The study area is a defined region located in Boca del Río Veracruz, Mexico. An unstructured cellular automata model is implemented in an OpenMP C++ code; geographical information data is included and visualizations are achieved by the use of Phyton. We run our model in time and report the changes in temperatures due to shade canopy. We also estimate the reduction in home electrical energy consumption. Therefore, we conclude that a properly implemented urban afforestation program can be a valuable alternative for climate urban change mitigation and reduction of electrical power consumption.","PeriodicalId":427104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Veracruz (ICEV)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114320314","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Information from insecurity and victimization surveys have a central role in formulating policies against insecurity. This paper presents the development and implementation of the Insecurity Perceiver application on Android. During the document, the architecture and technologies used to build the application are described. This app allows users to register their perception of insecurity on a scale of 1 to 5 by adding their geographical position. With the users’ records, the Insecurity Perceiver shows a map with all the data generated, giving an overview of the danger perceived by users in a geographical area.","PeriodicalId":427104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Veracruz (ICEV)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114456366","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Speed estimation using CSAT only requires measuring the current motor which is always easily accessible and safe because non-invasive sensors are used. The experimental test results show speed estimation is approximately within 0.9 % error.","PeriodicalId":427104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Veracruz (ICEV)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131601331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The nanoparticle suspensions used in this work were solvent-based. A small amount of the suspensions was placed on the sensitive surface of an interdigitated capacitance sensor and left to evaporate at ambient temperature while the capacitance signal was registered. Our sensor has a driving and a sensing interdigitated spiral electrode array and the output signal is proportional to the impedance difference between similar sensors, reference and sensing. They were designed and fabricated over a glass-substrate. A low noise measurement system based on a Lock-in Amplifier monitored continuously in time the evaporation process of nanoparticle suspension droplet by registering variations of the imaginary component of the differential current. The results show that it is possible to infer the presence of nanoparticles in suspension and distinguish, at least between two types of nanoparticles, at very low volume concentrations.","PeriodicalId":427104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Veracruz (ICEV)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134332627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this way, it will be possible to monitor the state of the garbage collector, being able to observe its weight and the filling level of the garbage collector device, as well as the measurement of airspeed to be able to detect certain climatic parameters that could alter the operation of the collecting device. These communication systems will contribute to an effective and fast collection in the garbage collection process, thus avoiding the collapse in the garbage collectors, as a result, a good response was obtained and we were able to verify that the communication modules are appropriate.","PeriodicalId":427104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Veracruz (ICEV)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128961699","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a supervised learning method namely artificial hydrocarbon networks (AHN) to predict water consumption one hour ahead. A Hall effect sensor was used to obtain the water flow value through an embedded system and to show it in an interface developed in Visual Studio. For that, the embedded system sent the data in real time to a database in Firebase using the JSON communication protocol. There, the consumed water flow is stored periodically. Experimental results of the supervised learning model conclude that AHN model predicts the conditions for efficient consumption with an average root-mean squared error of 2.4924 liters per hour.","PeriodicalId":427104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Veracruz (ICEV)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132007335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there are many challenges to overcome in order to successfully reduce emissions. It must be a cheap, abundant, efficient solution that occupy a small space and can be retrofitted to existing diesel engines.The objective of this experiment is to research the effect of adding Hydrogen in diesel engines. It is technically possible to inject in the inlet manifold Hydrogen in diesel engines. The experiment was conducted in a one-cylinder engine, in various running conditions. It was tested with various flow rates of hydrogen, also.The tests seek to verify that the hydrogen injection adapts to engine operation without major modifications. Subsequently, various tests were performed to measure the engine emissions. This research involves several experiments made in diesel engines to gradually blend hydrogen into it resulting in fewer emissions and helping to develop a market demand for green hydrogen, letting economies of scale to reduce prices and increase competitivity.The study is in the context of a country like Uruguay where electricity is 98% renewable. Nowadays is facing the issue of dealing with surplus of electricity in times of low demand and how to satisfy peak demand. The hydrogen might be a solution, being produced when energy is abundant, stocking up for consumption and creating an energy storage when demand of energy increase.Furthermore, this research analyzes the latest development in new lightweight materials capable of resisting 750 bars of pressure, increasing the energy density of hydrogen making it an alternative for the use of scrubbers, with the advantage of not creating any sludge or waste.","PeriodicalId":427104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Conference on Engineering Veracruz (ICEV)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131069756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
