The PRACTS program intervenes in this situation aiming to respond to the need of building social support networks and promote social participation for this population. Thus, a WhatsApp group was created to establish contact with people and inform them about the planned activities. From this experience, a hypothesis was formulated: this device favors the emergence of a dynamic that goes beyond the simple sharing of information. The aim is to understand whether and how this platform constitutes a new territory and can be used as an intervention tool in social occupational therapy. To this end, a sample of conversations and photos extracted from this WhatsApp group was analyzed. The analysis shows six types of messages, in addition to information, which suggest that the group has become a territory shared by professionals and users and can be used as an intervention tool to strengthen the feeling of belonging to a group and promote social participation, both in virtual and real spaces. Some limitations to this device are observed, as well as the interest in constant reflection to ensure the necessary practical and ethical adaptations of the professionals to the new realities and needs of their users.","PeriodicalId":43119,"journal":{"name":"Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional-Brazilian Journal of Occupational Therapy","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67340145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

O programa PRACTS intervém junto a essa população a fim de construir redes sociais de suporte e buscar meios para sua participação social. Assim, para manter contato com as pessoas, bem como para informá-las sobre as atividades planejadas, criou-se um grupo no aplicativo de mensagem instantânea WhatsApp. A partir dessa experiência, formulou-se a hipótese de que esse dispositivo favorece a emergência de uma dinâmica que vai além do simples compartilhamento de informação. Busca-se compreender se e como esse aplicativo constitui um novo território e se pode ser usado como ferramenta de intervenção em terapia ocupacional social. Para tanto, analisou-se uma amostra de conversas e fotos extraídas desse grupo. A análise mostra seis tipos de mensagens, com informações que sugerem que o grupo se tornou um território compartilhado por profissionais e usuários e que pode ser usado como ferramenta de intervenção para fortalecer o sentimento de pertencimento a um coletivo e favorecer a participação social, tanto no espaço virtual como no espaço real. Apontam-se alguns limites desse dispositivo e o interesse em uma reflexão constante a fim de garantir as necessárias adaptações práticas e éticas das profissionais às novas realidades e necessidades dos usuários.","PeriodicalId":43119,"journal":{"name":"Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional-Brazilian Journal of Occupational Therapy","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67340280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, the discussion about the work in this sector and the social question has gained relevance in the profession from an interventional and theoretical-academic point of view. In this study, from a Marxist perspective, we reflect on how the social question determines the demands observed in social assistance work. Next, we present the concepts of societal projects - understood as collective projects that express class intentions for society, and of professional projects - defined as collective projects related to professions composed of ethical and political principles, which are theoretical and methodological references for professional practice, and that establish bases for their relationships with service users, other professions, and organizations and institutions. We conclude by proposing that social occupational therapy is a theoretical and methodological framework that can be adopted to construct a critical-transformative professional project: critical of the structure and dynamics of capitalist society that continually replace the expressions of the social question, touching the everyday life of subjects; critical of the neoliberal model of State management that weakens rights and makes people’s lives precarious; critical of the conservative trends of work in social assistance that individualize, medicalize, psychologize, and moralize the reading of problems presented as professional demands; critical of the role and social function of occupational therapy in its relationship with society, breaking with a technical and supposedly neutral view of the profession.","PeriodicalId":43119,"journal":{"name":"Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional-Brazilian Journal of Occupational Therapy","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67340446","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The report is organized into three parts: in the first part, the extension project is presented and contextualized; the second part discusses social occupational therapy, its history, and the approach to debates on gender and sexualities; the third part presents the trajectory of the actions developed and the partnerships carried out over the six years of the project’s existence, listing and reflecting on the main challenges and the potential of the work developed. The project has been dedicated to actions and reflections that are based on the analysis of social markers of difference—especially, genders and sexualities—and intersectionality. It is also anchored in the theoretical-methodological framework of social occupational therapy and public policies aimed at the LGBTQIAP+ population. Over six years of project execution, through different actions, it was possible to promote access to democratic knowledge questioning the essentialization of differences and inequalities, seek ways of living together based on respect and solidarity, produce strategies that respond to the individual and collective needs of subjects, aiming to build and expand social rights and producing reflections and democratic actions.","PeriodicalId":43119,"journal":{"name":"Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional-Brazilian Journal of Occupational Therapy","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67341707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sua história de atendimento em meio aberto de adolescentes e jovens em conflito com a lei e suas famílias precede as premissas e diretrizes do Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA), do Sistema Único de Assistência Social e do Sistema Nacional de Atendimento Socioeducativo. O COMEC se tornou uma referência no município de Campinas, SP, Brasil na execução das medidas socioeducativas de Liberdade Assistida (LA) e de Prestação de Serviços à Comunidade (PSC), por meio do desenvolvimento de um trabalho sólido no campo da assistência social. Este estudo tem a finalidade de apresentar a trajetória da atuação da terapia ocupacional no COMEC de 1984 a 2022, por meio de uma parceria de ensino-extensão universitária realizada pelo Curso de Graduação em Terapia Ocupacional da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas, SP. Desde então, terapeutas ocupacionais têm composto as equipes técnicas de LA e PSC como profissionais