Mathematical model of this TOU power price is developed taking account in interests of both power supply and power consumers. Numerical simulation is made using load and power price data of Zhejiang Province and MATLAB. From simulation results, it is verified that using TOU power price determined in this paper can accomplish the aim of maximizing social benefits which is to obtain optimal balance between load shifting and reducing costs of power consumers. Thus peak load can be reduced to a satisfactory level to relieve the situation that power supply capacity is insufficient. A novel parallel radial basis function neural network (PRBFN) is suggested to predict bus voltage magnitudes in an efficient manner. Proposed parallel radial basis function neural network is a multistage network, in which stages operate in parallel rather than in series during testing. The nonlinear mapping capability of radial basis function has been exploited along with forward-backward training. The input features for PRBFN are selected using entropy concept to reduce the dimension of inputs as well as size of the neural network. The proposed method is used to predict bus voltage magnitudes at different loading as well as generating conditions and for single line outages of IEEE-14 bus system. It is a considerable problem for PX to make maintenance scheduling to play fair, to balance the declaring demand between generate companies and to undertake the reliability of grid. The benefit bodies classify into n+2 kinds: n generate companies, the grid company and \"society\". According to this analysis, the maintenance scheduling model is represented as multi-objective optimum problem. The objects are so much that the mathematics solution is difficult. If weighting average method is adapted to shift these to single object, the physical meaning of the weighting is not clear. On the basis of analyzing the gain and loss of all economic entities, n+2 objective functions are changed to 2 objective functions and weighting average method is adapted to realize the single objective function optimum. The ERCOT market is a bilateral market and only about five percent of energy required by the system is purchased through the ERCOT balancing energy market. The ERCOT market deploys both balancing energy up and balancing energy down services, and overlapped balancing bids exist in the market. This study provides a thorough investigation into various types of balancing bid overlap and reveals the crux of the problem. It offers solid conclusions for ERCOT power market administrators to guide market behavior by looking through the superficial phenomena and focusing on the real problem underneath. The location of SMES device is quite important. In the paper, an algorithm to calculate sensitivities of eigenvalues to loads is proposed, and the influences of the generator damping on the movements of eigenvalues are analyzed. Afterward, the steps of selecting the location of SMES as a disturbance source and the method of selecting the capacity of SMES are proposed. The system operator uses an optimization procedure to determine the accepted bids of units and clearing prices of different markets. Since the same generating unit can participate different markets simultaneously, different markets may impact one another. Study of how different markets interact with each other can provide insights to the market operation and behavior, which may be useful for market participants to make sound bidding decisions. However, this procedure can be complex and appropriate simulation tools would be helpful. In this paper, a power market simulator is utilized to study the interaction between ancillary service and energy markets. Ancillary service markets for regulation down reserve, regulation up reserve, spinning reserve, non-spinning reserve and replacement reserve are considered. The proposed hybrid model determines the optimal bilateral or multilateral transaction and their corresponding load curtailment in two stages. In the first stage classical gradient descent optimal power flow algorithm has been used to determine the set of feasible curtailment strategies for different amount of real and reactive power transactions. Whereas in the second stage fuzzy decision opinion matrix has been used to select the optimal transaction strategy considering increase in private power transaction, reduction in percentage curtailment, and its corresponding change in per unit generation cost and hence profit as fuzzy variables. The performance of the proposed algorithm has been tested using modified IEEE 30 bus test system.
