Quantitative (questionnaire) and qualitative (focus group) methods were used to collect data. It is noted that teachers were well informed about innovative educational projects and they wanted support by their principal and their colleagues. Experiential seminars by specialized scientists were also considered as necessary. Applications of new technologies were considered to particularly contribute to the implementation of innovative projects. Data analysis did not reveal significant gender differences in teachers’ views. Results are of particular value for the design of training programs and the integration strategies of new technologies in the design of innovative educational projects.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130747350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This reduced participation of women, very low in disciplines related with technology motivates the hegemonic presence of androcentric and sexist values both in knowledge and in the products and information technologies that we can find in the market. In highly masculinized disciplines the inclusion of the gender perspective is important whenever the content, the results or the applications of a subject may affect human beings directly or indirectly. Specially, in disciplines related with technology where it is very common for men and women to be affected differently by technological developments. This paper focus in the context of Artificial Intelligence (AI) field, where the majority of professionals are men and their experiences shape and dominate algorithm creation. To recognize the existence of gender discriminatory biases in the algorithms and limit their consequences in the offline world, we need to introduce the gender perspective in these studies. In this document we analyze the degree of introduction of the gender perspective in the AI grades and how to improve the gender competences of the students","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128712764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The risks associated with the use of technology and the Internet and the development of critical thinking in hyperconnected actions are considered, among with descriptions of the parental control patterns used by the families. A qualitative study has been carried, working through methodologies of discussion groups and in-depth interviews. The results show that families consider social networks and video games as the principal acting scenarios in minors. Also, they perceive the addiction to new technologies, loss of values or bullying as the mayor risks perceived on the net. Accordingly, families adopt parental control measures like punishments or removal of technological devices, as well as time management and connection schedules. Similarly, they highlight their concern in considering it necessary to develop their children's critical thinking in the face of hyperconnectivity.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131216794","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to compile projects of interest, we have the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform, which has a very useful information database to locate educational projects that have been funded by the European Union. This database compiles European educational projects that have been developed in Erasmus+ and also in previous programs such as Lifelong Learning Programme since 2007. The advantage of using this tool is that it has a search engine that allows you to search by keywords and has different criteria to filter. It also allows you to export up to a maximum of 1000 projects per search in excel format with basic data from the filtered projects. Therefore, using this tool is key to be able to identify good practices in European educational projects that serve as a reference to find the parameters useful for learning improvement. This article presents the main data collected from the analysis of educational projects that are connected with eLearning and related methodologies in the aforementioned platform. It also defines which ones will be selected to be able to address an adequate analysis that is manageable to carry out the definition of a methodological guide. As a result of the initial analysis, it is considered appropriate to carry out a review of the projects linked to eLearning in KA1 and KA2 actions that have more than 50 projects connected to this topic, involving educational centers, and that are labelled as good practice and / or success story. With the projects that meet these criteria, there is enough information to achieve the objectives of the research in order to be able to design a methodological guide with the key aspects for implementing eLearning projects.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131223165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering some secondary studies on this topic, they lack to present the characteristics of empirical studies and some aspects on how personalization approaches were designed. In this paper, we present a literature review based on previous research to address these gaps. Based on our analysis, our results provide: insights on how experiments to compare personalized gamification and non-personalized gamification are designed and evaluated; evidence on the effectiveness of personalized gamification found in primary studies; and an overview of how personalization approaches were designed. Our analysis converged in possible guidelines and a research agenda revealing five main needs: i) empirical studies comparing one size fits all and personalized gamification; ii) qualitative user studies; iii) personalization approaches that consider contextual characteristics as well as iv) rely on a broader, unambiguous set of game elements; and v) a benchmark of established resources to increase research reproducibility.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"12 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128144153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These algorithms can enable disease detection, image segmentation, assessment of organ functions, among other research tasks. However, to effectively apply and benefit from artificial intelligence in this context, it is important to tackle the heterogeneity and diversity of data structures and data sources. For these reasons, it is important to rely on information systems that unify data found in medical domains. This work outlines the features of an online platform that allow different roles to upload, process and research on structured medical data and medical imaging.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128168702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, scientists all over the world have identified a common problem all over the globe: There is a strong gap in the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Statistics gathered through numerous research show that women make up a lesser percentage in the workforce, and girls and women are limited in their training to delve into these fields of study. The project described and presented in this manuscript is one of these efforts: The Women in Action project had a specific goal: To help women in vulnerable situations to develop their digital and entrepreneurship skills in Monterrey and Tijuana, Mexico. The workshop was active during the years 2017 to 2019. This document describes the core elements of the program, it's theoretical framework and some of the results gathered from video interviews and field notes taken by the facilitators during its active period, in order to help share the experience and lessons gathered through the extension of this project. The core message that wants to be delivered through this document is the following: If given the opportunity, women from diverse backgrounds demonstrated a fierce thirst for knowledge to hone their digital literacy skills. More efforts to provide these sorts of opportunities in the future will definitely have an impact in the long run if we want to reduce the gap of STEM.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116969191","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During the dialogue for the development of the global project, Control Engineering concepts are used, such as Feedback, Steady State Error, among others, whose understanding by the various partners must be clear. At present, not all engineering courses have Control Engineering content in their curriculum since it was not necessary in the past, once the global solution development was done through partial project layers. There is also the need for training for the global development of multidisciplinary solutions, given that traditional laboratories are only disciplinary (e.g. automation, heat transfer, etc.). It is also important that the educational tools available to support teaching and learning should be developed for students, so they should be developed with their support. This work presents some means developed in a collaborative environment with students to support teaching / learning.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121492979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent years, advances in technology have generated a considerable and extensive wave of changes and transformations in all areas of life, including the self. In the case of young people, the effects of this hyperconnectivity are being experienced with greater intensity since they are in the middle of their identity development. Hence, digital devices may be influencing the identity definition of our younger generations. Due to the importance of the construction of the self, we should pay attention to this phenomenon from a pedagogical and anthropological perspective. In this sense, the aim of these paper is twofold: on the one hand, to provide an explanation for the construction of the self in a digital world. And, on the other hand, from a neutral position, considering that technologies are neither intrinsically liberating nor completely trap or enslave us, but depend on our thoughts and uses, we present the project CONNECT-ID, its phases, objectives, hypothesis, methodological framework, and any possible unanswered questions.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":" 12","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120827621","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
