The kernel functions of GFMs is GF-system, which is a class of complete orthogonal spline function set of degree k(k=0,1,2,?). The implementation of GFMs does not involve any numerical approximation and has a rather low computation complexity, since the basis set has the advantages of lower order. These properties make GFMs superior to the traditional polynomial moments such as Legendre moments and Zernike moments, in terms of the image reconstruction. Our simulation results also show that GFMs have a better feature representation capability.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114086120","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the number of hand gestures has not been fully explored for HCI application. It is necessary to achieve more gestures as the command of interface. This paper proposed a method to recognize nine different hand gestures. Using camera to get images of people wearing pink gloves, and then preprocess those images by color splitting, morphological processing and edge extraction. Fourier descriptor, edge histogram and boundary moment invariants are three methods of feature extraction. At last, the template matching was used to realize the hand gesture recognition. The average recognition rate of the nine different gestures employing three different methods is 0.859.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116508629","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditionally, there are two types of methods to construct a dictionary: k-means and optimization-based method. The former cannot achieve a good discriminability because it extracts too many background features. The latter needs to cooperate with coding methods and brings about high computational complexity. In this paper, we present an effective method based on Gist information detection to obtain a more discriminative dictionary with low computational cost. First, we partition the image into increasingly fine sub-regions, and calculate the Gist information of each region. Then extract more features from sub-regions with richer information and fewer features from ones with less information. Finally construct a dictionary using the non-uniform sampling features. Experiments on Caltech101 show that our method can achieve a better performance than traditionally k-means and the optimization-based method. Hence our dictionary has a better discrimination.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132715547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Focusing on the characteristic of high radiometric resolution multispectral images, Reversible Karhunen-Loêve transform (RKLT) followed by integer wavelet transform (IWT) is applied to host images. Secret messages are embedded by a multilevel histogram modification technique in the transform domain. The Triangular Elementary Reversible Matrixes (TERM) are also embedded as secret messages into the input image which guarantees the host image can be perfectly restored after the embedded data extracted. Experimental results on multispectral images obtained from Quick Bird show that the proposed method has better visual quality and higher hiding capacity than the representative methods.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132383544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the additive model of images with intensity in homogeneity, we characterize the statistics of image intensities belonging to each different object in local regions as Gaussian distributions with different means and variances. According to maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) and Bayes rule, we first derive a local objective function for image intensities in a neighborhood around each pixel. Then this local objective function is integrated with respect to the neighborhood center over the entire domain to give a global criterion. In a level set formulation, this global criterion defines an energy in terms of the level set functions that represent a partition of the image domain and a bias field that accounts for the intensity in homogeneity of the image. Therefore, image segmentation and bias field estimation are simultaneously achieved via a level set evolution process. Experimental results for synthetic and real images show desirable performances of our method.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121409100","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We represent a set of collected race paths in a path database using a formation graph in the preprocessing stage. Since the synthesized path is generated from existing paths with quality guaranteed, the synthesized path also provides the same level of quality.
