In order to interpret the speech information in the signal, human auditory system uses both envelope (ENV) and temporal fine structure (TFS) cues. While ENV is sufficient for understanding speech in quiet, TFS cues are necessary for speech segregation in noisy conditions. Speech cues can be classified into two categories; envelope (ENV) and temporal fine structure (TFS). In general, slow varying ENV (known as recovered ENV) can be recovered from the rapidly changing TFS; however, the degree of ENV recovery and its significance on speech perception are not clearly understood. In order to quantify the relative contribution of the recovered ENV for speech perception, this study proposes a new speech perception metric. The proposed metric employs a phenomenological model of the auditory periphery developed to simulate the responses of the auditory nerve fibers to both original and recovered ENV cues. The performance of the proposed metric was evaluated under different types of noise (both steady-state and fluctuating noise) at different sound presentation level. Finally, to validate the proposed metric, the predicted scores were compared with subjective evaluation scores from behavioral studies. The existence of harmonics causes distortions in grid voltage waveforms, degrades power quality, creates ripples, causes overheating and sometimes reduces lifetime of transformers. For this reason, it is necessary to eliminate harmonics from power systems. It is primarily essential to estimate harmonics in a power system for this elimination. Therefore, in this paper, a frequency adaptative stable technique is adopted to precisely estimate the fundamental and harmonics parameters in a single- phase grid voltage system. The technique is formed on 3 consecutive samples $(3mathrm {C}mathrm {S}mathrm {s})$ and cascaded delayed signal cancellation (CDSC) strategy. This method can track the frequency very accurately and estimate the fundamental and multiple harmonics parameters from the waveform of grid voltage, which is warped by various harmonics. Here under different cases simulations are carried out to analyze the efficiency of the suggested technique. Breast cancer occurs when some breast cells begin to raise abnormally. It can arise in any portion of the Breast and it can be prevented if the treatment is started at the early stage of the Breast cancer. Breast cancer is a malignant tumour i.e. a collection of cancer cells arising from the cells of the breast Treatment of breast cancer relies on the cancer type and its stage (zero to fourth) and may include surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy. Mainly this paper focused on diagnosing the Breast cancer disease using various classification algorithm with the help of data mining tools. Data mining of the intelligent accumulated from previously disease detected patients opened up a new aspect of medical progression. In this paper, the capability of the classification of Naïve Bayes, Random Forest, Logistic Regression, Multilayer Perceptron, K-nearest neighbors in evaluating the Breast Cancer Disease dataset culled from UCI machine learning repository, was observed to predict the existence of Breast cancer. Machine learning can be classified as supervised and unsupervised learning. In supervised learning, computers learn an objective that portrays an input to an output hinged on training input-output pairs [3]. Most efficient and widely used supervised learning algorithms are K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Large Margin Nearest Neighbor (LMNN), and Extended Nearest Neighbor (ENN). The main contribution of this paper is to implement these elegant learning algorithms on eleven different datasets from the UCI machine learning repository to observe the variation of accuracies for each of the algorithms on all datasets. Analyzing the accuracy of the algorithms will give us a brief idea about the relationship of the machine learning algorithms and the data dimensionality. All the algorithms are developed in Matlab. In critical application areas, demand of safety against soft errors is increasing. Several methods have been developed to provide such error free environment in modern systems. The use of Golay code, and BCH codes are some of the top most widely used techniques. Nonetheless, still no methods have claimed that it has 100% correction rate. In this paper, a new Successive Parity Generation (SPG) based approach is proposed to tolerate such soft errors. After occurrence of bit errors in data, the proposed method corrects all the bit errors completely. It calculates parity at receiver end and successively detects errors and correct the erroneous data by comparing sender and receiver parity bits. The proposed method can detect and correct 100% error for any size of codeword with a moderate overhead. Fresh drinking water is one of the indispensable needs for human being as well as other living creatures' survival. Like many others countries in the world, Bangladesh is one of the developing countries that has not been able to overcome the freshwater crisis yet, especially for its people of the coastal regions. To assist the rural or isolated communities by fulfilling their pure drinking water demand, a small scale brackish water reverse osmosis purification system assisted by solar photovoltaic (PV) energy as the renewable energy source has been proposed in this work. It has been revealed that solar PV source serves the best for a small scale power generation for the rural or remote region and reverse osmosis process is the most economical system for brackish water purification. After a thorough experimental investigation and analysis, it was found that the system fulfilled the national and international standard of pure drinking water, where 0.19BDT/litre (0.0022USD/litre) has been achieved as the most cost-efficient outcome of the water purification system. In time of unavoidable accidents autonomous vehicles face critical decision making situations where two or more lives are at stake. In times like these vehicles face ethical dilemmas i.e. whether to sacrifice lives for minimizing the number of deaths. In this article this programming ethic for self driving cars is visualized with an algorithm. A priority queue based min-heap sorting algorithm is used to categorize lives of people according to some given parameters. In this algorithm deletion, insertion etc. operations are used to prioritize among nodes with different values. We combine these operations using a BST as a priority queue. This algorithm also uses the term probability of survival, which indicates the probability of a person surviving. The structure consists of a Si rib on a SiO2 substrate and having graphene layer under the Ag cap on the rib. For this structure, the propagation length of plasmon mode increases when the width and height of graphene layer decrease. The highest propagation length has been found to be 1814 μm with the confinement area about 250 nm2. Thus, a very high figure of merit has been obtained in the order of 106. The requirement of transferring or storing satellite images is increasing quickly with the evolution of advanced communications and imaging systems. In the digital world, the size of pictures is a major problem when dealing with the storage and transportation necessities. Compression is one of the most primary procedures to address this difficulty. The intention of data compression is to promote the storage and delivery of big images with excellent compression ratio and least distortion. Moreover, the number of internet user is growing day by day speedily. So, transferring of data is being an another significant concern. This article introduces histogram modification based lossy image compression using Huffman coding. A little bit change of pixel’s value is done which is why the number of probabilities of an original image is decreased and the value of probabilities are increased. As a result, Huffman coding uses very few bits in case of encoding and decoding than that of previous.
