material experts, it was obtained a percentage of 83% was categorized as valid, and 2 media experts obtained a percentage of 76% in the valid category. The trial was conducted at Muhammadiyah High School 1 Way Jepara with a total of 6 students to see the practicality of the handout developed. The practicality results of the student response questionnaire obtained an average of 79.33% and categorized as practical. The type of research that is used is research and development (R&D). The model that is used is the R&D model developed by Sugiyono who has been modified. The stages which are used in this development research only stage 1 through 7. The instruments which are used were expert validation questionnaire and questionnaire response of students. Based on the results of expert validation obtained the results of the validation of material expert 78,84% (decent categories), linguists expert 85% (category of very feasible) and design expert 83,6% (a very feasible category), so that the overall percentage of the validator obtained a total percentage of 82,48% (very feasible category). The results of the small group trial were obtained from the response of students of the mathematics module was 84% (a very practical category). The population was all students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 19 Bandarlampung odd semester in the academic year 2019/2020 that were distributed into ten classes. The research samples were all students of grade VIII E and VIII F which were selected through a purposive sampling technique. The posttest only controls group design was used as the design of this research. The research data analysis using U-test at a significant level α = 0.05, students’ communication skills with the problem-based learning model are significantly higher than students’ communication skills with conventional learning. The population of this research was all students of grade 8th of SMP Negeri 36 Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2019/2020, consist of 172 students that were distributed into six classes. By using a purposive sampling technique, VIII E consists of 28 students, and VIII F consists of 28 students who were chosen as the research sample. This research used the pretest-posttest control group design. The data of this research was quantitative data obtained by the test of student’s understanding of mathematical concept ability. By using the t-test and proportion test, conclusions are obtained that the implementation of the metacognitive strategy was effective towards student’s understanding of mathematical concept ability. Keyword: effectiveness; metacognitive strategy; understanding mathematical concepts Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas penerapan strategi metakognitif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 36 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 yang terdiri dari 172 siswa dan terdistribusi dalam enam kelas. Melalui teknik purposive sampling, terpilihlah siswa kelas VIII E sebanyak 28 siswa dan VIII F sebanyak 28 siswa sebagai sampel penelitian. Desain yang digunakan adalah the pretest-posttest control group design. Data dalam penelitian ini merupakan data kuantitatif yang diperoleh dari tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Dengan menggunakan uji t dan uji proporsi, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penerapan strategi metakognitif efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Kata kunci: efektivitas; pemahaman konsep matematis; strategi metakognitif PENDAHULUAN Pencapaian tujuan pendidikan nasional membutuhkan suatu pembelajaran. Salah satu mata pelajaran yang diajarkan pada setiap jenjang pendidikan adalah matematika. Matematika berperan penting sebagai alat untuk membantu manusia dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan dalam berbagai bidang ilmu. Seperti yang tertuang dalam Depdiknas (2006: 345) yakni matematika adalah ilmu universal yang mendasari Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Lampung, Vol. 8, No. 3, 2020 139 perkembangan teknologi modern saat ini yang memiliki peran penting dalam berbagai disiplin ilmu serta untuk memajukan daya pikir manusia. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa mempelajari matematika merupakan hal penting dalam kehidupan. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. In each cycle, learning is carried out using worksheet based on discovery learning model. The indicator of achievement in each cycle is that the action is said to be successful if there are 85% of students who have the mathematical concept understanding of a good category. To obtain research data, instruments in the form of a preliminary test and comprehension test of mathematical concept understanding were used at the end of each cycle. The research subjects were students of SMP Negeri 4 Bandar Lampung, Lampung Province in the odd semester of the 2019/2020 school year, with the sample subjects being class 9A students, totaling 32 students.Based on the results of the analysis of t he learning outcomes data, it was concluded that: 1) in cycle 1, there were 68% of students who had good category in mathematical concept understanding, 2) in cycle 2, there were 87% of students who had good category in mathematical concept understanding understanding. The population of this research was all the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Natar Lampung Selatan in the odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year as many as 362 student’s that were distributed into eleven classes. The samples of this research were students of class VIII-A consist of 32 students and VIII-B consist of 32 students which were chosen by purposive sampling technique. This research used the pretest-posstest control group design. The research data were obtained through test of conceptual mathematical understanding. The data analysis of this research used Mann-Whitney U-test. Research show that the influence of conceptual mathematical understanding of student with resource based learning was higher than the influence of conceptual mathematical understanding of student with conventional learning. Based on the result and working through of result, the conclusion of this research is resource based learning no affects the student’s conceptual mathematical understanding enhancement.
