Cylinders were arranged in two configurations: the cylinder alone, or the cylinder with an armour plate behind it. During the tests, the projectile flight, a gas cylinder behaviour and the temperature released during the projectile impact to the P-B gas cylinder were measured using a high-speed camera (FASTCAM SA-Z 2100K 50.400 fps) and thermal cameras (FLIR X6580sc, FLIR X6901scSLS). Moreover, the aerodynamic characteristics were calculated with different methods and the results were compared. A system of twelve differential regular equations supplemented by principles of steering was used to describe bombs spatial motion for simulation purposes. The main objective of the paper was the analysis of an influence which bombs structural configuration effects on aerodynamic characteristics and the identification of aerodynamic properties which are specific for these structural configurations and which could be preferred at designing of guided bombs. The penetration of projectiles was shown on the examples of impact on a 30 mm thick target from rolled homogenous steel. Exemplary shapes of explosively formed projectiles on the flight path in the form of imprints in a paper target are presented. There were described four methods which are most often used now in the systems requiring information on the space orientation angles. First, some basic sensors used for identification of orientation angles were presented, including accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer. In the next chapter, the methodology of each algorithms was shown to illustrate differences between them. On this ground the evaluation can be made for selecting the best algorithm for determination of orientation angles for specific object. In the second part of the paper the results of carried out experiment with an measurement unit consisting of a triad of accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers were compared basing on the performed analysis.
