The investigation results are summarized as follows. 1) The university headquarter was nominated as the university landmark, and the main reason for the nomination was the building`s historic and locational value. 2) Of the morphological elements of the campus landmark, `proportion and balance` and `harmony and order` were deemed important, while `diversity` was deemed less important. 3) For the satisfaction on the facility`s exterior elements, the evaluation structure was different for each university. However, the factor of `location of the facility` was deemed the biggest factor for satisfaction for all universities, while the facility`s `color and material` were found to be the most dissatisfying factors. 4) The image evaluation on the facility was different for each university. Although there was a strong skeptical image about `liveliness`, there was a very positive image about `elegance` and `scale`. 5) On the relationship between the satisfaction on exterior elements and the image evaluation, there was a different evaluation structure for each university. `Facility`s color and exterior material` were the main elements which improved the overall image of the facility. Thus, the study results strongly suggest that an important task is to determine the maintenance direction through the emphasis on the relationship between exterior elements and image satisfaction for each university.","PeriodicalId":420111,"journal":{"name":"The journal of Sustainable Design and Educational Environment Research","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114971465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

School is a public facility for students. So Green Building Certification System for School must have educational point of view adding to energy saving, reduction of greenhouse gas emission, etc. Also school is forming a large part with the apartment house in the green building certification system. So we need to manage the green building certification system for school to meet carbon reduction policy.","PeriodicalId":420111,"journal":{"name":"The journal of Sustainable Design and Educational Environment Research","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128127590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In daycare centers, infants and children spending much of their time, have high frequency of contact with the interior floor finish material. However, the majority of the child care centers don not use eco-friendly flooring but ordinary monorium flooring, because the initial investment cost of the eco-friendly flooring is higher than ordinary monorium flooring. Therefore, in this study, life cycle costs including the initial investment cost of the eco-friendly flooring and ordinary monorium flooring were calculated, demonstrating that the eco-friendly flooring is more economical than ordinary monorium flooring in terms of life-cycle cost. In addition, the analysis of the environmental performance also showed the excellence of the eco-friendly floor finishes. It is expected that the use of the eco-friendly floor finishes will increase due to their excellence in the aspect of life cycle cost and eco-friendly performance, through this study.","PeriodicalId":420111,"journal":{"name":"The journal of Sustainable Design and Educational Environment Research","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127971984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So various of techniques are developed to predict the construction cost accurately and expeditely. Among the techniques, Support Vector Machine(SVM) has an excellent ability for generalization performance. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to construct the prediction model for construction cost of educational building project using support vector machine technique. And to verify the accuracy of prediction model for construction cost. The performance data used in this study are 217 school building project cost which have been completed from 2004 to 2007 in Gyeonggi-Do, Korea. The result shows that average error rate was 7.48% for SVM prediction model. So using SVM model on predicting construction cost of educational building project will be a considerably effective way at the early project stage. 키워드 : 서포트벡터머신, 회귀분석, 공사비 예측, 교육시설","PeriodicalId":420111,"journal":{"name":"The journal of Sustainable Design and Educational Environment Research","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130344252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to find ways to collaborate with the communities based on the characteristics of the districts where schools might be abolished, which can contribute to the development of the society. Following results are integrated by the theoretical framework, social and educational necessities, and analysis of the current situation about the utilization of abolition schools. First, alternative schools, characterized schools, specialized high school can be established as the result of abolition schools that are caused by lack of people in the city. Second, since it is easy for people to access to the agricultural, mountain, and fishing villages near cities, abolition schools in these areas can be used as experience facilities or training places for students and teachers. Third, in case of the abolition candidate schools in the agricultural, mountain, and fishing villages in the districts, students and village people can use the schools for education and social purposes.
