The preferred diagnostic modality in these cases is excisional biopsy. This mass is compose of keratin debris covered with keratinizing squamous epithelium, with multiple layers. It presents a continuous growth and determines the destruction of the tympanic bulla wall. Imaging examination reveals the presence of a soft tissue-like material in the middle ear and with different grades of affliction of the tympanic bulla wall integrity. The imaging examination helps to identify the tympanokeratoma, but the final diagnosis is establish by histopathological examination. \u0000 ","PeriodicalId":419057,"journal":{"name":"Practica Veterinara.ro","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128587116","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study included patients with stage 2 renal failure, identified in five cats, with stage 3 detected in five individuals, and with stage four detected in 20 felines and 20 cases with acute kidney damage. Peritoneal dialysis was implemented with an accommodation protocol represented by the administration of 15 ml/kg, followed by 30 ml/kg, 45 ml/kg and 60 ml/kg every 4 hours. Representative results were recorded during peritoneal dialysis sessions with 4 shifts per day, with 4 hours of shift time. Cumulative results on the complete analysis of the relevance of peritoneal dialysis on different stages of renal damage indicate a positive therapeutic response by decreasing the biochemical parameters of interest.","PeriodicalId":419057,"journal":{"name":"Practica Veterinara.ro","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130156744","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the development of modern diagnostic techniques and the widespread availability of specific determinations, such as total canine T4, free canine T4 and TSH, have led to an increase in diagnostic accuracy and the possibility of differentiating hypothyroidism from other diseases with similar manifestations. In recent years, numerous articles have investigated the etiology of the disease, however in our country there are few data regarding the prevalence and risk factors of this condition in the canine population. This article was carried out on 18 dogs diagnosed with hypothyroidism at the Emergency University Veterinary Hospital “Prof. Dr. Alin Bîrţoiu” between 2021 and 2022. All patients included in the study presented neurological manifestations. The diagnostic protocol included anamnesis, analysis of signalment, complete clinical examination, neurological examination and confirmation by serological investigations, the data obtained being compared with those provided by other similar studies. \u0000 ","PeriodicalId":419057,"journal":{"name":"Practica Veterinara.ro","volume":"24 8","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120911967","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objectives of nutritional therapy consist in providing adequate nutritional support, reducing the clinical expression and effects of uremic intoxication, reducing hydroelectrolytic changes, vitamin-mineral and acid-base disturbances, along with limiting the progression of renal disease. Drug therapy aims at the management of the physiopathological consequences related to each stage of chronic kidney disease (CKD), represented by the decrease of the functional force, the reduction of the symptoms and the effects of uremic intoxication, the reduction of the hydroelectrolytic changes and disturbances of the vitamin, mineral metabolism and acidosis and the limitation of the morbid process progression.","PeriodicalId":419057,"journal":{"name":"Practica Veterinara.ro","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115824484","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the category of pet lizards we include: chameleons, agamids, iguanas, skinks, anoles, lizards or geckos. There are extremely different categories of lizards in terms of environmental and feeding requirements and with a special ecobiology, sometimes characteristic of a single species or of several species within a genus. Maintenance deficiencies are most frequently translated by metabolic disorders, frequently associated with infections or parasites that are not diagnosed in individuals of the same species living in the natural environment. In general, a series of viruses or bacterioses overlaped on an immunodeficient background that appears as a result of improper feeding or defective environmental parameters.","PeriodicalId":419057,"journal":{"name":"Practica Veterinara.ro","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127388718","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
