Firstly, we discuss the traditional tracker's deficiency in dealing with scale changeable object and propose the multiscale mode. Then, we design our tracker under the particle filter framework using the proposed mode and \"many to one\" searching strategy. Finally, we compare our tracker with some existing trackers by tracking test on some video clips, which contain three categories of object scale change. Simulation results indicate that the proposed tracker distinctly improves both the tracking precision and efficiency. Compared with the traditional particle filter tracker, our tracker needs fewer particles and obtains more precise location and scale estimation.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"30 8","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120942993","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we developed a fully automatic liver extraction scheme based on an adaptive fast marching method (FMM). Firstly, a thresholding operation was applied to remove the ribs, spines and kidneys. Followed by a smooth filter for noise reduction. Secondly, a nonlinear gray scale converter was used to enhance the contrast of the liver parenchyma. The enhanced image is then eroded with 3-voxel radius so that small regions are deleted. The seed points located in the liver were selected automatically. Finally, using the processed image as a speed function, FMM was employed to generate the liver contour. Clinical validation has performed on 30 abdominal computed tomography (CT) datasets. The proposed algorithm achieved an overall true positive rate (TPR) of 0.98. It takes about 0.30 s for a 512×512-pixel slice. The method has been applied successfully for fast and accurate liver segmentation.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127052993","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A texture-based SSIM (TSSIM) algorithm is proposed, because of the fact that SAR images have much texture and SSIM algorithm has good performance in optical image quality assessment. TSSIM combines the image gray intensity with textural features to measure the image structural information. The Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) is adopted to extract the textural features of SAR image. The angle second moment feature is proved the best compared with the other textural features. The results of simulations have shown that TSSIM is effective and can assess the jamming effect more accurately in different regions such as complex texture and simple texture area compared with SSIM and PSNR.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"30 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122642282","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through the combined use of global silhouette comparison and local feature point matching, the camera pose of a 2D photograph can be accurately determined by minimising a hybird objective function. The registered photos can be used to stitch textures or refine the geometry of 3D models. This method can be used independently or collaboratively in image-based modeling systems to effectively treat restrictive camera-model position configurations. The experiment shows that our method is more flexible than the methods using only geometrical or local feature information.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121900569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed algorithm is based on the maximum color distance (MCD) and the shape density. The MCD provides invariance for illuminations changes, while the shape density is the density of shape distribution corresponding to the respective distance from the center position of an object. The generated probability density function (PDF) of shape density is invariant for object orientation and robust to deformable object and linear scale variation. The initialized model of a target for PDF of the MCD and shape density is compared with candidates by Least Mean Square Error in a next frame. Experimental results show that the tracking system using the proposed algorithm with the MCD and the shape density provides effective results for simultaneous changes in target such as translation, deformation, scale and color variations.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122068011","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The algorithm was based on the traditional GGVF snake, which added a pressure pointing to the normal direction of snake contour in the part of external force, and the value of the force was adaptive to the mean gradients of the neighbor contour points. The experimental results show that the algorithm can make the contour converge to the deep cavity border fleetly and improve the robustness to noise. Furthermore, it also can maintain the ability of weak edge extraction which has a good performance of the ultrasound ventricular contour extraction.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116814033","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, a single camera can only provide a limited field of view (FOV). To overcome this problem, distributed aperture systems (DAS) are developed to provide a broader FOV by combining the views from multiple cameras. In this paper, we present a personal-computer-based 360 degree vision DAS system, and describe how to offline estimate the orientations of the cameras constituting the DAS system, as well as online synthesize a virtual view in real time. Our system is able to synthesize a color virtual view of up to 2048×1024 pixels at a speed of 39 frames per second (fps). We use 2D Scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) features together with 3D histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) features which are extracted in a pair of RGB and depth images captured synchronously, named SIFT-HOG features, to improve the robustness and accuracy of head pose estimation. We apply random forests to formulate pose estimation as a regression problem, due to their power for handling large training data and the high mapping speed. And then the mean-shift method is employed to refine the result obtained by the random forests. The experiment results demonstrate that our approach of head pose estimation is efficient.","PeriodicalId":425822,"journal":{"name":"2013 Seventh International Conference on Image and Graphics","volume":"161 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129270906","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
