The novel deconstructs the appeased consciousness of a state of affairs led to its repetition in this Brazilwhere we are living in, a country at once oligarchic and very poor. From the literary perspective, this essay approaches the narrative construction of the novel and the philosophical and historical problems underlying it, dialoguing with some national and international references on the subject of ethical memory and testimony. It focuses on the fragmentary trait of the novel to deal with the horror experienced in the recent past in Brazil and Latin America, from a critical consciousness about the theme, pointing to the aesthetic need to deal with the trauma caused in Brazilian society during this period","PeriodicalId":43374,"journal":{"name":"SCRIPTORIUM","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88720810","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"文学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The novel tells the story of Kapapa, who became Kene Vua during the guerrilla war and is again Kapapa. The character narrator recounts his memories of traumas and war from his childhood to adulthood, through the course of the waters of the Angolan rivers, which become secondary charactersof history. In addition, the individual memories of the character intertwine with the collective memories of his country. The storyteller’s way of telling, through the water metaphor and the recreated language, fits the narrative of the novel into the aesthetic of the stranger proposed by Sigmund Freud, in his work The Stranger, when referring to a new way of thinking aesthetics. The waters participate in the narration of the novel. The character narrator blends languages and uses neologisms to tellabout the unspeakable experience of war and violence. The research proposes to analyze the elements within the scope of the stranger present in the book The bookof rivers, studying the narrative and the form of account of the narrator.","PeriodicalId":43374,"journal":{"name":"SCRIPTORIUM","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84278936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"文学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This set of image-signs reappears with relative stability all along Duras’s work, and this allows the writer to refer to some of her works whose dates of publication are quite distant in time, but with some shared elements to which she gives a formulation. In this context, the mythical invention of female writing is closely related to notions such as music and madness, which are shown as imaginary paradigms of a poetics of porosity. A close reading of Duras & Porte’s book will allow to reveal the conceptual network that interweaves these formulations and to illuminate some central aspects of Duras’s poetics.","PeriodicalId":43374,"journal":{"name":"SCRIPTORIUM","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77008260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"文学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the artist’s view, less than the impossibility of making songs, what would be at stake would be the decline of a certain form of Brazilian sociability that would be within the formation of the Brazilian song system. It is the intention of this work to think about the management that Chico Buarque seeks to mobilize from the Brazilia song system, as well as the outputs that it seeks to elaborate in the literature. In this sense, what is under discussion are the specificities that the Brazilian song tradition would offer to deal with the Brazilian historical matter when compared with thepossibilities offered by the local literary system. To this end, we will try to analyze such systems (and their respective possibilities) by crossing part of the critical fortune interested in debating their respective historical specificities, as well as the perspective that Chico Buarque raised in the 2004 interview and at other times.","PeriodicalId":43374,"journal":{"name":"SCRIPTORIUM","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89236180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"文学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On January 23 in the year of 2006, when a group formed by four young men, who were 19 years old, released an album called Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, the CD surprisingly became the fastest selling debut album in the British music history. The choice of this album as study corpus is based not only on account of the commercial success mentioned above, but also on the compositions’ precise and literary portraying of current aspects of the British youth in the first decade of the millenium. By analysing the excerpts, which portray the routine of a generation, the work aims to contribute to a more informed understanding of the social habits that made this atmosphere possible.","PeriodicalId":43374,"journal":{"name":"SCRIPTORIUM","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88882126","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"文学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
