Extraction of QRS part from ECG signal is an important topic research from several years. Pan Tompkins method is a well known and widely used one for the QRS detection which consists of digital differentiator as one of the constituent part. In this paper, an attempt is made to study the working of the Pan Tompkins algorithm by replacing the digital differentiator block with the Infinite Impulse Response Digital differentiators. All simulations are carried out using MATLAB and the results obtained are comparable to the conventional method.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124858589","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A non-isolated, single-ended primary inductor converter (SEPIC) fed from AC mains through a diode bridge rectifier (DBR) is used as power quality controller at AC mains. The load torque and speed control is proposed through a single current sensor control and DC link voltage control strategies respectively. The proposed converter and controllers are designed and modelled for a 1.1 KW, 1400 rpm, 7.4 Nm PMBLDC motor. The simulated performance under steady state and transient conditions in MATLAB/Simulink, are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed concepts.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"154 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132221558","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper investigates the properties of the ultra-high frequency (UHF) electromagnetic (EM) wave emanating from the air discharge (corona) under high voltage DC source. By applying both positive and negative high voltage DC ranging up to 135 kV, a rod antenna and a horn antenna were used as UHF sensors to detect any EM wave emission from PD activity and breakdown in air insulation. The experiment results show that typical PD emission signals under positive DC have higher voltage amplitude and wider burst width pulses than the typical PD emission signals under negative DC. Moreover, it is found that the first-peak of EM wave emission under positive DC has negative polarity while under negative DC has positive polarity. In addition, FFT analysis shows that this typical air discharge has dominant amplitude in frequency bands below 250MHz. Another significant result of this experiment is the inability of the horn antenna to detect the EM emission from air discharge.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134120850","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Researchers have previously explored security threats to mobile applications through wireless network access, including the disclosure of personal information through unencrypted traffic, excessive information disclosure to service providers, and flaws in TLS security. This study replicates these security threats and performs an assessment of the potential privacy impact for a sample of 30 Android applications. The results show that disclosure of personal information through unencrypted traffic is a significant risk. Individual applications were found which disclosed a user's identity and application usage, and persistent device identifiers were leaked allowing user information to be linked across applications and wireless sessions. A small number of applications disclosed inappropriate amounts of personal information to service providers which could allow user tracking. TLS issues continue to pose a risk, with one application exhibiting a previously identified TLS certificate validation issue, and a potentially new encryption protocol downgrade flaw was identified triggered by an invalid certificate. Insecure authentication techniques were used by 30% of applications tested and pose a privacy risk even when applications use TLS.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"39 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127986771","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the usability principles are widely adopting the non-responsive design in interface web development. However, new trends in interface web development are adopting responsive web design technique. The responsive web design technique is becoming more significance due to high demand of user friendly's interface in website. Responsive web design is defined as a set of techniques applied during the layout level of a project. Therefore, it allows a website to adapt itself to any device according to the width of screen due to various size of devices screen and resolution that lead to different size of layout of the same website. Therefore, it is important to further investigate the most appropriate usability principle that can be adopted in responsive web design for interface web development. This paper is aimed to analyse the most appropriate usability principles in responsive web design as a new trend in interface web development. This paper employed the content analysis method to analyze the data. The results revealed that there are five usability principles that are most appropriate in responsive web design: consistency, familiarity, flexibility, efficient feedback and aesthetically pleasing. The identified usability principles help to provide a website with greater look, consistent and tailored according to the different devices while browsing without zooming in and all pages will be suited to the screen size.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126668946","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most existing works defines the pattern set manually or using heuristic approach. In this paper, we propose learning-based approach using decision tree and rule learning to generate pattern set based on sequence labelling. The patterns will be used to identify and extract aspect in customer product review combined with opinion lexicon. We use ID3, J48, RandomTree, Part and Prism to generate pattern that identifies aspect, based on sequence labelling. Our experiment results based on some generated pattern using Decision Tree and Rule Learning, show that the generated pattern can produced better performance than baseline model. Information technology (IT) is the most outsourced function. Due to the large number of highly capable IT vendors in developing countries, many firms in developed countries outsource their IT function to vendors in developing countries to reap the benefits i.e. lower cost. Although the amount of global IT outsourcing is enormous, IT vendors in Indonesia have not been able to take a significant share. The critical factor that inhibits Indonesian IT providers to compete in the global IT outsourcing market is related to the provider's low capability, and therefore studying on the IT provider's capability is valuable for Indonesia. This paper is aimed to model the IT provider's capability in different stages of a vendor and client relationship. The stages in the relationship of a vendor and a client include a transactional and a relational stage. Each stage has its unique features and challenges so that it requires unique capabilities. The critical substantive capabilities at the transactional stage include client relationship, process, and project management capabilities. The critical substantive capabilities at the relational stage include client business understanding, process, client relationship, human resources management, and project management capabilities. The development of substantive capabilities from the transactional stage to the relational stage is influenced by firm's dynamic capabilities.","PeriodicalId":426454,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI)","volume":" 37","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132094007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
