Abstract
: This study aims to investigate the process of pedagogical mediation in Distance Education courses, taking into account the concepts of pedagogical mediation of presential tutors, identifying the problems to promote it, and raising suggestions to improve it. A qualitative approach was adopted as the methodology of this research, in which questionnaires were applied to identify the conceptions of presential tutors about pedagogical mediation, highlight the difficulties they encounter in its promotion and gather suggestions to improve it. The results show that tutors see mediation as a synonym for approximation, which facilitates communication and access to the course, in addition to motivating students. Teachers want better quality teaching material that is produced by the subject teacher and made available to students and that access to the platform is simplified. The collected data suggest that practical classes should be proposed and guided by the subject's teacher.
