In order to observe the understandings about what happens in the teacher/student interaction, we bring the theory of Exploratory Practice (ALLWRIGHT, 2006; MILLER, 2013; MILLER e CUNHA, 2019; MILLER e MORES BEZERRA, 2015, ALLWRIGHT e HANKS, 2009) as a guide for this paper, connecting it to Goffman´s theory about stigma (GOFFMAN, 2004 [1963]) and social situations (GOFFMAN, 2002 [1964]). Our focus is to discuss some daily scenes that happen in a language classroom, mor specifically, in a Portuguese classroom. The proposition was made, first, due to identified absence in the didactic sequence teaching strategy – by Dolz, Noverraz and Schneuwly (2004) -, of a methodological guideline on how to circumscribe the evaluation criterias for the recommended formative evaluation. Second, because a didactic instrument, which proposes to reach a certain linguistic perspective, must have parameters to evaluate not only the students, but also the educational instrument itself. Therefore, intending the development of a larger study, the criterias were circumscribed considering the textual and enunciative characteristics of the opinion article genre. A qualitative approach was adopted as the methodology of this research, in which questionnaires were applied to identify the conceptions of presential tutors about pedagogical mediation, highlight the difficulties they encounter in its promotion and gather suggestions to improve it. The results show that tutors see mediation as a synonym for approximation, which facilitates communication and access to the course, in addition to motivating students. Teachers want better quality teaching material that is produced by the subject teacher and made available to students and that access to the platform is simplified.
