Optical orthogonal codes are used for the decoding purpose in the optical correlator receiver. LED with an operating wavelength of $532mathrm{n}mathrm{m}$ is used as the optical source and Silicon APD is used as the optical detector. The BER performance of this system is analyzed with respect to different system parameters. It is found that the system BER performance significantly depends on underwater channel qualities i.e., water types and other system parameters. However, the overall system BER performance achieved in pure sea water is the best among all the water types.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130312842","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An emotion recognition system through facial expression recognition is proposed in this paper. Preprocessed input images are segmented into four facial expression regions by following the proposed highly effective image segmentation method. 2D Gabor filter with different frequencies and orientations are used to extract features from the segmented parts. Reduction of the dimension of the extracted features is done using downsampling and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Classification of the features is done using the artificial neural network (multilayer perceptrons with backpropagation). To evaluate the performance of the proposed method three widely used facial expression datasets (JAFFE, CK+, RaFD) are used. Performance on these datasets by the proposed method is compared with the performance on these datasets by other methods to indicate that state-of-the-art performance is achieved by the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132159032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lack of access to electricity is a major impediments to the economic growth of a nation. The geo- location of Bangladesh along with the limited reserve of conventional fuel arise the demand to find alternative energy source for electrification across the country. To achieve the overall development of the country electrifying more rural area is a demand of time. This research work represents a HOMER based feasibility analysis for an off grid hybrid renewable energy system for a remote village in Mymensingh. Detailed analysis for a hybrid energy system was done to compare with a conventional diesel based generation system. The hybrid renewable energy model developed on this study has proved to be more efficient in terms of economic analysis and environment friendly characteristics. The main objective of this research work is to reduce energy inadequacy and electrify more rural areas by using the renewable resources of the country.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132570183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To maintain the acceptable level of glucose, we need some advice from the doctor. It’s also required regular basis check-up the glucose level. To detect the glucose of human blood, we propose a D-shaped PCF glucose sensor where gold use as the metallic layer and glucose is the sensing layer. COMSOL Multiphysics 5.0a has used as the simulation tool to design our proposed sensor. Though the number of aged people is increasing, it is irrefutable that the need of a disperse medical care system providing remote monitoring intending to reduce the escalating healthcare expenditure is very urgent. Moreover, World Health organization reported, in Bangladesh, about 17% of deaths are caused by cardiovascular diseases. Continual health monitoring and rapid detection can save up to 60% of lives. For these reasons, a wireless, wearable, low cost and automatic health monitoring system is a suitable solution. The implemented project described in this paper is a user- friendly, wearable and continuous monitoring system of blood pressure, heart rate, and body temperature, which can communicate with requested Android devices through Bluetooth. The system mainly consists of IR transmitter, receiver, LM-35, MPXV 5050GP, the data acquisition unit, microcontroller (i.e., Arduino) and Bluetooth. Bluetooth is used for its better transmission rate than ZigBee and cost-efficiency than GSM. In addition, all the measured readings and communications are password protected. A free and user- friendly Android application is attributed to demonstrate the readings. The proposed system has been field tested to ensure dependability and exactitude. The test results showed that this system could measure the patient‘s physiological data with high accuracy. The system can be easily segregated from the previous works for its maximum number of data collection, real-time monitoring, security issues and cost-effectiveness.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114809413","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A very low group velocity dispersion and high nonlinearity at 450 nm have been obtained for d/Λ = 0.345 of the air holes of first ring. It is also found that the low dispersion is almost independent of core materials. Here, the optical mode characteristics have been calculated by using the finite element method (FEM) in the wavelength range of 400 nm to 2000 $nm$. Dispersion parameters and nonlinearity parameters of the PCFs are compared to check the possibility of broadband supercontinuum generation. It is further demonstrated that relatively high broadband can be achieved using highly nonlinear chalcogenides ($As2Se3$ and Gen. $5As24Se64.5$) with relatively low power optical pulse.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117004761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CCAA structure is chosen, because it has the ability to scan the signal from 00 to 3600. Different direction of arrival (DOA) estimation techniques are proposed to analyze the performance of CCAA structure in this paper. This paper first compares the performance of CCAA beamformer with Uniform Circular Array (UCA) using Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC), Minimum Variance Distortion less Response (MVDR) and Beamscan DOA estimation techniques. It is observed that MUSIC algorithm offers better performance for CCAA structure. It is also observed that there is subtle mismatch occurs between actual signal direction and estimated signal direction obtaining from DOA techniques. The performance of beamformer degrades if the actual signal direction is not exactly same with estimated direction. This paper also presents robust beamforming technique to resolve the problem occurs due to mismatch between actual and estimated signal direction.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121710984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, there is a recent push to automate validation of correct placement of product in category. The French E-commerce company CDiscount has launched Kaggle competition, sharing huge dataset of over 7 million products, to solve the very problem. The goal is to classify products containing multiple images into one of 5270 categories. This paper proposes, implements and experimentally evaluates deep neural network architecture for classification of non-food E-commerce products. To tackle the complexity of the task on available hardware, hierarchical architecture of neural networks that exploits existing category taxonomy is proposed. The hierarchical architecture achieved the Top-1 accuracy of 0.61061. It has been found, that specific networks in hierarchical architecture can be successfully transferred onto similar datasets, by transferring network that learned on books onto different book dataset. The transferred model performed better than the same model pre-trained on ImageNet dataset.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124601727","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CPR is applicable for any individual who is unresponsive with no breathing or breathing just in infrequent painful gasps, as it is likely to have suffered cardiac arrest. Survival rate from cardiac arrest is very poor and traditional manual CPR techniques do not give the reliable and effective chest compressions required to treat a patient. An answer for this issue is to take out the human component altogether and use the advantages of a machine. By investigating the current manual CPR techniques, we have designed and built up an automated CPR device that would provide sternal compression force. The device has been tested on a CPR manikin and the results were positive. The cost of the device is around $300 and this device will be an important addition for emergency rescuers in developing regions like in Bangladesh.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126208812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This colorimetric study is imposed on different biological tissues like onion, human skin etc. where images are taken by a digital camera. The method is based on the hypothesis that the color spectrums and relative intensities differ for directly transmitted light and light scattered at an angle which give the tissue characteristics. In order to attain that an indigenous device is designed to pass a collimated beam of light from a white LED through a slide containing the tissue. The values for intensities of the primary colors Red, Green and Blue in the region of the tissues are extracted from the image for both positions. An analysis of these color and intensity values provides information on the morphological structure of the tissue and their optical characteristics. For preliminary testing of the system, some non-biological material (like filtered paper) is used. Scattering prospect of red is higher in color and rubbed filter while in jelly blue is scattered most. This result is compatible with the theoretical perspective.","PeriodicalId":417359,"journal":{"name":"2018 4th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (iCEEiCT)","volume":"217 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114851395","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
