In this paper, the transfer characteristic of partial discharge pulse propagation along its winding is investigated based on vector fitting. The frequency response curve of the winding has been tested. Vector Fitting using rational function consisting of real poles as well as complex conjugate poles and zeros to fitting the frequency response based on tested data. Then the transfer function of the winding is obtained by this way. It can remove the aberration, which caused by the partial discharge pulse propagation in transformer winding. The method is simple and effective. From the viewpoint of control theory, the quantity bidding competition is modeled as close-loop dynamic system, where market price is the system feedback signal. Based on the objective of maximizing individual profit in a shot-game, a general dynamic process is given to describe supplier's adjustment behavior, which can be used to model all classical bidding and CV-based bidding strategies. With the application of control theory, sufficient stability conditions and market equilibrium is presented. The approach includes three steps: Firstly we use PRBS probing technique and N4SID to obtain a reduced-order model of the studied system. Then wide-area measurements are employed as feedback signals and an optimal damping control loop is designed via LQR approach for the FACTS controller in a multi-machine environment. Finally with communication delays of WAMS considered, a least square prediction algorithm is developed to derive instant feedback quantities, and thus make the proposed control practicable in real systems. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach, case study is fulfilled using a two-area four-machine power system with STATCOM, one of the most promising FACTS controllers, connected to the inter-area transmission. It can substantially improve the coordination of protection relay operations. The relay settings and coordination requirements are formulated into a set of constraint equations and an objective function is developed to manage the relay settings by the time coordination method (TCM). Modified evolutionary programming (MEP) is employed to search for the optimum relay settings with maximum satisfaction of coordination constraints. The results show that the intelligent method for protection coordination can optimize the protection relay settings, reduce relay mis-coordinated operations, and increase supply reliability. The main aim of the paper is to analyze the effect of coordinated fuzzy logic based SSSC on real power flow, damping of first swing and to improve transient stability margin of a single machine infinite bus system. The two different controllers namely; [i] Conventional power oscillation damping controller of SSSC (NFLC), [ii] Fuzzy logic based coordinated controller of SSSC (CFLC) are considered for their comparative studies. Fuzzy rules for the controller are based on measurable components of the transmission line. Simulation results show that the proposed fuzzy logic based controller provides satisfactory performance in terms of increase in power transfer capability, improved damping of transients and transient stability margin of the test system. The property extraction of UMCP and UMCP forecast model based improved ICA are presented in order to not only decrease the feature dimensions and the complexity of model, but also enhance the model practicability and forecast accuracy. Firstly, the whitened factor data as mixed input signals is extracted by improved fixed-point algorithm. Then artificial neural network (ANN) forecast model is built on the basis of the extracted feature samples and used to forecast UMCP. This study briefly discusses the deregulation of the Singapore electricity sector before employing a log-linear form for estimating the coefficient of price-quantity relationships in the electricity demand. Two-stage least squares regression method is used and the estimation would yield the elasticity of demand. The more elastic is the demand, the more consumption efficient is the new electricity market. This is because consumers who are allowed to choose their retailers or purchase electricity on their own behalf will be able to choose the best package and also to make more efforts to respond to price fluctuations. The analysis reveals that the market would bring about some consumption-efficiency gains. SMD comprises a congestion management methodology for revealing and assigning costs of supplying electricity across limited transmission facilities and a two-part market settlement structure consisting of a \"day-ahead\" and a \"day-of\" settlement that allows for greater financial certainty to market participants. Day-ahead market, real-time market, and financial transmission rights (FTR) auction are the key market elements of SMD. Based on the problem of security-constrained economic dispatch, an extended LMP model with transmission loss consideration will be presented.
