Global Entrepreneurship Monitor reports and several researches show that the higher the economic development of a country, the lower the entrepreneurship rate and the population opportunities perception. Thus, this theoretical essay aims to investigate assumptions about how the relationship between macroeconomic indicators and population entrepreneurship variables may contribute to the risk propensity of a country. We carried out a bibliographic research about this topic in the Emerald Insight, Capes and ESBCOhost databases. We observed that there are no studies that relate all our seven proposed variables (GDP, HDI, unemployment rate, Total Early‐Stage Entrepreneurial Activity ‐ TEA, perception of opportunities, fear of failure and risk propensity), especially considering in multinational scale. Initially, a literature search on the maturity models in processes took place and then from an extensive literature search on maturity models in supply chains, was chosen the maturity model of <span>McCormack et al. (2003)</span>. Later, from the code of conduct of <span>UTZ Certified (2015a)</span>, the attributes to be valued in this maturity model were selected. Finally, there was the validation of this model for the analysis of experts in process and coffee. The contribution of this paper for agribusiness is centered created maturity model and method of the proposed maturity cycle, identifying the critical points of each firm individually, enabling suggest recommendations for improving processes, allowing the prioritization of efforts and resources by the firm. Moreover, there is the possibility to check common points of improvement in strategic groups to guide collective efforts for better performance results in operations, facilitating collective action and sector policies. The core objective of the paper was to describe the level of CI concepts and tools utilization according to the perception of CI managers within important firms. The data gathering was performed with the use of in‐depth interviews with executive managers that lead these areas in 8 very representative firms in this industry with activities in different areas in the value chain. The data was analyzed and classified using the categories as suggested by the Wright‐Pickton framework. As results, it could be seen that the data gathering and the use of outputs from CI are the ones much far from the ideal level, meaning these activities need to be improved in order to make the CI practice closer to the firms’ strategy. A descriptive study, with a quantitative approach, was developed in hotels located in the two principal tourism destinations of four states in the Northeast Region of Brazil: Salvador, BA, Porto Seguro, BA, Fortaleza, CE, Canoa Quebrada, CE, Recife, PE, Porto de Galinhas, PE, Natal, RN and Pipa, RN. The instrument for data collection investigates the organizational capabilities based on the Ulrich's (1998, 2000) Multiple Roles Model. The results indicate a tendency, among the hotels, to be more able to develop organizational capabilities orientated toward the day‐to‐day and for the operational level and to encounter greater difficulties in developing organizational capabilities directed toward the future and for the strategic level. This tendency confirms the strategic gap still experienced by human resource management in contemporary organizations. Technological dimensions are critical to the construction and development of governance mechanisms ‐ structuring norms and rules, monitoring forms and application of incentives and sanctions. Among the fundamental elements, the institutional elements, the factors of trust, legitimacy and leadership are included, and they can promote or inhibit governance in VBC. The interaction of these elements with the technological dimensions has effects on the development of appropriate governance mechanisms of a VBC and has been little explored in the literature. A case study involving the creation of a VBC for the flower sector in Rio Grande do Sul, based on the conceptual elements analyzed, allowed us to propose a framework for VBC governance studies. From the beginning of the 2000‘s this need has turned even more important, especially with the advent and widespread of innovations, intensifying competition and shortening the life cycle of products. It is perceived, however, that companies operating in more traditional sectors of the economy have higher barriers to innovative procedures, barriers increased and enhanced when it comes to the universe of micro and small enterprises (MSEs). These difficulties, by itself, support the need for policies and public interventions in order to minimize the barriers. In this context, this paper addresses a research which studied two innovation supporting programs in Brazil: the business incubation, with particular focus in the Business Incubator of the city of Araraquara; and the Brazilian Service for Technical Answers (SBRT) in this particular case represented by one of his agents, the Integrated Service of Technical Answers (SIRT) of the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP/Araraquara). This study reports the virtues, the limitations and difficulties of these two instruments of public policy as potential or actual inducers to innovations in non‐technological micro and small enterprises (MSEs). The research analyzed the types, sources and mechanisms used to promote innovations in the MSEs. The methodology comprised a qualitative research, exploratory, designed as a simple case study, with data collected through interviews and participant observation. It was found that the MSEs, even those who participate in public programs and policies, have many difficulties to operationalize innovation. The use of business simulation games as a teaching strategy and learning environment, promotes the active participation of students in teaching and learning process and thus there is a challenge to identify how they learn and answer what are stimulated. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between learning styles and perceptions of students in the application of business simulation games as a teaching strategy and learning environment. Students’ perceptions on teaching strategy and learning environment were collected through the instrument of the skills acquisition and the quality of the virtual environment. The analysis was performed using descriptive statistics techniques, factor analysis and analysis of variance (ANOVA). The main results, learning styles differ significantly as a teaching strategy in the processing and input dimensions. In the processing dimension, significant differences were presented in the factor related to problem solving, while the input dimension were the factor on managerial behavior. In order to serve the needs of guests, hotels depend on professionals that have much, few, or almost no contact with the guests. For these professionals, things such as good appearance, good diction, perfect hair and nails are required in order to meet the hotel market standards. Based on this, this work sought to figure out how these organizations react to the insertion of disabled professional in the working place, through the analysis of the Human Resource practices of three hotels Belém, Pará, northern Brazil. This research follows a qualitative approach. Data collection was made through interviews and non-participant observations. Data analysis was made through Content Analysis. The results identified the Human Resource practices set on the insertion of people with disabilities, compared them, and found that only one hotel works with all HR practices studied. In all studied hotels, it was noticed that during the selection the main focus was on the type and severity of the disability, excluding the most severe ones. The absolute criteria is the search for a lighter disability and not the search for the specific skills needed to fulfill a position. Therefore, it was proposed to analyze the commercial film/artistic ‘New in Town’ (2009), directed by Jonas Elmer. The criteria for choosing for the use of this film were determined by theoretical propositions, involving the constructs dynamic capabilities and competitive advantage in changing environments. The recognition of the importance of these aspects has made, both developed and developing countries start to implement policies that strengthen the links between the scientific and technological production. Such policies are also reflected in regional sections, giving rise to the Regional Innovation System (RIS). This article aims to analyze the influence of the elements of national and regional innovation systems in university‐industry (U‐I) interactions in Santa Catarina, taking as an object of study four universities analyzed in the following categories: science, technology and innovation (S,T&I) structure and higher education system. For data collection, it was possible to perform 38 interviews in depth. The data was performing and analyzing using the qualitative data analysis software Atlas/ti, version 7.1.3. The results showed an increasingly consolidated performance, especially in terms of volume of investment from the federal and state governments in S,T&I policies reinforced by the regulatory framework in the field of innovation.
