A contact lens placed on the fish-eye to wear glasses for simulation of human's eye. Through an omnidirectional image captured 3600 panoramic view of the contact lens. In this paper, we introduced the omnidirectional image, panorama image, perspective image, and calibration of omnidirectional image method. Two experiments are successfully showed as: (1) calibration parameters of a fisheye image. (2) omnidirectional image reconstruction experiment, 3600 panoramic image, and feature edge image. Finally, fisheye lens experimental results are proved that the establishment fish-eye lens for contact lens inspection system is feasible.","PeriodicalId":432388,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123339577","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several studies have demonstrated that portions of radio spectrum are not in use for significant periods of time, showing the necessity to design a more flexible way to manage the spectrum resource with respect to the traditional frequency allocation policy. Cognitive radios systems have been conceived to enable such flexible spectrum allocation, making more intensive and efficient spectrum use. This capability is usually called frequency agility. In literature, several spectrum sensing methods have been proposed, which promise good performance even when applied to detect very weak signals. Nevertheless, even though they meet the spectrum sensing capability requirements, they do not seem to satisfy the frequency agility capability requisites. In this framework, the paper proposes a novel measurement algorithm able to meet those requirements. Major strength of the proposal is the ability to correctly operate even in scenarios characterized by very low signal-to-noise ratios. The assessment campaign has shown the efficacy and usefulness of the proposed algorithm.","PeriodicalId":432388,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123029693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, the RLS (Recursive Least Square) algorithm for adaptive signal processing is explored based on QR decomposition, which is accomplished by using the Givens Rotation algorithm. The Givens Rotation algorithm is implemented using a systolic array and LUT-based Newton's method. This architecture is suitable for high-speed FPGAs or ASIC designs. It also solves the tradeoff between throughput and latency issues. As a case study, this QR design is tested using Xilinx XC5VLX110T FPGA. The findings show that the system is capable of running the QR decomposition at up to 200MHz with 56 clock cycles latency.","PeriodicalId":432388,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114251901","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The module consists of a rectangular microstrip patch antenna, a microstrip inset feed, electronic components such as a rectifier circuit and a protective housing. The housing is used to protect the antenna, the feed and the electronic components from the physical, chemical and electromagnetic influence of the surrounding material. First, a conventional transmitting mode approach is used to analyze and optimize the antenna to operate at ~2.5 GHz when embedded in concrete. Then, a receiving mode approach is used to investigate the performance of the embedded antenna module for two different external sources of excitation; namely, a plane wave and a second antenna in free space. It has been shown that by choosing the appropriate dimensions and dielectric property of the housing, the influence of the concrete on the resonant frequency and the magnitude of the reflection coefficient has been reduced. The feasibility of the embedded antenna module along with a rectifier circuit for a wireless microwave power transmission inside concrete has been demonstrated. The simulation and measurement results obtained with early-age concrete mimicking substance using two-antenna setup are in good agreement. The antenna module can be used for wireless power transmission through building materials such as concrete and for material characterization.","PeriodicalId":432388,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121107428","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conventional approaches for blind speech separation are almost based on the Nyquist sampling theory. We proposed an approach which uses the multichannel compressive sensing theory for blind speech separation. The linear programming and gradient-based methods are used to separate the sources. Compared with the conventional blind speech separation, the proposed approach can reduce the requirements of sampling speed and operating rate of the devices. Moreover, our approach has lower computational complexity. The main contribution of this paper lies in proposing a novel procedure to estimate the sources from the measurements without reconstructing the mixed signals. Simulation results demonstrate the proposed algorithm can separate multichannel speech sources successfully.","PeriodicalId":432388,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125144790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
