Abstract

A compact planar printed multiband antenna system is proposed for heterogeneous wireless network standards. The proposed antenna consists of a driven monopole and an extended ground branch. The antenna element is printed on a low-cost FR-4 substrate with a total volume of $0.8 \times 44 \times 100$ mm3 which is suitable for ten-band LTE/GSM/DCS/PCS/WCDMA/WLAN operation in the mobile phone and/or portable wireless devices.
