According to OECD data young people felt lonelier and sadder during this period increasing their exposure to technology and the consumption of digital media. In this regard the aim of the research presented is study and describe the usage of digital media among university students during the COVID-19 lockdown. A comparative study between Spain, Italy and Ecuador focuses on the usage of smartphones and content consumption during March-May 2020. Data gathering was made with the design of a questionnaire applied to a sample of 3oo undergraduate students of Journalism, Communication and Education from three public universities. Quantitative methodology was used for this descriptive-comparative study among three different countries. Results obtained show high access to technological equipment in general, with specific increase in smartphones and laptops usage being the two devices that have experienced a greater increase in use. Regarding the consumption of information, informative contents on the COVID-19, news data about the virus, as well as the statistics of progress of the contagions occupy first place. It is worth mentioning that, in the opinion of the young people surveyed, they have been able to recognize fake news and have avoided its spread, thus understanding the notion of Infodemic, established by the World Health Organization. Conclusions allow us saying that online news channels and media were the most consumed, as were social networks, which grew among youngest as channels of communication, and verified consumption of news on official channels and government spokespersons.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126981225","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research plan is located within the research line “Educational Evaluation and Guidance” which goal is to improve the level of student learning at the end of the period of compulsory education in Spain. The present study is classified within two paradigms; School Effectiveness and Educational Improvement, which have been treated separately, although currently, the research tends to integrate both perspectives. Our goal is study how schools attend to diversity students, because the literature suggests student achievement is related to inclusive education at school. Previously, we will detect high effectiveness schools through an analysis of the PISA 2018 results. Therefore, we investigate this relationship by the influence of culturally responsive school leadership, in order to discover effective culturally responsive practices which improve student's achievement.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123841829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The LearningML project aims to bring the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to children and people interested in acquiring knowledge on this subject in an easy way. AI has heavily irrupted in society and everyone is using, more or less consciously, application based on AI. Therefore, some kind of AI literacy is needed if we are to educate critically thinking citizens able to understand technologies that have a relevant impact on their lives. In this presentation we show how LearningML can help us to reach this goal trough programming applications based on Machine Learning (ML), the most prevalent subfield of AI today.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127709351","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study is one step ahead on the seek for a simplified modeling technique for these muscles. Previous studies on the same topic have been done and the results show that is possible simplify a muscle using a 1D element, rod type, for muscle modeling. The final aim is obtaining a methodology in which we can predict the muscle behavior under load, and during joint movement, so we can study fatigue effects, maximum effort obtained, improvements in movements in the joint in order to minimize effort on muscles, and many others. Once we can predict the muscle behavior in movement several applications can be developed. This study uses the power of existing CAD modeling and finite elements analysis tools, plus techniques for reconstruction human joints based on NMR images.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122234092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It involves energy and financial knowledge, citizen's attitudes and intentions, and citizen's habits and behavior related to energy. Thus, the assessment of energy literacy levels gives us a general view of citizen's knowledge, concerns, and habits in the energy context. Many factors may influence these levels, nevertheless, in this paper, we will concentrate our research on age to find some patterns. The influence of age on energy literacy has been studied before, however, the difference found in the factors that influence energy literacy by age group was not studied before, at the top of our knowledge. Our paper aims to fill this gap. We also investigate the relationship between attitude, behavior, and knowledge, within defined age groups. The results show that seniors perform better than the other age groups in energy literacy and all of its dimensions, except on behavior. The results also highlight the importance of financial knowledge and energy awareness to determine energy knowledge and energy literacy, and a strong dual relationship between attitude and behavior.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"2012 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128161477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When measuring complex cognitive constructs, it is crucial to correctly design the evaluation items to trigger the intended knowledge and skills. Furthermore, to assess the validity of a test requires considering not only the content of the evaluation tasks involved in the test, but also whether examinees respond to the tasks by engaging construct-relevant response processes. The eye tracking observations helped to fill an ‘explanatory gap’ by providing data on variation in item response processes that are not captured by other sources of process data such as think aloud protocols or computer-generated log files. We proposed a set of metrics that could help test designers to validate the different item formats used in the evaluation of digital competence. The gaze data provided detailed information on test item response strategies, enabling profiling of examinee engagement and response processes associated with successful performance. There were notable differences between the participants who correctly solved the tasks and those who failed, in terms of the time spent on solving them, as well as the data on their gazes. Moreover, this included insights into response processes which contributed to the validation of the assessment criteria of each item.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134551021","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a consequence of this situation, a world-level public health alert has been activated, implying that national Health systems must adapt to provide for it. COVID-19 meant a challenge for these Health systems, as in the more severe moments of the pandemic a number of situations arose in which there were not enough neither beds, nor staff, to provide a proper care to all the patients that required it. In these situations, it is essential to perform a meticulous and appropriate screening process, as from it depends that the most vulnerable patients showing a better healing probability will be selected, thus avoiding damages that could cost them their life. In these circumstances, it becomes essential to have tools and protocols available to facilitate the triage process that is, in essence, a decision-making problem aimed to establish a hierarchization of cases. In this work a multi-criteria method is conceptually proposed, based on vague numbers that, taking into account the opinions and considerations of multiple experts, allows to establish a hierarchy that establishes priorities towards Intensive Care Unit (ICU) admission. Because the method is still under development, it hasn't been possible yet to carry out tests intensively, but it is expected that its usage could help the professionals to make decisions in a faster and safer way, improving the process quality and aiming to avoid potential mistakes.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134341597","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ESE should change environment related attitudes and encourage lifelong pro-environmental behaviors, that is focus on attitudinal learning. However, behavioral changes do not manifest easily because they are curtailed by constraints and negative perceptions. Hence, in ESE a persuasive pedagogical tool is needed. One such effective tool in attitudinal learning is Digital game-based learning (DGBL). DGBL environments provide cognitive knowledge and emotionally engage learners by enabling them to test new behaviors and learn from the immediate consequences they see. This paper explains the insights gathered while conducting three research studies that used DGBL in ESE. All studies found that DGBL was effective in attitudinal learning.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"195 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133648634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
