This context has reinforced the idea that immigrants would consume a disproportionate share of socio-economic resources available through social services, thus displacing the local population. This article examines the case of Spain, analysing the dynamics of accessing socioeconomic inclusion policies developed by public Social Services among immigrants and non-immigrants at risk of social exclusion, based on different secondary sources. The paper shows that is there no evidence that social services resources are being displaced for the socio-economic inclusion of the immigrant population.","PeriodicalId":42217,"journal":{"name":"OBETS-Revista de Ciencias Sociales","volume":"7 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2021-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75851810","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper analyses the presence of the candidates for the Presidency of the Government of Spain on Twitter and Facebook during the electoral campaign prior to the last elections on 10 November 2019. It seeks to assess and understand how, in a political context of deadlock, it is necessary to study the importance of the candidate’s interactions; thus, this paper focuses on the analysis of the candidates’ profiles on these social networks. Using a quantitative methodology and using tools such as Fanpage Karma and Social Analytics, this study carries out a comparative case study of the candidates of the main parties in networks. The results allow us to know how Spanish political leaders use social networks, while at the same time showing and analyzing the relationship between candidate interaction and their election results.","PeriodicalId":42217,"journal":{"name":"OBETS-Revista de Ciencias Sociales","volume":"16 1","pages":"63-74"},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2021-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41748113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research design was cross-sectional and descriptive with a sample of 147 adolescents. Results reflected a positive, statistically significant, relationship between sexism and romantic distortions. Boys exhibited higher levels of sexism towards women and romantic love myths, while girls showed higher scores of sexism attitudes towards men. It was concluded that having experienced family violence does not have a significant effect in adoption of sexist attitudes and false romantic beliefs in institutionalised adolescents.","PeriodicalId":42217,"journal":{"name":"OBETS-Revista de Ciencias Sociales","volume":"16 1","pages":"75-86"},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2021-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44635902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this article is to contribute to the analysis of the effects that this mechanism can have on the technical and political personnel involved. We believe that this is a necessary approach, since there are very few studies on this issue, with more common research on the impacts on participating citizens. In this paper, indicators for the dimensions of results on policies, results on relation to citizenship and learning were specifically analyzed. The effects, both of the learning part and of the results on policy and relations, are analyzed from the point of view of the qualitative information that has been collected from the technique of the semi-structured interview.","PeriodicalId":42217,"journal":{"name":"OBETS-Revista de Ciencias Sociales","volume":"16 1","pages":"135-150"},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2021-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42478739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article sets out to evaluate the effectiveness of video surveillance with regard to this promise. It is based on a long-term survey (2012-2017) carried out in three cities (one small, one medium and one very large) in the South of France, and on a methodology that is both quantitative and qualitative. It highlights the great weakness of the contribution of video surveillance to the fight against crime, both in terms of the a posteriori elucidation of cases and “live” detection by the operators who view the images. The survey also shows how and why these technological devices are gradually being diverted to other uses that are more profitable but partly concealed because they are less socially acceptable.","PeriodicalId":42217,"journal":{"name":"OBETS-Revista de Ciencias Sociales","volume":"16 1","pages":"175-190"},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2021-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41811485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Participatory Budgeting is a methodology of public management and participatory democracy in which citizens, in a space of dialogue and deliberation, decide on a part of the municipal budget. The study starts from the models proposed by Ganuza and Frances (2012) and focuses on the experiences of the “Big Cities”. The results indicate the emergence of a new model, which we have called “instrumentalist”, with fewer deliberative spaces and where technologies are the predominant participatory mechanism.","PeriodicalId":42217,"journal":{"name":"OBETS-Revista de Ciencias Sociales","volume":"16 1","pages":"151-174"},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2021-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48796456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
