CMUTs have the advantage of being fully compatible when integrated with the on chip electronics resulting in the production of acutely low cost and high performance devices with both 1D and 2D arrays. The CMUTs can be fabricated with various geometries like circular, square, rectangular and hexagon. The geometry plays a significant role in the development of the ultrasonic transducers. The importance of CMUT is being discussed in this paper including the pull in voltage, C-V characteristics, resonantfrequency and the deflection profiles of the designed CMUT. Time dependent analysis, stationary analysis and the Eigen frequency have been done in COMSOL. Finite element modelling is realized with 3D model of CMUT. CMUTs finds application in medical imaging, nondestructive testing, distance measuring etc.","PeriodicalId":436902,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Emerging Trends in Computing and Communication Technologies (ICETCCT)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127066941","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed structure is having the size of 18μm×18μm in which Si rods are placed in air. Line and point defects are created to achieve the functionality of logical AND gate. A 32-bit simulation is carried out using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) and plane wave expansion (PWE) methods to simulate the proposed structure. A forbidden gap of 0.31276 in the range of 0.735940 ≤ (1/λ) ≤ 1.048702 has been obtained for Transverse Electric (TE) mode at 1550 nm wavelength. A reasonable contrast ratio (CR) of 7.62dB is obtained for the designed structure of AND gate.","PeriodicalId":436902,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Emerging Trends in Computing and Communication Technologies (ICETCCT)","volume":"157 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115443702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adaptive control is a solution to such class of problems but it is a challenging task to implement it. In this paper, an attempt has been made to design and implement two adaptive controls for a rotary inverted pendulum. A self-tuning regulator with linear quadratic regulator is the first choice of the control strategy which makes it an optimal adaptive control and the other adaptive technique is the model reference adaptive control using state feedback using pole placement technique.","PeriodicalId":436902,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Emerging Trends in Computing and Communication Technologies (ICETCCT)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125757252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The act of acquiring knowledge is learning and with the advent of technology, learning has become easier. E-Learning is a popular learning method which uses the web or other technologies to promote learning. A very traditional learning method is discussed and some new methods with the integration of modern technology have been discussed. Although technologies like artificial intelligence, cloud computing, ontology, fuzzy logic etc. have been used in learning systems they are still less automated, not personalized and do not pose the capability to self-learn. A method is proposed to increase the automation and self-learning in the e-learning management systems. Further, the personalization of learning for the user so that every type of learner can learn from the type and level of the content the learner seems fit is the main aim. The proposed system is feasible, economical and scalable which makes it suitable for every level.","PeriodicalId":436902,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Emerging Trends in Computing and Communication Technologies (ICETCCT)","volume":"2017 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130832139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since the fractional Fourier transform (FRFT) is robust to illumination variations, a novel method is proposed for the face recognition using the phase of the FRFT. The problem of phase wrapping is dealt by the use of the sine and cosine functions for the phase spectrum instead of the phase directly. Experimental results on Yale-B database shows that the proposed method is effective than the existing methods.","PeriodicalId":436902,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Emerging Trends in Computing and Communication Technologies (ICETCCT)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115044973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