de referência essenciais para o desenvolvimento desse trabalho, bem como assumido atividades de gestão. Na América Latina, há poucos trabalhos que se dedicam à construção do entendimento dos profissionais ou suas percepções acerca do lazer. São ainda mais escassos os estudos que correlacionam com a ciência ocupacional o entendimento destes profissionais sobre tal ocupação dentro do campo da saúde mental. Objetivo Conhecer o entendimento de lazer por terapeutas ocupacionais atuantes na saúde mental de serviços públicos substitutivos ao modelo psiquiátrico asilar. Metodologia Esta pesquisa foi qualitativa, descritiva e exploratória, com desenho transversal. Foi utilizado grupo focal e análise temática da informação advinda do processo de construção coletiva de terapeutas ocupacionais, atuantes em serviços públicos de base territorial de urgência em saúde mental, da cidade de Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brasil, sobre seus entendimentos quanto ao lazer. Resultados Três categorias emergiram: (a) Lazer - prazer; (b) Lazer - livre escolha; e (c) Lazer - transcendência da dureza. Conclusão O lazer é uma ocupação importante para terapeutas ocupacionais atuantes em saúde mental no território; pode encontrar ressonância em práticas que fomentam a contratualidade e autonomia, especialmente ao se aliar aos princípios da ciência ocupacional de valorização do fazer humano em suas variáveis formas de vivenciá-lo. Acredita-se que esta pesquisa possa auxiliar terapeutas ocupacionais e cientistas da ocupação no entendimento do lazer contemporâneo, em diálogo com o cuidado no território e posicionamento antimanicomial.","PeriodicalId":43119,"journal":{"name":"Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional-Brazilian Journal of Occupational Therapy","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135214732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The life participation of parents with a child with special needs are related to the child, the therapy and child-parents adaptation. Therefore, during the caregiving/ occupational therapy process, there is a need for valid and reliable scales to evaluate the life of parents’ participation. Objective The aim of this study was to adapt the Life Participation of Parents scale (LPP) into Turkish and to examine its psychometric properties. Methods LPP was culturally adapted via suggested by Beaton et al. One hundred-eighty-six parents of children with disabilities (Age range: 18-55 y/o,154 female) completed the LPP. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (EFA, CFA) was conducted to investigate the factor structure of Turkish version of LPP (LPP-T). Reliability was tested by internal consistency and test–retest reliability. Internal consistency of the instrument was given as Cronbach’s alpha. Test–retest reliability was assessed by intraclass correlation coefficient. Results According to the EFA, it was determined that 11 items were collected in a single factor and factor load explained 40,816% of the total variance. According to the CFA, it was seen that the single-dimension scale structure consisting of 11 questions generally fit acceptable in this scale. The LPP-T demonstrated good internal consistency, with Cronbach's alpha of 0.849 for the total scale. The test‐retest reliability was good (with ICC of 0.875). Conclusion The LPP-T had good internal consistency and test-retest reliability for parents of children with disabilities. This scale was adapted into Turkish to guide Turkish occupational therapists working in the field of pediatrics in planning interventions to support the life participation of parents.","PeriodicalId":43119,"journal":{"name":"Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional-Brazilian Journal of Occupational Therapy","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135106722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this research was to present the validation process of training workshops aimed at workers in early childhood education, through the consensus of specialists. Seven participatively elaborated workshops gave rise to the training framework and such information was presented in detail to the specialists in two rounds, according to the Delphi technique. Twenty-nine doctoral experts in early childhood education were invited, six of whom agreed to participate, with degrees in philosophy and literature, pedagogy and occupational therapy. A descriptive analysis of the responses was performed, based on the average of the results found. The workshops reached 95%-100% agreement. Some thematic enrichments were suggested, such as: school and preschool routine; neoliberalism and early childhood education; childhoods and their multiple determinations; the spontaneity of playing in early childhood education; children's culture and curriculum. The specialists also suggested dynamics and bibliographies for the workshops. Consensus denotes multidisciplinary theoretical-methodological consistency, which increases the complexity of the approach and the chances of generalization beyond the local interests of the institution that hosted this experience. The chart contains key themes, focused on current issues in early childhood education, which makes it possible for occupational therapists to use it in other contexts.","PeriodicalId":43119,"journal":{"name":"Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional-Brazilian Journal of Occupational Therapy","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67338487","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, health measures were applied due to the COVID-19 pandemic that limited daily activities, especially in people over 75 years of age. Objective To describe and analyze the repercussions of the measures adopted in Chile due to the COVID-19 pandemic on the daily activities of people over 75 years old in relation to autonomy and social participation and analyze them from the framework of Occupational Justice. Method Qualitative and descriptive research with a narrative research design. Semi-structured interviews were conducted through video calls to nine people over 75 years of age, residents of different communities in Chile who have been in quarantine during the year 2020. Results The measures forced older people to modify their routines, affecting the range of occupations they previously carried out, causing social isolation, feelings of loneliness and a decrease in autonomy, mainly due to dependence on carrying out procedures through technological devices. Most of the interviewees consider that the specific measures for them were exaggerated, poorly contextualized and did not consider the heterogeneity of this age group. Conclusion The measures adopted for people over 75 years of age have deepened stereotypes typical of ageism that were previously present. This has implied an occupational deprivation that, however, has led the participants to seek adaptation strategies that realize their potential.","PeriodicalId":43119,"journal":{"name":"Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional-Brazilian Journal of Occupational Therapy","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67338736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
