The Social Skills Improvement System was tested on 108 students aged 6-12 years. Social skills measurement include seven dimensions, that are empathy, cooperation, assertiveness, communication, self-control, participation, and responsibility. The adaptation process includes translation, back-translation, and expert judgment. Legibility tests then were conducted on 10 students with special needs. Reliability test shows that the measurement has an Alpha value of 0.833. Confirmatory Factor Analysis is done to see the loading factor of each item in the measuring instrument for students with special needs in inclusive primary schools. It was found that 24 items (three items with a loading factor below the good value is preserved) in the instrument had a factor loading ranging between 0.04-0.70 (RMSEA = 0.063, IFI = 0.89 and GFI = 0.80). Based on these results, it can be concluded that SSIS measuring instruments that have been adapted into Indonesian is valid and reliable to measure the social skill of special need primary students. The inability of children to hear and the lack of vocabulary mastered by children causes difficulties in understanding and conveying messages between parents and children. This causes the need for parents to convey and receive messages from children not achieved perfectly and cause stress. This study aims to determine the relationship between barriers to communication with stress in parents who have deaf children at primary school level at SLBN (state special needs school) Pembina Pekanbaru. The method in this study uses a quantitative approach with correlational research design. This research is a population research, with the subject of the research are all parents who have deaf children at the elementary school level in the SLBN Pembina Pekanbaru, total 42 people. The data of this study were obtained using a scale of communication barriers revealed by researchers from the theory described by Fajar (2009) regarding the barriers to communication and stress scale revealed by researchers from the theory of Sarafino (1997) regarding stress and symptoms. The results of data analysis using the Product Moment correlation technique from Pearson through the help of the SPSS 24.0 for windows program showed a value of r = 0.819 with a significant value p = 0.00, meaning there is a positive relationship between communication barriers to stress in parents who have deaf children at primary school level in the SLBN Pembina Pekanbaru.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129592707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Focusing on justice and legal protection rights as one of the listed rights of people with disabilities in Law Number 8 of 2016, and its implementation in Indonesia General Court system, this research used documentary data and analyzed in normative juridical research methods that focused on legal materials which are related to the topic. The results of this research indicate that disability access to justice is not fully applied in Indonesia General Court system, caused by the financial placements and the number of people with disabilities’ cases. Moreover, the implementing regulation as the guidelines for adjudicating people with disabilities’ cases (as the step to fulfill justice rights) has not been formed yet. This brings the judicial process of people with disabilities' cases run as is for non-disability people without considering the recommendation from medics, psychologist, or psychiatrist.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130689643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mentally retarded children tend to experience verbal ability barriers in describing CSA cases. This study aims to describe the prevention of CSA by parents, teachers and health professionals, including the risk of CSA in mentally retarded children, need for CSA prevention, form of CSA prevention and effectiveness of CSA prevention in mentally retarded children. Method: PRISMA was used as a guide in compiling the systematic literature review based on the inclusion criteria to determine research articles, search strategies, and research findings. Four databases used in this research included Sage Journal, Ebsco Host, Scopus and Taylor & Francis (Social Sciences & Humanities Subject). Results: mentally retarded children have a higher risk of CSA than other normal children. The need for CSA prevention are felt by parents and teachers because of the lack of knowledge and ability to do prevention. The form of CSA prevention can be done with various efforts from various parties including parents. The CSA prevention program through role-play or training to face threatening situations is effective for mentally retarded children. It is expected that these findings will become a reference for nurses in ensuring the need for CSA prevention knowledge and ability for mentally disabled children.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"258 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133366823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A total of 82, 674 disabled people information were included in the study. The 40 informational fields have been classified into 11 main categories. The Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) technique were used for mapping and discovering the relationships. The results show that, 68.87% of the disabled people were urban residents. The disability rate of cities ranges from 10.54 to 43.05. As many as 63.43% of the disabled suffered from severe and extremely severe disabilities. About 60.59% of disabled were males 65.17% were married. In terms of educational level, as many as 87.61% of them had educational levels lower than junior high school. In terms of occupational status, about 74.24% of them were unemployed. There was a positive relationship between poverty and disability rate in 70.37% of the counties. Moreover, there was a positive relationship between population and disability ratio. In terms of disability variables, a significant difference was observed between different counties. The output of GWR method indicates that there was a positive and significant relationship between population and poverty level with disability ratio (Std. Dev. ≥ 0.05). However, the severity of this relationship varies in different counties.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"200 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127669027","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
