The most common and frequent periodontal disease is chronic periodontitis which is caused by the accumulation of plaque and calculus. Alternative treatment using herbal ingredients such as andaliman fruit (Zantoxylum acanthopodium DC.) has therapeutic benefits because of its broad biological activity, and lower side effects. Andaliman fruit (Zantoxylum acanthopodium DC.) contains active compounds such as phenolic compounds, saponins, flavonoids, tannins, triterpenoids, steroids, and alkaloids that act as antibacterial. The aim of this study was to determine the minimum inhibitory level (MIC) and minimum killing rate (MBC) of andaliman fruit ethanol extract against Porphyromonas gingivalis bacteria. The research procedure used for the MIC and MBC tests was broth microdilution and the number of colonies was counted using the total plate count (TPC) with variations of 6 concentrations of andaliman fruit ethanol extract with 10% DMSO solvent and 0.2% Chlorhexidine. Statistical analysis in this study was performed using Levene Statistics and Post Hoc Dunnet T3. The ethanol extract of andaliman fruit has a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and a minimum killing concentration (MBC) against the growth of Porphyromonas gingivalis bacteria. The minimum inhibitory concentration in the ethanol extract of andaliman fruit was at a concentration of 25%, while the minimum killing concentration was at a concentration of 100%.","PeriodicalId":417742,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Kesehatan Gigi","volume":"70 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139174325","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, alginate impression material is still difficult to find in remote areas, this is due to the distance factor and the limited supply of alginate. One of the substitutes for alginate is sweet corn that contain polysaccharide a and are easily available in Indonesia. . This type of research is a laboratory experimental study using 4 groups, consisting of the first group as a control group, namely alginate without being given a mixture of sweet corn flour (10 g). The second group with 60% alginate percentage (6 g) sweet corn flour 40% (4 g) . The third group alginate percentage 55% (5.5 g) sweet corn flour 45% (4.5 g). The fourth group was 50% alginate (5 g) 50% sweet corn flour (5 g). Each group consists of 6 samples. The results of this study were then analyzed using One Way Anova to see if there were differences in each treatment group, the results showed that there were significant differences (p 0.05) in each group. This study also found the group with the fastest setting time, namely the control group, with an average of and the longest setting time is in group 3 with an average of 234 seconds . This can happen because of the polysaccharide content, namely amylopectin in sweet corn flour. The conclusion of this study is that sweet corn flour ( Zea mays L.
