A wide and narrow interpretation of the term «interference», «types of interference» is given. Methodological instruments preventing the negative impact on the assimilation of a foreign language depends on the nature of interaction between the systems of native, academic (Russian) and English languages. Dostoevsky includes several business notebooks of A.G. Dostoevskaya, preserved in her archive and dedicated to sales accounting, as well as containing records of subscribers' addresses. 7 similar documents were systematized and described, as well as 6 additional sources adjacent to them for the dissemination of \"A Writer`s Diary\". The work on the preparation for publication of two similar books by subscribers allowed us to identify the possibilities of their use in textual or biographical research: to disclose the names (initials) of the writer's correspondents; clarification (correction) or determination of the dating of the letter; scientific commentary of the epistolary and the compilation of biographical information about correspondents; attribution of anonymous addressees. In general, an appeal to such an optional documentary source as A.G. Dostoevsky's notebooks. Dostoevsky with the lists of subscribers of \"A Writer`s Diary\" and its use in combination with other materials and sources can be very fruitful and lead to interesting, reliable results in the textual study of the late journalism of F.M. The article reveals the reasons that prompted its author to use textbooks as research material, and gives their periodization in connection with the growing interest in learning Russian in the United States. The article examines more than 50 textbooks of Russian as a foreign language published in the USA in the period from the beginning of the twentieth century to our time; reveals the approach of the American creators of Russian textbooks to the choice of text material and the principles of its presentation in their textbooks. The method of continuous sampling is used to select the contexts containing information about the Russian literature of the XIX century. The author conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses of lexical units containing a cultural component of meaning connected with the Russian writers of the XIX century. One of the conclusions of the analyses is that Russian writers' proper names, names of literary works and genres of Russian literature are of the greatest frequency. The composition of the fund is disclosed, its most important sections are listed. Through the main events of I.S. Shmelev's life, his creative path is shown, works written in the period 1894 — early 1920s, i.e. the time of I.S. Shmelev's life in Russia before emigration, draft autographs stored in the archive in several editions are presented. The sections of the fund, including articles, notebooks, sketches and excerpts of unidentified works, were analyzed, the correspondence of the writer, the materials of S.I. Shmelev, his son, as well as various materials of the 1925-1940s, documents related to the memory of the writer were studied. Individual materials of I.S.
