To improve the efficiency, we utilize the strategy of heuristic search to reduce the large search space of dynamic programming (DP) algorithm between sample points of every two shapes during shape matching. In this paper, we presented an approach for building an ATR system with improved artificial neural network, which can be used to recognize and classify the infrared targets in army field. Because of the invariance of rotation, translation and scaling, we selected the features of Hu invariant moments and roundness as input of the neural network. In order to increase the speed of training, the L-M (Levenberg-Marquardt) algorithm was introduced to improve the traditional BP neural network. The results of simulation show that the approach can meet the requirement of the ATR system in high adaptability and good identification effect.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114587348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the proposed algorithm area term practices a new region-based signed pressure force (SPF) function which utilizes the image local information obtained using the local binary fitted (LBF) energy model. By introducing the SPF function based on local fitted image (LFI), the proposed model is able to segment images with intensity in homogeneities. A Gaussian kernel is used to regularize the level set function which not only regularizes it but also removes the need of computationally expensive re-initialization. The proposed segmentation algorithm is applied to synthetic and real images in order to demonstrate the accuracy, effectiveness, and robustness of the algorithm.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114645360","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a channel allocation scheme for mixed services, especially video streaming, based on mean opinion score (MOS) maximization. MOS is an effective metric of Quality of Experience (QoE) that directly measures the satisfaction of the end users. The cognitive radio network base station (CRNBS) collects all the SUs' application information and allocates available channel resource to the SUs with the overall user perceived MOS maximized and fairness among SUs ensured. The simulation results confirm that the proposed MOS-based channel allocation scheme outperforms the conventional good put-based scheme in terms of overall user satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114894079","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It consists of only a micro-lens array (MLA) and two low resolution liquid crystal panels, one panel for amplitude modulation while another panel for phase modulation. A parallel illuminating laser beam is first modulated by the two panels and then focused into point light source array (PLSA) by MLA. Voxels are recreated via constructive interference of light waves from the PLSA. The intensity of a voxel is proportional to the square of the number of point light sources that shed light on it and the brightness of each point light source. A little away from a voxel the intensity of the light field decreases dramatically due to mismatch of phase. With quantities of voxels large and sharp discrete 3D images could be displayed in the air within a large volume. As an example, 3D image quality for a particular object under particular screen parameters was analyzed.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114900077","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we focus our research on commercial categorization by mining the temporal-spatial context of TV commercial. To boost the discrimination ability of the traditional VBoW in commercial categorization, a more flexible representation, i.e. sparse coding based VBoW (sVBoW), is presented to describe the co-occurrence of semantic units in different kinds of commercials. Meanwhile, both the temporal and spatial cues are fully exploited to reflect the context characteristics of TV commercial. The promising experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme on commercial categorization.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124040596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Wyner-Ziv video coding is a new coding paradigm different from the traditional video coding standards by shifting from the encoder to the decoder the process of predicting the current frame based on motion estimation and motion compensation. However, in Wyner-Ziv video coding almost existing motion compensated temporal interpolation (MCTI) algorithms still use the MSE as the search metric. Does the MSE really fit for MCTI, which is carried out at the decoder of the Wyner-Ziv video coding? This paper tries to answer the question and a new search metric combining the structure similarity with MSE is proposed to improve MCTI performance.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115484072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By adopting a modified hybrid Gauss model for background modeling, the moving foreground in video is extracted using the background subtraction method. The 8-adjacent connection area labeling method is used to label the foreground region so as to obtain the regional center trajectory. The Lucas-Kanade algorithm is used to extract the optical flow information within the movement region, and the regional flow features are described by the histogram with the weighted amplitude direction. The abnormal pedestrian behavior is identified through the analysis of the target trajectory and the entropy of histogram in the computational region. The modified mixed Gauss background model can effectively remove the interference factors and environmental disturbance on the foreground extraction so as to improve illumination changes. The trajectory analysis is done prior to the regional flow analysis if specific situation occurs, overcoming some problems such as the existing high misdiagnosis rate only from the trajectory feature recognition, the failure of individual existence through the optical flow feature recognition, the large amount of computation, etc. The experiments show that the proposed method can effectively identify the specific human abnormal behaviors.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122405409","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Second, the an isotropic diffusion is implemented to suppress speckle noise while preserving the edge details. In practical applications, there are generally a small amount of labeled face images and a lot of unlabeled ones can be available. In this paper, we introduce a semi-supervised face recognition method where semi-supervised LDA (SDA) and Affinity Propagation (AP) are integrated into Self-training. SDA is employed to update the face subspace using labeled and unlabeled face images. And we employ AP to computer the templates which exist in the original face images. A series of experiments on three face datasets are carried out to evaluate the performance of our algorithm. Experimental results illustrate that our algorithm outperforms the other unsupervised, semi-supervised and supervised methods.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"689 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128587156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
