{"title":"[Guided image for quality of life of women with cervical cancer: quasi-experimental studyImagen guiada para la calidad de vida de mujeres con cáncer de cuello uterino: estudio cuasi-experimental].","authors":"Edenice de Oliveira Santana, Larissa Marcondes, Luana Aparecida Alves da Silva, Namie Okino Sawada, Luciana Martins da Rosa, Luciana Puchalski Kalinke","doi":"10.15649/cuidarte.2358","DOIUrl":"10.15649/cuidarte.2358","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Introduction: </strong>Mind-body therapies, such as guided imagery relaxation, which are among the main integrative practices used by cancer patients, are essential for maintaining a healthy balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic arousal in the brain.</p><p><strong>Objective: </strong>To evaluate the effect of guided image relaxation, with the use of virtual reality, on the health-related quality of life of women with cervical cancer undergoing concomitant treatment with chemoradiotherapy.</p><p><strong>Materials and method: </strong>A quasi-experimental study, carried out in an oncology referral hospital in southern Brazil, from October 2019 to January 2021. 52 women participated, divided into two groups, experimental (relaxation intervention guided by imagery with virtual reality), and control (default routine). The Functional instrument was used to assess health-related quality of life scores. Assessment of Cancer therapy cervix cancer, applied before, 14 days after and at the end of treatment, in approximately 35 days. Emphasis was placed on the incorporation of gamification elements, such as luck, strategy, competition, and cooperation. The validation process was successful in all evaluated categories, the game was considered relevant and suitable for health education activities.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>The developed game is validated and available to the scientific and professional community, and its effects should be measured in the next stages of the research. The subjects of the study were nurse coordinators. Semi-structured interviews were conducted. Atlas.ti was used for data analysis. Results: The participants partially applied continuity of care due to a lack of clarity of the concept, disconnection between primary health care and specialized care, and administrative limitations. The continuity of care is practiced in a disorganized and empirical manner.</p><p><strong>Discussion: </strong>There is a clear need for implementing communication strategies between the different levels of care to strengthen teamwork and promote patient self-care. According to the participants, the information is not shared among the different levels of care, hindering the continuity of patient care.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>The application of the continuity of care process is fragmented and disorganized. The UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) Loneliness Scale, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, and the ROL scale were completed by the participants using Google Forms®. Objective: To assess the seroprevalence of <i>Toxoplasma gondii</i> IgG and IgM antibodies and associated risk factors in first- trimester pregnant women in Cúcuta, Colombia, in 2018.</p><p><strong>Materials and methods: </strong>Cross-sectional and correlational study in 111 women who voluntarily participated. Specific IgM and IgG antibodies were detected by luminescence immunoassay (LIA).</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Total seropositivity for IgM and IgG was 19.8% and 35.1%, respectively, 11.7% was for IgM only, and 53.2% corresponded to the overall seronegativity rate for <i>T. gondii</i>. Risk factors (CI = 95%) such as undercooked meat consumption (54.1% of cases, OR = 1.8, p = 0.120), tap water consumption (48.6%, OR = 1.4, p = 0.421), and goat or cow raw milk consumption (39.6%, OR = 0.78, p = 0.553) were identified; in addition, living with cats (23.4%) was identified as a risk factor significantly associated with parasite seropositivity (OR = 2.8, p = 0.025).</p><p><strong>Discussion and conclusions: </strong>Our findings showed a possible risk of primary infection in more than half of the pregnant population, given the seronegativity against the parasite. A considerable frequency of suspected cases of very recent infection was also found. Therefore, the present work aimed to identify the effects of high-intensity intermittent training on the lipid profile in overweight and obese university students.</p><p><strong>Materials and methods: </strong>quasi-experimental study, consisting of a sample of 30 students, who were randomly assigned into two groups of 15 students, thus leaving a control group (continuous training): 15 and an experimental group (intermittent exercise of high intensity: 15. Moreover, there were carried out Laboratory tests before and after training to find the lipid profile. Also, the realization of 20 training sessions, which were distributed three times a week, with an average duration of 50 minutes. Additionally, the performed of statistical tests with a level of statistical significance of p <0.05.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>there is a statistically significant relationship in the HDL value of the control and experimental group. The Glucose values show statistically significant relationships in the experimental group (p = 0.001).</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>Intermittent high-intensity training and continuous moderate-intensity work generate a decrease in LDL and Triglycerides variables and an increase in HDL. However, they are not statistically significant after 20 training sessions. The search was conducted in English and Spanish, in PubMed, SciELO, the Virtual Health Library, and the Coronavirus research database. The articles were filtered by title, abstract, and full text. The results were summarized according to the charting technique.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Fifty-one publications were included. A total of five categories emerged: 1) Palliative care characteristics, 2) advanced care planning, 3) support for family members and loved ones, 4) telehealth, and 5) nursing role in palliative care.</p><p><strong>Discussion: </strong>The social cost of the pandemic is reflected in the increased burden of palliative care units, higher mortality rates, and the decreased average age of death. Future studies should address the psychosocial impact of COVID-19 on patients' loved ones, as well as the impact at the community level.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>Palliative and end-of-life care is an essential tool for COVID-19 patients care. The search strategy was \"<i>nursing and workload and intensive critical or ICU and measure.</i>\" Duplicate articles or articles about intermediate care units were excluded. The quality of the articles was assessed using the Strobe checklist.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Thirty-six articles with a total of 19,036 patients were included; 50% (n=18) used NAS, 27.7% (n=10) used a combination of methods such as NAS, NEMS, TISS-28 or VACTE; 13.8% (n=5) used TISS-28, 5.6% (n=2) used video camera record ing, and 2.7% (n=1) used NEMS to quantify the time spent by nurses in care.</p><p><strong>Discussion: </strong>There is currently no consensus on workload measurement methods in nursing. In this sense, more validation and comparison studies are needed to improve nursing care management in the ICUs.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>The most used tool to quantify workload in nursing is the Nursing Activities Score (NAS).
