Wittgenstein’s Philosophy and Austrian Economics 维特根斯坦哲学与奥地利经济学

{"title":"Wittgenstein’s Philosophy and Austrian Economics","authors":"Richard Mcdonough","doi":"10.3968/5884","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3968/5884","url":null,"abstract":"The paper, following a suggestion by Kripke, argues that there is an illuminating analogy between Wittgenstein’s philosophy and Austrian economics (particularly that of Mises and Hayek).  Most scholars interpret paragraph 608 of Wittgenstein’s Zettel (hereafter Z608) to suggest that language might arise out of physical chaos at the neural centre.  Since, however, Wittgenstein holds that the philosopher must not advance theories, he cannot consistently be advancing such theories in Z608.  Rather, all the key concepts in Z608 must be cashed in terms of Wittgenstein’s “forms of life”.  Thus, Z608, read carefully, suggests that language “arises”, not out of chaos in the brain, but out of the chaotic activities in human forms of life.  The paper shows that an analogous picture occurs in the early Austrian economists (such as Hayek, who is Wittgenstein’s cousin, and Mises). Z608 is part of a still unappreciated Austrian movement that emphasizes the creative chaos in human life.  In this connection the paper explains how Z608 is an application of Wittgenstein’s “private language argument” against a neural theory of a private language. However, at present, there exists a series of disadvantages in the system of the administrative legal supervision in China, such as, irrationality of the allocation of power in its overall distribution in the system of administrative legal supervision; deficiency of independence supposed of the supervision subject; bad effect of the supervision means and supervision mode; lack of due transparency in terms of the supervision procedure. With the expedition of the process of industrialization and urbanization, a large majority of rural labor forces flow to urban cities. As a result, the phenomenon of left-behind children becomes more prominent who have become an important group in building a harmonious socialist society in China. As they are isolated from their parents for a long period of time, quite a lot of left-behind children have the problems of inferiority complex, psychological inversion, interpersonal disorder and deviation between personality and behavior, etc.. To achieve substantive results of Curriculum Reform, we need to solve four “bottlenecks” that are a fundamental constraint on the development of Basic Education Curriculum Reform. While the practice overseas, especially in USA, being fully developed, has a very long historical standing and has important implications for ORS development in China. This topic is to probe into the necessity of implementation of ORS in China based on Buchanan’s Government Failure Theory and Robert Reinhardt’s New Public Service Theory and briefly introduces the background and implementation obstacles in China. And then, reasons and terms to implement ORS in USA will be dissected in line with government capacity, system safeguard, and political consensus. Afterwards, this paper will analyze features of ORS in USA. Generally speaking, it has described the life of Chopin in 1930s and 1940s during his residence in Paris France. Chopin has experienced the spiritual conflicts between love and hatred, and between body and soul in his fight for enterprise, for love, for himself and for his country. Later, he decided to raise money by touring performance for the Patriots in bloody battle until over-fatigued to the last breath of his life. The film particularly employs flamboyant colors, magnificent scenes, dainty pictures and various techniques of montage, which is extremely entertaining and is honored as “a colorful rhapsody”. When the film was shown in 1945 with ceremony, it has touched the mind of Chinese audience, evoking people’s deep response. It has also caused “big waves” in America.
