The effective concentration of glucose plays an important role to perform the normal functioning of organs in human body. An artificial pancreas model is considered to measure the changing of blood glucose levels which gives the similar response in a way to human pancreas. The proposed model consists of three subsystems such as glucose, insulin and the action of glucose subsystem. The dynamic models of all the subsystem is obtained by assuming the model constant of Hovorka model. The variables of proposed model and its effect on glucose level is studied by MATLAB simulation. The obtained results show that the effective glucose level is required to properly accelerate the brain and blood cells.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124930218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Global thresholding, not suitable for complex documents, may produce noise along the page borders when the intensity of an image is non-uniform. For degraded, noisy and illuminated images local thresholding is preferred. This paper presents a local thresholding scheme when the image is a collection of text, pictures, and background. It calculates the local mean and local contrast to separate the background from the foreground. Local contrast, not suitable for integral images, can be achieved by the differing local maximum, and local minimum intensity. The proposed approach doesn’t calculate standard deviation like much other local thresholding method but locally adapted with local mean and local contrast. This proposed algorithm has been tested with different types of images including ancient documents, noisy background, and pictures. The test results are compared with a global and some traditional local thresholding techniques in terms of MSE and PSNR. The comparison shows that the proposed method results improved PSNR and better extraction in OCR operation.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125244057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fundamental mode obtained here has been reported to offer a remarkably small effective area $(simlambda^{2}/80)$ with a very high electromagnetic energy confinement in the dielectric region at the telecommunication wavelength. The potentialities of this hybrid plasmon mode in different nanophotonic applications have been examined here by considering the effects of the operating wavelength and cross-sectional geometry on its modal properties.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"211 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133939420","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This robot is designed and developed by ‘ROBO SUST’ team of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. RIBO is able to hands and eyes ups and downs, can walk very slowly and can speak some Bengali recorded sentences. Now the ‘ROBO SUST’ team is trying to develop the RIBO so that it can communicate with human. One of the parts to communicate with human is convert bengali text to bengali speech in robotic voice. In this article, we propose a method which will convert bengali text to speech in robotic voice using google text to speech system and ring modulator. There are existed some text to speech synthesizer system which can convert bengali text to bengali speech. Among these TTS synthesizer system google TTS system for bengali is better. Hence, we use google text to speech system to produce bengali speech from any bengali written text. Google TTS synthesizer system produces speech as audio object file which can be converted to.mp3 file. Then we modify this.mp3 file using the characteristics of diode and ring modulator concept to get machine voice. After changing pitch and speed of this machine voice we get our final robotic voice which will be used in RIBO as his voice.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"19 17-19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133193095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

OpenFlow is the first and most widely used protocol that makes this separation possible in the first place. As a newly emerged technology, SDN has its inherent security threats that can be eliminated or at least mitigated by securing the OpenFlow controller that manages flow control in SDN. SDN provides us a chance to strengthen our network security by decoupling its control plane and data plane. At this level, there also exists some certain risk, which is associated with this technology. In this research, a flow based anomaly detection method in OpenFlow controller have been approached by using machine-learning algorithms in SDN architecture. In order to improve the classifier performance, some feature selection methods namely Info Gain, Gain Ratio, CFS Subset Evaluator, Symmetric Uncertainty, and Chi-square test have been applied as a processing of dataset. A full dataset of 41 features and a reduced dataset has experimented. A dataset with feature selection ensures the highest accuracy of nearly 82% with Random Forest classifier using Gain Ratio feature selection Evaluator. Experimental results ratify that machine-learning approach with feature selection method indices strong potential for the detection of flow based anomaly in OpenFlow controller.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117236886","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Indeed, PV power output depends on weather conditions. So, uncertainty of PV generations is a common drawback that is very difficult to tackle. Typically, smart grids are introducing bulk capacity Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for tackling uncertainty problem. It is expensive and consumes grid power while charging. HCSP is a renewable generation that can be used instead of bulk BESS. Usually, Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) needs at least 15 minutes for a hot start-up. Therefore it cannot solve the problem of uncertainty. This proposed research introduces an HCSP which has a small capacity BESS inside of HCSP. This BESS is charged and discharged from HCSP. BESS covers the start-up time of HCSP, so any time Information Communication and Technology (ICT) department call this HCSP to turn on. A utility company can make optimal thermal generators’ unit commitment (UC) by running HCSP optimally and can save operational costs. PVs power outputs have predicted by Neural Networks, and simulations results are determined by using MATLAB® INTLINPROG optimization toolbox.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115894095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, an effective Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is vital in MANET to deter unwanted malicious attacks. An IDS has been proposed in this paper based on watchdog and pathrater method as well as evaluation of its performance has been presented using Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocols with and without considering the effect of the sinkhole attack. The results obtained justify that the proposed IDS is capable of detecting suspicious activities and identifying the malicious nodes. Moreover, it replaces the fake route with a real one in the routing table in order to mitigate the security risks. The performance appraisal also suggests that the AODV protocol has a capacity of sending more packets than DSR and yields more throughput.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116344252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
