Objective To describe the perceptions of occupational therapists and students, regarding the process of acquisition and participation in the academic role within the metropolitan region of Chile. Method Research qualitative with an exploratory-descriptive design in which occupational therapy academics and students were interviewed online, and selected in a non-probabilistic manner. 13 people participated, whose responses were analyzed in selective coding tables and categorized into 8 subcategories. Results The motivation to transmit the values of the profession and the experiences when teaching are the main factors that professionals consider maintaining their teaching role in universities. In addition, the existence of an occupational imbalance in the areas of social participation, rest, and sleep was evidenced within the routine habits of professionals. Also, there is the precariousness of work and remuneration when maintaining the teaching role. These parties are held weekly and inform three main actors: partygoers, bregueiros, and DJs. Even though they are widely validated in the periphery, the Brega parties face processes of social marginalization of their practices, with derogatory notions attributed to the ways of living and everyday actions of the subjects involved with this movement. Among the Brega parties, this study highlights the Baile da Saudade, which concentrates on characteristics more linked to the initial Brega movement. Objective To identify the meanings of producing/participating in the Baile da Saudade parties based on the perspective of its main actors. Method This qualitative study, which was inspired by an ethnographic approach, heard five participants: one DJ, two party planners, and two bregueiros. The data was generated through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and the Photovoice. The resources were analyzed by Thematic Analysis. Results Four thematic units were generated: particularities of the Baile da Saudade, construction of the party as a cultural product, differences in consumption between the Center and the Periphery of city, as well as stigmas and acceptance associated with this party. Within the scope of the public policy of social assistance, its insertion started to be officially foreseen from 2011, however its action has been developed in the beginning of occupational therapists’ action in Brazil. Objective To present the profile of occupational therapists inserted in the services and/or programs of the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS) in Minas Gerais (MG) state, Brazil. Method Documentary research was carried out, using the SUAS Census as a source of information. Quantitative data from municipalities with occupational therapists per year, by equipment, services, and role between the years 2012 to 2019 were mapped. The data were treated using simple statistics, and the results were organized into analytical categories, which were part of the discussion of the results. Results Data from occupational therapists were found in SUAS equipment for Basic Social Protection, Special Social Protection, and at the management level. A relevant number of occupational therapists in services for people with disabilities stood out. Conclusion The constitution of social occupational therapy, the recognition of the profession's specialization in social contexts, and the provision of this professional in the SUAS has expanded the debate and the possibilities of action with a focus on social protection. Se reconoce la importancia de las prácticas territoriales y del campo de la terapia ocupacional social para el fortalecimiento y acompañamiento a poblaciones con diversas condiciones de vulnerabilidad. Se articula lo observado en los proyectos Timbó em Movimento y ResisTO con conceptos como la interseccionalidad de los marcadores sociales de diferencia, sus implicancias en el derecho a la ciudad y sus efectos en el cotidiano de los jóvenes. Se desarrolla la implicancia de los marcadores sociales en los cotidianos de les participantes, así como el potencial de los espacios colectivos de referencia y la articulación intersectorial para enfrentar las violencias. Se concluye que los espacios de pertenencia poseen gran relevancia para el abordaje de conflictos en el campo social, potenciando la participación de les sujetes y el ejercicio de ciudadanía, rechazando la tendencia de buscar soluciones individuales a problemáticas colectivas. A partir desta demanda formativa foi criado, em outubro de 2020, um projeto de extensão intitulado “Comunidade de práticas em terapia ocupacional no SUAS: articulação profissional e construção de estratégias”, com o intuito de promover trocas de conhecimento e experiências entre terapeutas ocupacionais trabalhadoras em unidades socioassistenciais. Neste artigo se apresentam as possibilidades e os limites do trabalho no SUAS sob o ponto de vista de terapeutas ocupacionais que nele atuam e que foram participantes da Comunidade de Práticas, analisando se e como suas ações profissionais têm se relacionado com a fundamentação teórico-metodológica da terapia ocupacional social. Para isso, foi revisitado todo o material de registro produzido nos dois ciclos do projeto, efetivados de outubro de 2020 a julho de 2021. As informações extraídas das atas foram organizadas em um quadro que agrupou as temáticas encontradas. A análise dos dados revelou dois principais aspectos que possibilitam a correlação das ações das profissionais com a fundamentação teórico-metodológica da terapia ocupacional social, sendo: a necessária leitura acerca da indissociabilidade entre os fatores micro e macrossociais para o desenvolvimento do trabalho e a dimensão técnico-política da atuação terapêutico-ocupacional. Particularly, in the case of trans women, there is a bigger percentage of violence. Objective To analyze the life story of a trans woman who works in sex work, based on an intersectional and occupational analysis. Method We used a qualitative study based on the Life History research technique, considering elements of the occupational narrative interview. Results From her history, we can see that there are elements that have intersected throughout her life, such as the domains: structural, disciplinary, hegemonic, and interpersonal. And that her occupational choices have been strongly influenced by her context within occupational apartheid, seeking to generate spaces of resistance and agency in the face of different adversities. Drummond","doi":"10.1590/2526-8910.ctore258033711","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1590/2526-8910.ctore258033711","url":null,"abstract":"Resumo No processo de construção da terapia ocupacional social no Brasil nos anos de 1980, observa-se um deslocamento da centralidade do binômio saúde e doença para os fenômenos sociais decorrentes das desigualdades sociais e culturais. Vale destacar que a terapia ocupacional social ganhou notoriedade tanto no Brasil quanto internacionalmente. Não obstante os avanços dessa área, a literatura aponta que os principais gargalos para a formação da terapia ocupacional social têm sido a insuficiência de recursos humanos e a ênfase quase exclusiva das diretrizes curriculares dos cursos de terapia ocupacional voltadas à área da saúde. Diante desse cenário, torna-se relevante aprofundar a análise de como a terapia ocupacional social tem se constituído em outros cursos no país, além do estado de São Paulo, berço do surgimento da área. Este relato de experiência objetiva discutir a constituição da terapia ocupacional social, a partir do processo histórico que viabilizou a sua emergência, seus avanços e recuos no curso de graduação da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). Verifica-se que, gradativamente, a terapia ocupacional social vai se consolidando no curso na UFMG, legitimando o espaço de formação do terapeuta ocupacional. Torna-se evidente que a configuração da área se dá em campo de forças atuantes, fazendo-a avançar, recuar, manter-se. Objective To investigate the occupational performance and adaptation of mothers to their children with ASD. Method Cross-sectional, descriptive, quantitative and qualitative study conducted with 11 mothers of children with ASD aged 2-9 years. Data were collected using the Parental Disability Adaptation Scale (EPAD) and the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM). EPAD data were analyzed by adding the scores of each participant and calculating the general average, whereas COPM data were analyzed from the values assigned to performance and satisfaction. Results The mothers were well adapted to their children; however, they evaluated the presence of functional problems for occupational performance after their birth. Functional problems in the productivity category, specifically in work performance due to the demands of caring for the children, were mentioned by most mothers. In the self-care category, some mothers reported problems related to going to the salon and taking a shower. In the leisure category, some mothers indicated problems with reading, physical activity, traveling and/or visiting friends. Conclusion The mothers in this study reported that adapting to their children with ASD involves factors such as transmission of the diagnosis, information, children characteristics, socioeconomic conditions, resilience, and personal beliefs and expectations.
