Virtual reality is expected to have a bright future due to the rise of several virtual reality head mounted device such as low cost Google Cardboard, Samsung Gear VR, Oculus, HTC Vive and many others. Since virtual reality had been growing fast in this few years thus it is necessary to explore new approaches for user to interact with the virtual reality more naturally. It is an important research in HCI to make the interactions with computers to be as natural as the interaction between humans. One of the approaches is to allow user to interact with the virtual reality through gesture and speech input. This paper presents a virtual reality environment with multimodal interaction technique. It allows user to interact with the virtual reality system with the static and stroke hand gesture along with speech. This multimodal interaction technique is able to perform few functions such as select, move, scale, rotate, copy, mirror, delete, check the shape, check and change the colour of an object.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127102750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Femtocells are proven in enhancing the quality of service of indoor users. Generally, femtocells are installed without being planned by users, and cannot be controlled directly by operator. It causes major problem such as cross-tier interference. Handover process solves this interference problem by changing serving node for users around femtocells. Location of femtocells are generally adjacent to each other. Hence, the selection of an appropriate handover target becomes very important. In this paper, we analyzed new algorithm by considering RSRP and femtocell closest distance to determine the handover target. The algorithm makes the handover target chosen appropriately. Simulation results show that the use of our proposed algorithm produces CDF of SINR better than considering RSRP only.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"202 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134379562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As power flow violates transmission constraints, redispatching generating units is required and this will cause the price at every node to vary. This manuscript introduces a scheme for economic redispatch model based on DC optimal power flow taking into account the transmission issue in order to obtain an optimal energy price, especially when transmission congestion takes place. A proposed scheme is discussed in this paper, to concisely evaluate the foremost indication in calculating the energy price, which is characterised by locational marginal price. The techniques used to incorporate transmission congestion into the model are examined as well.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133279506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The BMO is a nature-inspired optimization algorithm that imitates the mating behavior of bird species to breed broods with better genes in order to formulate superior searching techniques. BMO has more capability to effectively explore and exploit the search space and find the global solution by employing three operators to generate a new solution: two parent mating, multi-parents mating, and mutation. The BAP is a non-polynomial hard combinatorial optimization problem, which seeks to serve the vessels at discrete berth position and minimize the total handling and waiting time for all vessels. The performance of the proposed BMO is evaluated across benchmark instances with different sizes from the scientific literature. Experimental results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed BMO is comparable with the other methods in the literature for some instances. Indeed, the proposed BMO yields better results than CIPLEX algorithm on most instances. This demonstrated that the BMO is a promising optimization algorithm for solving berth allocation problem. The grammar of the Japanese input is evaluated by the system using several natural language processing (NLP) tools. Type of grammatical errors that can be analysed by the system are writing error, particle usage error, sentence formation error, predicate usage error, and relevance error. The NLP tools used are morphemes analyzer and syntax analyzer, with some other specific modules to process the NLP tools result. The system evaluation is divided into sentence's completeness evaluation, tree structure evaluation, and grammatical function evaluation. Given a Japanese sentence input, the system detects the errors, analyses the cause of the errors, and finally gives instructions to the user about how to correct the sentence. By using 264 input sentences collected for the system evaluation, system achieved an accuracy of 80.30% in giving the fully relevant responses. The user experience's evaluation involves 12 respondents and gives the average score of 73.09 out of 100.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128622734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The cavity horizontal walls were assumed to be adiabatic while the right wall has spatial sinusoidal temperature variations about a constant mean value and the left wall is cooled. The governing equations were solved using nonstandard finite difference method on uniform rectangular meshes and solution of algebraic equations was made based on successive over and under relaxation method. The effects of the inclination angle of the cavity on the natural convection inside the cavity were studied. Results obtained were compared with the classical finite difference scheme.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131276884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each song in the game gives its player new excitement to try another song or another difficulty level. However, behind every song being played is a lot of work. A beatmap should be created in order for a song to be played in the game. This paper presents an alternate way to create a beatmap that is considered playable for Osu Game utilizing beat and melody detection using machine learning approach and SVM as its learning method. The steps consists of notes detection and notes placement. Notes detection basically consists of features extraction from an audio file using DSP Java Library and learning process using Weka and LibSVM. However, detect the presence of notes only does not solve anything. The notes should be placed in the game using PRAAT and Note Placement Algorithm. From this process, a beatmap can be created from a song in about 3 minutes and the accuracy of the note detection is 86%.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126757935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This results in increase difficulty for database management and larger datasets from existing applications. The organizations face the challenge to capture, manage and analyze the data in an acceptable period of time due to the increasing size of data sets, ranging from several terabytes to multiple petabytes. The proposed research aims at resolving the problem faced in internet traffic measurement and depth analysis. As there is a wide growth in the internet traffic and high speed access, the system is facing a scalability problem. To overcome this, we are introducing a Hadoop based traffic monitoring system which performs analysis of multi-terabytes (IP, HTTP, TCP, NetFlow) of the internet traffic system in a scalable manner and for in-depth analysis of the problem, the paper shows the different features.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131785422","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
