Regardless of the cause that led to the onset of paralysis (whether localized or generalized), physiotherapy helps these patients with devices and methods designed to restore their proper functioning of the body, as well as the quality of life. Obtaining the standing position is the main stage in the therapeutic process, being the indispensable element for the entire protocol. The present study focused on the devices we developed over time, adapting them for each patient, depending on the degree of damage they presented and the possible associated pathologies. At the same time, we wanted these devices to be available for any therapist or even owner, being made of common materials, easy to find, but also affordable.","PeriodicalId":419057,"journal":{"name":"Practica Veterinara.ro","volume":"90 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139252818","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its consequences on the target organs are also particularly on the eye ,at the level of the retina. The afflicted individuals may present lesions of choroidopathy and hypertensive retinopathy. The objectives of the reported study were to evaluate the clinical and ophthalmological findings, the causes of systemic hypertension in these cats and to discuss the visual prognosis of the individuals. This retrospective study was carried out on a number of 14 patients. The selection criteria were represented by cats suffering from hypertensive retinopathy having a systolic blood pressure greater than 160 mmHg and having an ocular lesion: retinal vascular tortuosity, effusion, hemorrhage, retinal detachment or hyphema. Medical records were reviewed for individuals’ reports, the medical history, ophthalmic examination findings, and ocular ultrasound scans. Most cats were referred because they had decreased visual acuity (42.9%), a history of chronic kidney disease or even for hyphema, glaucoma and anisocoria. Auscultatory cardiac abnormalities were diagnosed in half of the individuals. Chronic kidney disease concomitant with systemic arterial hypertension was the most common (n=12), followed by hyperthyroidism (n=1). The four cats with blood pressure monitoring (n=4) after the administration of amlodipine showed a decrease in blood pressure.","PeriodicalId":419057,"journal":{"name":"Practica Veterinara.ro","volume":"39 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139251253","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of drug combinations in treating pain for chronic patients. In this micro-study, 15 dogs that presented symptoms associated with locomotor pain were included, the main objectives being to determine the degree of pain using a specific questionnaire, to evaluate the questionnaire compared to general and paraclinical examination techniques and to demonstrate the effectiveness of drug therapy and relief of symptoms associated with locomotor pain using long-term pharmaceutical supplements. The study revealed that: therapies with nutraceutical supplements, in the case of locomotor pathologies in dogs, have been shown to have fewer adverse or side effects compared to anti-inflammatory therapy. Treatment with chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine revealed the most positive results in the therapy of locomotor pathologies. In addition to establishing the diagnosis through certain imaging methods, such as computed tomography/radiology, the diagnosis of locomotor disorders can also be ensured, with a high margin of accuracy, through acute/chronic pain interpretation methodologies such as specific questionnaires.","PeriodicalId":419057,"journal":{"name":"Practica Veterinara.ro","volume":"56 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139254256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Following a laborious study, carried out on different reference materials, we managed to draw up this original table, which is intended to be a useful tool for the correct and easy choice of artificial eyes used in professional taxidermy.
