Kapitel des Johannesevangeliums enthalt die Berichte uber die Begegnungen der Junger mit dem Auferstandenen. Fur zwei Verse dieses Kapitels wird eine neue Ubersetzung vorgeschlagen. Eine strikt wortliche Ubersetzung von Joh 20,19 stellt eine - moglicherweise entscheidende - Akzentverschiebung im Ablauf der Handlung dar: Wahrend nach gangigen Ubersetzungen der Eindruck entsteht, dass sich die Junger erst am Abend des Tages, an dem Jesus auferstanden war, wieder versammelten, lasst eine wortliche Ubersetzung des Verses den Schluss zu, dass die Junger den ganzen Tag hinter verschlossenen Turen verbrachten. Die fur Joh 20,29 vorgeschlagene Ubersetzung - es geht um die Erscheinung des Auferstandenen vor Thomas - hat weitreichende theologische Implikationen. Falls das ὅτι, das normalerweise an dieser Stelle kausal ubertragen wird, einen Objektsatz einleiten sollte, so ist gerade nicht die Tatsache, dass die ersten Junger den Auferstandenen sehen konnten, eine Grundlage fur den Glauben derer, di...","PeriodicalId":43767,"journal":{"name":"GLOTTA-ZEITSCHRIFT FUR GRIECHISCHE UND LATEINISCHE SPRACHE","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2016-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73381426","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"历史学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

His point is that place-where is equally primitive in respect to both place-whence and place-whither because an analysis of place-whence and place-whither discloses place-where but not the other way round.","PeriodicalId":43767,"journal":{"name":"GLOTTA-ZEITSCHRIFT FUR GRIECHISCHE UND LATEINISCHE SPRACHE","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2016-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84726595","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"历史学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is evident from certain Roman brick stamps of the period, where the prepositions ex and de govern the accusative rather than the ablative. Our approach is based on the concept of normativity and its implications for historical linguistics. The findings, based on the analysis of 21 brick stamp texts from the second and third century AD, indicate that there is no direct causal relationship between phonetic, morphological or syntactic factors in the process of morphosyntactic change that eventually resulted in the collapse of the Latin case system. The conclusion is that in the third century AD there existed two norms in the language: ex/de…ABL was the only correct expression in higher registers, while ex/de…ACC was widespread and less incorrect in lower registers.","PeriodicalId":43767,"journal":{"name":"GLOTTA-ZEITSCHRIFT FUR GRIECHISCHE UND LATEINISCHE SPRACHE","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2016-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81414666","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"历史学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the first, a comma is usually inserted after μέν, and τὸν is not included in the ἐπὴν clause. In this case, the phrase should be translated “him, when he sees the sunlight, the deep-bosomed mountain nymphs will bring him up”. However, in the second version, the comma is absent and τὸν is included in the ἐπὴν clause. In this case, the phrase should be translated “when the sunlight sees him, the…nymphs will bring him up”. Most editors choose the first interpretation and the main reason is that the phrase “to see the sunlight (φάος ἠeλίοιο)” in the first version is very common while the phrase “the sunlight sees”, as in the second version, is very rare. However there are the two most significant objections to the first interpretation. First, verse-initial relative pronouns followed by a subordinating conjunction are elsewhere construed...","PeriodicalId":43767,"journal":{"name":"GLOTTA-ZEITSCHRIFT FUR GRIECHISCHE UND LATEINISCHE SPRACHE","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2016-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73529343","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"历史学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Initially, Artimas was considered to be an Iranian loanword (from the OIran. PN *Rtima-). However, at the same time, some scholars defended the position that Artimas was presumably constructed on the basis of the Greek-epichoric GN Ἄρτeμις/Ertemi. Moreover, Artimas and Arteimas have been analysed together by some scholars as being two variations of the same PN. The discussion remains open. The purpose of this article is to throw some light on the problem by assuming that Artimas and Arteimas would not be variants of the same PN, but on the contrary, would have had different etymologies, with one being Iranian, and the other, epichoric. This explanation will be made in the light of the correspondence between the Aram. PN ˀrtym ‘Artimas’ and the Aram. GN ˀrtmws ‘Artemis’, as well as between the Lyd. PN Artimas ‘Artimas’ and the GN Artimuś ‘Artemis’, and t...","PeriodicalId":43767,"journal":{"name":"GLOTTA-ZEITSCHRIFT FUR GRIECHISCHE UND LATEINISCHE SPRACHE","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2016-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91255811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"历史学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
